Raised in a hellhole echoing with the sounds of conflict, Bones most profound childhood memory is of the day he died. Decades later, he has built an empire where he is king. His brothers have his back, and life is good. So good, he doesn’t realize what’s missing until he meets her. Ester seems to be the one woman capable of looking beyond his mask and seeing ... him.

Full description:
Salvador Ramos’ world was upended the day before he turned twelve. The stick-thin son of a small-time drug king, his demand for justice fell on deaf ears, and the identity of his sister’s killer remained a mystery. From that day forwards, Sal vowed he would never forget how it felt to be powerless.

Now he’s ready to make good on that promise. Positioned as one of the dominant outlaws in Chicago, he deals from a place of strength and power, leveraging fear as a weapon. He is a leader among men, having honed loyalty through harsh lessons, and earned trusted friendships until none can stand against him. He is Bones.

Bones. A man who looks like a monster. Covered in tattoos, black and grey, with hardly any inch of skin left bare. A hundred different sigils and symbols on each arm, ink crawled up his neck like the collar of a closely fitted shirt. Black and colored ropes of pictures disappeared underneath his shirt. Strong hands, with muscles that danced beneath the images as he moved. Bones wore his skin like a shield, a barrier to hold at bay those who wouldn’t put in the time to know who he is. Who didn't care enough to learn about the man behind the bars written on his skin. The ink as isolating as any jail cell unless you held the key.

Ester has been on her own since she was ten. She spent much of that time on the run from her own fears, failing to escape from the demons in her mind. Her life on the fringe of society has given her a unique perspective on humanity, and a cautious but abiding curiosity about the nature of people. She sees pain and terror everywhere, except when she looks at him. Bones alone helps relieve the piercing agony of her thoughts.

He should be frightening to a woman like her. But he wasn't. He isn't.

18+ due to explicit content.

*Please note this book is part of the Rebel Wayfarers MC book series, featuring characters from additional books in the series. If the books are read out of order, you’ll twig to spoilers for the other books, so going back to read the skipped titles won’t have the same angsty reveals. I strongly recommend you read them in order. Available now: Mica (book #1), Slate (book #2), Bear (book #3), Jase (book #4), Gunny (book #5), Mason (book #6), Hoss (book #7), Duck (book #8), Watcher (book #9), and Bones (book #10). Upcoming titles in the series include: Fury (book #11), and Cassie (book #12).

This was a first time read by this author. Let me tell you I couldn’t have been more shocked and drawn into the story than I was.

Picture walking into an MC hangout or pub. A plume of smoke clouding the air. One old timer balancing on the back legs of his chair while tossing back his favorite brew. A glimmer sparkles, radiating from the dark depths of his eyes as the other brother’s he’s sitting with is shooting the shit of way back when.

Across from him is another, laughing his ass off in merriment, totally engrossed building up the punchline of the story he’s telling. This is what I envisioned Marialisa Demora doing as she craftily wrote Bones. Now whether it's true or not and all of the story is a work of fiction was completely astounding. This amazing author captivated me from first page to the last.

I really enjoyed the sex, sweet butts and old ladies not being the focal points. But the journey of that special someone making a lasting impressions and you never forgot them. How their lives touched everyone around them, regardless of how kooky they seemed. Top all that off with lies coming out of the wood works, traitors you may have once trusted…throw in some supremo brotherhood alpha men and dayummmmm just can’t rave enough.

Bones + Ester = 5+ STARS

BLOWN AWAY!!

I have LOVED, and I mean truly loved every book in the Rebel Waferer MC series. Every brother and his woman. Every danger the club has faced. New friends, old enemies and devastating losses. My heart has felt every emotion imaginable.

But Bones blew every previous book out. of. the. park. Never has a Hero of the story captivated me so quickly nor has a heroine inspired me so deeply. Bones and Ester are the truest of soulmates I have ever come across and while they slowly make their way to each other, Bones is tasked with helping untangle the web of deceit and disloyalty that the club has been dealt.

With all the MC drama necessary to keep the story within the genre and relevant to the series, MariaLisa deMora did one thing better. She topped it all off with a romance that was on the verge of poetic. Just the way they spoke. Gah, it just got to me. Bones proper and eloquent way of words had me swooning from beginning to end. Ester's thoughts and view on life inspired me to see things her way. Both people with hard, difficult childhoods became to be two of the most beautiful characters I've ever had the pleasure to meet.

Ester and Bones were from completely different worlds yet from the moment they met they recognized their soulmate and in a slow dance that was more private and more intimate than any naked tango a love developed that warmed my heart. It gave me hope and filled me with joy.

This book was simply outstanding!!

FAVORITE QUOTES:

Pierced by a thousand needles, he wore his life on his skin.

Bones. He was so beautiful it tore my heart in two, and I felt the fluttering clasp of it dancing through my chest, edges mending back into something different, a more whole heart than I’d ever known.

My beauty, Bones thought, checking traffic before he pulled back out, slowly increasing his speed, riding away from her and no longer caring when she had become his. She simply was.

“I saw you fall, beauty. I saw your face. I could not bear to see the world without you in it. It would be so bleak without your presence. You needed saving. So”—a squeeze, and I liked the squeeze nearly as much as I liked him calling me beauty—“I saved you.”

No one’s ever gotten me happy as a gift before. Not before you. You give me happy all the time, even when you don’t know it, Bonesy.”

“I find myself without words, beauty. You giving me this, giving me you. I see you, Ester. You will never be lost again.” This last was a vow he hoped she understood. “Forever found. All my life, I will hold you together.” Rocking his hips, he stroked out, then back in, deeper. “You are the thing I have looked for.” She’d been honest with him, so he handed her that same trust. “You see me. You see past the bars and barriers. You see me, and you are not afraid. Not distracted by the disguise. This is a precious thing, Ester.” Pace building, his words came in gusts on each hard breath. “You see me like no one ever has.”

Wow! My brain has been on overload the several days it took me to read this book! There was just so much going on, so much old and new information and names that I felt like my head was in a secluded bubble with only the RWMC as the occupants...scary.

Once again my lovely MdM just had to go into details regarding Watcher and that shit made me cry during his book, so yeah it made me cry during this book as well, especially since there were more details and various POVs. OMG..when Juanita was talking to Watcher, the scene where Bones was hearing her...broke my heart! I feel like she's going to be all right, she's strong enough to go on without him, she has her two girls and the MC, but still, his loss was so fucking profound.

Absolutely loved Bones and Ester! They were so fucking perfect for each other! Ester took a piece of my heart, what happened to her was just so horrific, so disgusting, I seriously wanted to melt into this book and put those who hurt her in the fucking ground!!! Glad she had Bones looking out for her... always looking out for her. Their love was just pure sunshine, I can't describe it any other way!

Mason...love me some Mason and we get loads of Mason in this book, so I was a happy camper! Even the small tidbits we get of Willa, I grasped with both hands. I just love those two together and I will say this again, I'm so glad he ended up with Willa and not Mica.

I will say that MdM needs to provide some sort of family tree because I swear every time we are privileged with another RWMC book, there are so many more characters and I'm not ashamed to admit that I get super fucking confused.

Overall as with all its predecessors, this was another great addition though I am a bit disheartened that we didn't get to find out more about Crystal, Justine and the takedown between Mason, Bones, Shooter and Morgan.

"Beauty and her Bones."

I never dreamed when I started this journey how hard I would fall for the characters in the Rebel Wayfarers MC series. The author takes me deep, from past to present, from pain to passion. I've spent so much time getting to know each of them, that I feel like they are family. I've laughed and cried, blushed and melted, held my breath and bit my nails to nubs. Enjoying every second, anticipating yet dreading the end of each book. Never getting enough, always wanting more...

Bones is a big man with a big heart, hidden behind colorful tattoos. When strangers see him, they are usually afraid of him. But she wasn't. Ester was afraid of a lot of things, and she has reason to be, but not him. For some reason, their connection was immediate and deep. They felt each other on another level. Ester is very conscious of her surroundings, having developed very strong survival skills. She has had to learn to be observant, and to interpret intent, always alert and ready to hide as needed. She is quite good at blending into her surroundings, choosing not to be seen. But he sees her. He seeks her out, enjoying spending time with her, listening to her unique perspective. He calls her Beauty, before he even knows her name. He looks out for her from afar, knowing she would refuse his help. She softens him, without him even realizing it happened. She's very strong to have survived so long on the streets, but at the same time she's fragile. He wants her, but he knows she is skittish and if he moves too fast he will risk losing her. And that's not an option. From the beginning, in his heart, he claimed her as his.

Ester has nightmares. She's homeless for a reason. She doesn't want to be found. Or at least she didn't, until him. When Bones starts showing up at her hangouts, she figures out it's not coincidence. Not understanding why, but accepting the gift of his presence, she thrives on his attention. "No more Sunday or Monday, just Bonesday." She is intrigued by his tattoos, wishing she could inspect every inch and learn what they said about him, knowing that they were his 'stories'. When he happens to show up at exactly the right time to save her from situations, she doesn't question it. He's her protector.

They are a most unlikely pair, but perfect at the same time. Their friendship grows as they spend time getting to know each other, building a trust between them that is rare for people forced to fight for their lives. I anxiously waited for the time that he would take it further. I wanted him to claim her out loud, not just in his heart. I wanted her to tell him her secrets. My heart was overflowing with feelings as I read their thoughts and feelings, knowing how they felt before they shared it with each other. I melted into a puddle more than once, and I shed a tear, more than once. I fell in love with them both, and added them to my favorite cast of characters collection that is continually growing as each new book in this amazing series is released. And now that I know who the next book will feature, I'm making room to add him to that collection. The line forms here...

Holy crap! Fast paced and action packed, so much happened in this book I just couldn’t put it down. Bones and Ester met in a most unusual way which seemed par for the course really in how they spent the next couple of years, only getting fleeting moments with each other, until finally Bones had no choice but to literally pick her up and take her away from where she was. These two were so damn sweet with each other, and both with their quirky ways of talking it was sometimes like they were from the days of old or from a Shakespeare-like time. I liked that though! If was different, and different is good sometimes.

Not only was the story about Bones meeting his Ester though, but we got more info on what happened in past books, we got gunfights, babies, huge secrets revealed, new members and even what we’ve all been waiting for… the confrontation of the enemies that have been plaguing the Rebels from the beginning!

I really enjoyed this one, wish I could give it more than the 5 stars I’m allowed and can’t wait for more from this world. I’d also like to read a bit more about Myron and Opie, see if they get their own person. Maybe they will get their own short story? I don’t know but I’ll be reading whatever MariaLisa deMora decides to gift us with as they are my needings. 😊

I am a HUGE fan of the Rebel Wayfarers MC series. Each book gets me more firmly attached to all these wonderful characters. Bones is no exception. He has made appearances in several of the previous books. But now, we get a deeper look into the connections he started forming in the earlier books. I am deeply in love with Bones and Ester's story. Ester has a very different outlook on life than most people her age. She looks at things and situations almost like a child would. She could not have been more perfect for Bones. I knew that whoever claimed his heart would be exceptional. She makes him think differently, outside the box. Their connection is soul deep. Their interactions are beautiful, full of all the feels. Watching Ester grow to who she becomes with Bones was an emotional ride that had me in tears of joy. This book has easily become one of my favorites in the series. I am loving the direction that the storyline as a whole is going, and can't wait to get my hands on the next Rebel!

This series just keeps getting better while building anticipation on what’s to happen next in the RWMC. Our beloved Mason continues to arrange people and situations to his and the Rebel’s benefit while the reader experiences just how much effort it takes to do the job of a national president. As Bones weaves himself through the years, first as a Skeptic then a Rebel, he also weaves himself into a cautious relationship throughout the seasons with his Beauty, Ester who wants doings not things. As they dance around each other Bones finds his heart and finally understands Ester’s strange way of looking at the world. Neither of them had an easy start to life but Bones who covers himself in tattoos to mark his journey and keep others at bay is surprised to learn that Ester truly sees him beneath the markings. Ester and Bones are strong characters in their own right and are surrounded by secondary characters we have met before making this story more. There are twists and turns to the dealings and conflicts from before and new surprises that pop up. The next book can’t come fast enough!

I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I was kept interested. The story has laughs, pain, love, betrayal, secrets, grief, healing, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Mica (Rebel Wayfarers MC, #1)
A Sweet & Merry Christmas (Rebel Wayfarers MC, #1.5)
Slate (Rebel Wayfarers MC, #2)
Bear (Rebel Wayfarers MC, #3)
Jase (Rebel Wayfarers MC, #4)
Gunny (Rebel Wayfarers MC #5)
Mason (Rebel Wayfarers MC, #6)
Hoss (Rebel Wayfarers MC #7)
Harddrive Holidays (Rebel Wayfarers MC, #7.5)
Duck (Rebel Wayfarers MC #8)
Watcher (Rebel Wayfarers MC, #9)

This is Ester and Bones’s story. Bones has done a lot in his life and it’s written in the stories of his tattoos. He meets Ester one night in a dark ally. He saves her and then she saves him. He watches her for months and takes care of her the only way she will let him. When she becomes ill he can finally get her to come to his home and live with him. Ester has had a hard life. Living on the streets is how she spent years of her life. It was not much better before the streets. She has pain in her past she tries not to remember but it makes he a certain way with how she lives and who she trusts. She trusted Bones right from the beginning and that was something that never happened before. He made her feel safe. But her dealings with people are different then his. He must teach her how to trust and let a few people into her life. She makes Bones feel alive and not like a monster. Where another woman would run from him Ester runs to him. As these two a forming a relationship Bones must help Mason deal with a traitor. They need to figure out who is loyal and who is not. The lose brothers in the process but also gain a few new members. When secrets of the past come out will it bring the club closer or further apart? Ester also has secrets but she is about to meet someone from her past she has missed over the years. Now she gets a second chance to be with that person.

I loved both characters. Bones is a deep thinker and it makes him a great leader. He even gets Mason thinking about different things during the story. He also loves deeply. As always you get background from the characters as they grow and learn. You get the ups and downs of them both. You get so much out of MariaLisa’s books. She pulls you in and then introduces you around to all the characters you knew from previous books. You get to see different sides and new prospective from them. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this series.

Josie's Review

I’ve followed this series from the very beginning and have always been curious as to who Bones was and I’m so happy to finally get this story. MariaLisa is an incredible, talented author. It’s in the words she writes, her character development and the storylines she comes up with. I get lost in her stories every time. I feel like I’m there and watching this series unfold slowly while falling in love with the characters. Bones story flows beautifully throughout every page and the characters connection was perfect.

Bones is a lost character with no real purpose in life and it had been that way for him for a long time until a chance encounter with Esther and everything clicked into place. Bones was an exceptionally written character. He’s so caring and very loyal. He really felt like more than a character that was created. He really came across as someone real. He was not perfect, he was a fierce force of nature but when it came to Esther he was soft, patient and oh so sweet.

Esther’s story broke my heart but that’s what I’ve come to expect with this author. None of her characters have a perfect life, they’ve suffered some way or another in lives. Esther is so innocent and lives a harsh and cruel life but she’s happy. She’s happy for the little things in life that she can get. When her life takes her straight into the path of Bones, her world truly becomes brighter.
This story is so much more than a love story. The Rebel Wayfarer are out for justice and seeking a family member of a fallen brother. We get different POV’S from some of our favorite characters from the past as they try and avenge the life of their fallen brothers. This book is fill with suspense, promise and grief but it’s so beautiful. I absolutely loved how Bones and Esther relationship grew over time. It wasn’t something that just happened quickly. Their love for one another can be felt with the innocent dialogues, talks and small moments they shared. There was no doubt in my that these two were made for each other. As usual the Rebel Wayfarer family are strong and their bonds unbreakable despite the obstacles they encounter. They merge together as one and get things handled. Rebels Forever….. Forever Rebels is truly fitting of the members. I can’t wait to see where MariaLisa will take her readers next.

Bones and Ester ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

A one of kind story by an Author that grabs and drags you into her world. Bones and Ester story is original and only MariaLisa DeMora could bring this story to life. Make sure to read the books in order but this lady is the Queen of world building. I do realize there are a lot of books but none are the same and each has a different and original story.

I swear, I need to pace myself when I read these. I start out...reading...at a casual pace... and then oh! that was intense and thenohmygodIhavetoknowwhathappensnextandthen...it's over and I have to get off the ride, I have to disengage myself from Wayfarerdom and go back to my rebel-less real life. ML's stories are like a good roadtrip. Exhilarating, satisfying, and always too short for my liking:)

LOVED IT!!!

If I've said it once, I've said it 10 times! I love my Rebel Wayfarers, I had a hard time understanding Esther's plight, but then Bones pulled it all into perspective for me. As you can see I talk about these characters as if I know them but that's just what this author's storytelling does for me, that's why love them so much! Booyah on my way to book 11.

More DeMora Magic

I've always thought of the Rebels and their families as an extension of my personal circle of friends. With each book I've got to know them a little better, sharing a part of their lives, and loves, in a way that’s changed my world for the better.
In this 10th novel of this awesome series, this remains true. But this time MariaLisa DeMora has presented her female lead via the first person POV, giving us an even deeper insight into the workings of Ester's mind. Bones' description of her as "beautiful and fey, gentle and kind-hearted" is enriched by the perspective we get through the quirky inner ramblings of this tortured soul. And thus with Ester, and equally with Bones, our fictional friendship is developed through the gradual unravelling of personality and heart, the intricate layering of characters for which I so admire this author.
And then there is the way she weaves their stories together, melding her protagonists’ hearts only after embroiling us in their separate tales and the wider tapestry of the Rebel Wayfarers MC. There is a distinct rhythm in this writer’s work, a heartbeat that accelerates with the adrenaline charged action, then shifts to 2 heartbeats when love is found, and drops to a steady calm pace once peace is found. Perfection. That’s how I think of this woman’s writing throughout this series. And it just keeps getting better.

MariaLisa deMora has an unusual and fascinating way of writing. Bones is the tenth book in her Rebel Wayfarers MC series. But her unique way of interjecting the continuing personal lives of the members, both past and present, has us seeing each character’s stories from their perspectives. This means that her books are not just love and romance stories, but pieces of points of views.

This time, we are introduced into the life of Salvador “Bones” Ramos. He is an outlaw, but throughout the previous installments, we were only given glimpses to this complicated character. He always listens, never acts too fast, and he becomes a confidant to Mason, the Wayfarers’ president. But he’s lonely. He ability to watch and read people has him noticing Ester, a homeless young woman, who saves him after he saves her. He becomes fascinated because he can see the beauty in her.
MariaLisa’s exceptional story telling lets us see Bones and Ester’s story as it unfolds over years, as well as giving us more insight to the events that occurring in the Wayfarers MC. 4.5 stars for the wonderful read.

This is my confession: I've been disappointed.

Why you ask? I'll tell ya'. Every installment of the Rebel Wayfarer's MC series, I tell myself: There is NO WAY this book can be topped. Again...Im disappointed - in the best ways possible - because each installment gets better and better.

MariaLisa deMora is a literary marksman with the way she places her words. Words that are just...more than just something put to type. They evoke emotions on all differant levels, place you inside the book. You will find yourself cowering in an alley with Esther, feeling the fear trickle down the clammy skin of your back. You will stand next to Bones and peer into the inky night sky. The love that you will feel between Bones and his Beauty will warm the coldest of hearts.

In the Indie world that is flooded with monotony, this author sets the bar on what you yearn for.

ML deMora is such a wonderful wordsmith. This book is absolutely fantastic. I can't gush about it more. I have wanted to know Bones' story since I read Slate for the first time and I was not disappointed. He and Ester are such phenomenally complex characters. I love reading ML because she gives you the life of her characters and not just a glimpse into a small portion of their life. You will fall in love with Bones and Ester just as I have. And the suspense aspect does not disappoint. You are left anxiously panting for the next in the series to be released. I know I am.
This is book 10 in her Rebel Wayfarers series. I highly recommend you read them all and in order to get the full Rebel experience. Be forwarned that these books are a continuation of one another and are interwoven with the other books in the series.

Bones's story continues in the Rebel Wayfarer series and it just keeps getting better and better. Bringing insight into who Bones is as a person and brother to how he is intertwined with the series and this brotherhood. Not forgetting him meeting his girl Ester. I loved her. One thing MariaLisa does with her characters is she create them in a way that make them vulnerable and versatile. It was good to read them and to also read about the other characters from past stories. This is to me just a all around good series and makes me happy that I get to be apart of it.

I had preordered this book the end of January and I was so excited to win an ARC from ML and it arrived early on Valentine's Day! I have been hooked on the RWMC since book one! Book ten tells Bones's story. I have been waiting on this and believe me it is worth the wait!!!! Bones and Ester both have pasts and neither believe in relationships.
