Crown of Death #4

Crown of Bones

Rate this book
The time for blood has returned. Logan’s biological father has been building an army to rise against the Crown, to challenge Cyrus and Sevan for control over the vampires, and their voices will be heard: every one of them is a rightful Royal.

He is not the only one who is tired of hiding in the shadows. Other family members lost their lives trying to bring all vampires into the spotlight, to show the world what they are capable of. With this many descendants, with this much bad blood, this will be a war fought with enemies new and old. This is the same war the King and Queen fought over a thousand years ago. It will be a battle to the death to keep the vampires’ secret.

But time has always been Sevan’s greatest enemy, and now it is running out in every way. The Crown, the safety of the humans and the world, Logan’s time with Cyrus…

It all comes to an end in the finale of the Blood Descendants Universe.

Low-key pissed at the ending.

First off, I hate how weak the entire court and royals were, especially Logan and Cyrus. I get maybe the court being weak because they have been pampered, but Logan and Cyrus have been through this before and have all the money and vampires at their feet, they should have been way more prepared for a potential mutiny or war. And I hate how half the book is them being just that, weak.

Then I also hate the whole Logan/Sevan situation. I hate how even she didn't know who she was at the moment, and switching back from Logan to Sevan, and Cyrus calling her Logan all the time, and not Sevan, just pissed me off and it was all so confusing. Like, you're one or the other, with the memories of the past, so please pick one. And it was also super disappointing that it just seemed to me like he cared more for Logan than Sevan, when the only reason he fell in love with Logan was because he was picking up on Sevan's habits basically. Like they're literally the same person, yet the author is going the route of making it two different people and it feels like a competition to me on who is who or who Cyrus loves more. While I did feel the love he had for Sevan, I just hate how everytime he said "I love you", it was to Logan. The whole situation was just way too complicated than it should have been.

Then we have the actual ending. While I do like that it came full circle, and that they're finally living the life Sevan wanted, after living 2 thousand years of the life Cyrus wants, it was still disappointing. I never felt like I truly got time with Sevan and Cyrus after she is a vampire, except for those of flashbacks. I wanted to see how they normally rule and how different he was with her through other's reactions, but instead, the entire series was debating if she was Logan or Sevan, and then straight into war. I never got time with just the two of them as vampires or seeing how the court work from the inside, and I hate how that's how their love story ends after all these books of wondering. I also hate how we never got babies. To come full circle, I fully expected she would get pregnant again and for them to do it right this time and let her get the pregnancy she always wanted when she was human, so that was a HUGE disappointment.

One last thing I didn't like, was I felt like the ending was super rushed. We get more than half the book of them preparing for war and then fighting and then death, but the actual ending was super rushed. I hate that Malachi and Dorian both died and they barely had grief for them, and I hate how we had very vague aftermath of the world's public exposure to vampires. I do hope there is going to be another spin-off so we can see, with maybe Eshan or Henry or Rath as the leads.

Now, although there was tons about the book I hated, I still enjoyed it overall🤷 it gave me big time anxiety, and my worst fears came true😭 but I also legit sobbed more than half the book, and I felt the love from Cyrus and his dread and worries, and I was right there with him. The writing from the first book in this universe has also improved tremendously. There is still quite a lot repetition, but it didn't necessarily annoy me as much in this one. There is more depth, emotions, chemistry, and just a better plot in this series than there were in the precious ones. So although I hated how some thing turned out, I did thoroughly enjoy the series overall, so 4 stars just for that.

As always, Keary never fails to deliver and epic ending to an amazing series.

I really have no idea what to say without giving too much away. You must read the previous 3 books in this series to know exactly what is going on and why they are now entering the same war they fought over a thousand years ago. Outside of that, this review will be quite short as I do not want to give much away - it's best read with as little known details as possible.

The blurb pretty much surmises what you get in this book, HOWEVER, it's Keary's amazing writing talents that make this story so outstanding. The details and how the story is plotted out is quite unique and very enthralling. The secondary characters play just as much of an integral role in everything as Cyrus and Sevan.

And I love how Keary spun the romantic portion into this and blended it perfectly - it's never too much and always just right the touch. For as much as I despised Cyrus when he was first introduced in House of Royals, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know how he became King Cyrus and all that led to this ending.

Bravo Keary on another excellent series in this world. I pray that this isn't the end of this world, completely.

Once again, I am uncertain about how I feel about this. The story idea for this series is so good! When I first read the House of Royals series and I heard Cyrus's story I wanted more! I would often think back to it. I am a little less sure of how it was executed. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed reading this series. Some parts were better than others and at some points I wished things had gone in a different direction. But overall it was an enjoyable read. I mean reincarnated lost loves, war in Austria, and vampires!

description

I felt like we walked away from the plot halfway through this book. All of a sudden we were not a part of the war anymore. I didn't like that the vampires came out to the world and we had no part in it. It became a side point when it was the main plot for a while. It almost seems like there were too many loose ends and chaos to finish the book that she gave up and just decided the characters were not a part of it anymore. I don't know if I liked how everything ended. I liked the curse being fixed, but I am unsure about them becoming humans and living removed lives. I guess it just doesn't fit them for me. However, I did like that Cyrus had one last game to play.

Now that everything is out in the open and the world knows about vampires I wonder if Taylor will have another spin off series.

Series overview: loved the idea, would have preferred different execution, but it entertained me none the less.

An End Brings New Beginnings!💥👑💘
Audiobook 🎧
Crown of Bones: Blood Descendant Universe (Crown of Death, Book 4)
By: Keary Taylor
Narrated by: Claire Buchignani
Length: 8 hrs and 47 mins
(Read Using Kindle Unlimited)

The vampires secret society of 2000+ years is now exposed to the entire world!🌎💥 The war brought by Lazarus and Moab still rages on, leaving Cyrus, Logan and all that are loyal to them, to keep fighting! They have to try and win so that more chaos won't spread later. They've never wanted to try and claim dominion over the humans, so they must fight to prevent that outcome!

First their oldest grandson, Moab, the biggest threat must be ended. Shortly after that fight it becomes clear that Logan/Sevan is again dying. She's never resurrected for such a short life before, they've only had weeks together this time. It's heart breaking.💔 Cyrus begs her birth mother for help.🙏

This was a much more emotive read than the others. The losses, general and personal, were grave and countless.😥 The final decision Cyrus makes was pivotal for Sevan's forever rest.😇 How choice was monumental after so many lifetimes, but it was the right one.

This was a good series conclusion. I don't know what happened to the disaster that was book #2, but I'm glad I persevered with the whole series!⭐

Actually finished this yesterday, last night in fact. Wanted to take a day to process it before I wrote my review. This is the finale of the Blood Descendants series, the final time we will see Alivia, Elle, Logan, Cyrus and all the others.

It's all been leading up to this, the Vampire War to end it all, the end of Sevan and Cyrus' story and everything has changed in the aftermath of it. I really liked the series, I'm not giving 5 stars because for some reason I don't think I've ever warmed to Logan, that's just me though I'm sure. There may be spoilers so I'm sorry about that. I thought this was to be more about the vampire war, but it's really more the love story of Cyrus and Sevan/Logan. (Is she Logan? Is she Sevan? Is she both? who knows). Nothing wrong with that, because I like Cyrus and have through all the books and I was happy to see the end of his story. The story rattles along at a great pace and there's not a single wasted moment. I have a couple of nitpicks that I won't go into because HUGE spoilers but overall I really liked it. Great ending to the story and wraps up most of the loose ends nicely too. (And I still don't hate Ian as much as everyone else seems to ;) )

How is it the end already?! While I am not ready for this series to be completed, how Keary was able to wrap up the series as a whole with Crown of Bones is phenomenal. While the other books have stood well on their own, this one really requires that the reader has read at least the Crown of Death series in order to fully understand what all is going on. SO if you haven't read the previous 3, I *highly* recommend doing so before reading Crown of Bones.
**POSSIBLY SPOILER ALERT!!**
But the battle is finally here and Cyrus and Sevan are standing together as one ready to take on not on not only the Vampire universe but also the world. What has started as a revenge plot quickly spreads to much more - more than either Cyrus or Sevan were prepared for. Friend and enemy must unite with the hopes of stopping treachery from spreading beyond their boundaries all while Cyrus and Sevan must face their own ultimate and final choices.
Wonderful read and HIGHLY recommend with just a touch of a cliff hanger at the end which fits perfectly with Keary's style. And who knows - maybe there will be more BDU books in our future??

I am in love with this book. The chemistry between Logan and Cyrus is immense. I will say that my favorite part of this book was the fighting scenes. There were plenty since they are in the middle of a war but they were amazing. The detail that Keary Taylor went into when talking about the way that people were killed by Sevan and Cyrus was the best part. It made them more badass in my opinion. There were definitely comedic relief parts which in my opinion made it better because it gave me a break from tears and anger that I was feeling while reading. I've read all of Keary Taylor's books and I keep getting hooked on every one of them. It was a great read and I highly recommend this book series and the whole Blood Descendants Universe. I hope there is more to come.

Well, here we are at the end. The end of a series of series, and I think this last book was a very satisfying read. Ok, truthfully, that’s not completely true: I want more. Much more. I really want to say why I want more of but I don’t want to spoil the end. (I will say one tiny thing: I want to see who wins Cyrus’ game. Does that intrigue you?) I can say that this book had me crying, laughing, gasping, and I was filled with sadness that this is the end because the author says so after the epic conclusion. The journey to this point was very satisfying and I loved every minute, and I came to love every single character in the whole Blood Descendants series. Yes, even Ian. You need to read this series, and start at the very beginning as all the feels are so worth it. Highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

This is the final book in the Crown of Death series from Keary Taylor, and as difficult as I find it is to write this I was disappointed with the conclusion.
Keary once again shows us her brilliance, her writing draws you into the story making you feel, almost as if your a part of this world. I found in this book, the plot seemed rushed, there was too much going on and not enough time to take it all in. I felt myself having to reread parts to make sense of what was going on.
The book was great, I actually finished it a week ago but really had to give myself time to process what I read.
I have given it 4 stars, I do recommend this series to anyone, Keary's universe is incredible it's just that I have come to expect a certain virtuosity from her work and for me, this installment didn't have it.

Hang on with both hands! Keary Taylor’s Blood Descendants Universe is one crazy thrill ride!

I have read each and every volume of Taylor’s Blood Descendants Universe. You’d think a reader might get tired of the same characters and the same world. You would be wrong. So wrong.

Taylor knows how to build a world. I hung on with both hands to the very last page, and then I mourned a little that there wouldn’t be more.

The wonderful thing about Keary Taylor’s imagination is that it causes the reader to stretch their own. I’ll imagine a continuation of the story for her characters for years to come, and that means she has done her job as a writer.

Bravo, Ms. Taylor! I cannot wait to read whatever it is you come up with next!

This book is the final book in the Blood Descendants series. If you haven't read the others then you really need to read those first.

This book is about the final battle. The all out war between the Vampires. It is jam packed from beginning to end and really draws you in as you want to know how the final battle ends. It also gives us the relationship of King Cyrus and Logan/Sevan, which I absolutely adored reading, simply because for a long time Cyrus was this hard leader of all vampires and when he finally gets Sevan back you get a glimpse of the real Cyrus. I really enjoyed the whole thing and would highly recommend it to any fan that has read the other books and if you haven't, then why not?

I literally cried my way through a lot of this last book of a saga that has taken my heart. I've been twisted, gutted and I've wept. I have also been jubilant and celebrated this amazing universe that Ms. Taylor has created. She's gifted us readers with memorable, loveable and frightening characters that have and will continue to stay with us. The ending was poignant and beautifully brilliant and just exactly what I would have wished for 💗 I've been willingly addicted for a year now to these characters and it's a very sad feeling to have to be a part from them. I cannot wait to see what Keary Taylor gives us next!! She is absolutely a creative genius and there is no limit to her imagination. 💗💗💗

A roller coaster ride of twists and turns

I usually abhor books sold in parts that make me feel like I’m paying a ransom to have the story told. In all fairness, if someone asked me to pay $17 for a digital book, I probably wouldn’t do it. But I digress...
If you can get over the feeling of being taken advantage of, you will not be disappointed with the unexpected twists and turns the plot will take you on. You can’t predict how the story unfolds. It’s well worth the money. There isn’t a way to describe these stories without ruining it for you.
For once I didn’t feel the heroine in the story was too stupid to live and never have I seen a couple cock blocked so many times in a story that spans 4 books. Bloody and violent but also fun and entertaining. Great read.

Well... Where to start? I read this series very quickly. I enjoyed the first 3 books for the most part. This last book however, I am not crazy about it. I feel like there were to many things not explained by the end (maybe these answers are in a spinoff series I have yet to read). I also did not like the ending and I am not talking about the vampires being exposed. I wanted Logan and Cyrus to have a different ending. I thought with the story showing us how this is the first time in 2 thousand years that Cyrus has come to love someone other than Sevan and Sevan accepting Logan that it would be the reason the curse breaks. But I was wrong. What happened seemed to easy and clean. Just my opinion.

Wonderful ending!

So I can say I loved this book, but I'm gonna tell you why I only have four stars. So granted this book is short with only 220 some pages, I feel like there was some good action and suspense for the first 75%. Then it feels like the author wanted to hurry up and finish the book so she crammed a lot of action into literally one chapter. So she takes almost the whole book to explain how bad this battle is and then just like that it's over. To me if it was that easy why didn't we just do this in the beginning? Overall still loved the book and loved the ending. This is what happens when people choose love over hate.

First off I have to say that this book tied in everything that I was hoping it would and it was all tied to a big tragic and happy bow at the end. There were so many little key points within this book which is a testament for the amazing ability Keary Taylor has for the details. I am sad to see the end of this series which has kept me entertained for such a long time. I can't wait to see what is next.

Is Cyrus's birthday an awesome way to emotionally connect with all of those bibliophiles that will read the book and finish it within 24 hours?

A great piece of music has three mains parts, the introduction, the climax and thuen the end. When all three flow together seamlessly you are left feeling that it was amazing.
This book is like a great piece of music. The rest of the series are the introduction and the climax, and this book finishes th climax off and gives you an amazing ending. One that leaves you at peace and content.

Not much more I can say but this was a great read and a great finale to what is one of my favourite series ever.

We done Keary, your mind is beautiful.

Wow, I decided I would write a review for all 4 books here, I'm not great at writing them but I have to say I went into this blind all I knew was that it was about Vampires and I'm glad I have really enjoyed these books each and everyone while I feel a few things kept getting repeated over and over I really liked Logan there were a few parts that I had a little trouble keeping up, I won't say why as it would spoil it but once I got it I found that all these books were really well written and sucked me in.

Wow what an incredible finale, everything starts to fall apart for Cyrus and Logan. We have enemies near and unfortunately the whole world joins in thanks to the other players opening the worlds eyes. Can they fight for their way of life and also fight for the lives both crave with each other??
Amazing story and plot, loved the characters although part of this story is saddening as we lose both good and bad. Our love story flares strong but will they be able to finally win each other while the world changes forever?? Highly recommend as it kept me gripped all the way through.

What a fucking ending OMG.

I've had a love/hate relationship with this series but I gotta give the author her due: she staked the ever loving fuck out of that ending.

Cyrus hiding his crown and making it a game is PEAK Cyrus being Cyrus. The fact that both OG grandsons were killed was a shock! When Cyrus agreed to step down, I figured it would have been one of them taking over.

She said it's the last book in the world, but she left enough crumbs that left the door back ajar. I don't know if I'll step back in if she does.

Wow! This book was action packed all the way through. The love story of Cyrus and Logan (separate from his love of Sevan) was amazing! Although there were a couple of deaths of characters I had grown to love, I don't see any other way it could have concluded. Keary Taylor did an amazing job of tying all the storylines together and wrapping them up. I highly recommend this book and the entire series starting with House of Royals.

Ahhhhh I still can’t believe this is the end. Or i hope atleast for this series of Logan and Cyrus. Keary has done an awesome job with this book as she always does. It satisfies a lot of questions, brings out so many emotions in me, and makes me crave for more. I liked Cyrus even more, though the change between Logan/Sevan still confuses me a bit. But overall, its been quite a journey reading thru the whole series and I have definitelt love it.

Well, what can I say? An end of an era!! I love where this story arc went, it was exciting, interesting, different and had an ending that says......yup this is the end but I could come back in the future!
The story was compelling and written well, sad in places but ultimately just the ending we all wanted !! Can't wait to read the completely new book Keary is writing and hope she will one day come back to blood decendants universe in the future :)

Amazing

This entire series will keep you up at night reading, biting your nails and reading some more! Seriously, hard to put down!! I am saddened that this is the final book in this universe. I always felt King Cyrus was judged too hard. I know being king got to his head and he did a lot of terrible things, but deep down he was lonely and missed his wife. I wont give anything away, because the stories are too good.

Excellent series

The ending was great. Most loose ends were tied and of course the love interest between Cyrus and Logan/Seven was wonderful in all of their various aspects.

†*******************SPOILER****************

Although, I enjoyed the ending, I would love to know how the world finally and truly adapted. Along with how the chaos was finally tamed. However, even with these questions, I enjoyed the book and ending.

Wow!!

What a fabulous ending. There was so much destruction and death in this book.
Cyrus and Logan's final book is here and it was fabulous.
There was a lot of sadness and tears in this book.
The war was central to the story in this book but there was a lot of story with regard to Logan's curse as she starts to deteriorate.
I enjoyed this series as I was eager to read more after each book and wanting to know how it ends and how certain conflicts end.
Fabulous!!!!
