Cheltenham Town were beaten 4-3 at Bristol City's training ground in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday morning.

Bosnia international Milan Djuric scored twice for City, while Niclas Eliasson and Loïs Diony were also on target.

The Championship club also included Liam Walsh and 34-year-old former Portsmouth and West Ham star Gary O’Neil, meaning Cheltenham found themselves up against a strong side at Failand.

City's assistant head coach Jamie McAllister said: "We had a game against Cheltenham for some of the lads to get some minutes on the pitch.”

Cheltenham manager Gary Johnson had a look at one trialist, while left-back Jordan Cranston continued his comeback from injury with another run out.

Burnley right-back Arlen Birch, who trained with the Robins on Monday, did not take part in the match.

Cheltenham play 23rd placed Chesterfield at home on Saturday in League Two looking to build on Saturday's 3-0 win at Swindon Town.
