About this event

One-third of the world’s food goes uneaten each year, causing significant social, economic and environmental impacts. At this event to launch the new report, Reducing Food Loss and Waste: Setting a Global Action Agenda, hear about a three-pronged agenda to meet the UN’s call to halve food loss and waste by 2030. You will learn how governments and businesses can get started to “Target-Measure-Act,” about sector-specific ‘To Do’ lists, and 10 interventions to scale impact worldwide.

A distinguished panel of speakers will also share their insights on accelerating action across business, research, finance and with consumers:

- Michael La Cour (IKEA)

- Marcus Gover (WRAP)

- Selina Juul (Stop Wasting Food movement)

- Toine Timmermans (Wageningen University and Research)

- Clementine O’Connor (UN Environment)

- Michael Minter (Concito)

- Jan Laustsen (Danish Agriculture & Food Council)

The report has been produced by World Resources Institute with support from The Rockefeller Foundation and in partnership with United Nations Environment, Natural Resources Defense Council, Iowa State University, The University of Maryland’s Ed Snider Center, The Consortium for Innovation in Postharvest Loss and Food Waste Reduction, Wageningen University and Research, WRAP and the World Bank.
