With My Whole Heart #1

With My Whole Heart

Rate this book
With My Whole Heart is a complicated story about family.

Jaime’s a young, single mother who is trying to make ends meet, feeling like she's always waging an uphill battle to make sure she and her son are housed, fed, and healthy. Connor’s designed his life to stay too busy for relationships.

How complicated is it?

She’s his big brother's surrogate, and he’s the sperm donor. How in the hell would this ever work? Connor didn't know, but he was determined to convince the feisty little blonde to take a chance on him. What he didn't realize was it meant taking a chance on himself, too.

Caution: This isn't an MC story. If you're looking for grit, you'll need to get your hard on somewhere else. No one gets kidnapped or assaulted in this one. Or even runs around without underwear on, I mean ... the hero wears boxers at one point. Come on! It's like I don't know the me who wrote it. Plus it's super sappy in places, and an unusual story setup. It's not a feckin' unicorn, but it'll do.

This was a solid, fast read. The story is cute, the writing is decent, it left me with positive thoughts after I finished it. I thought the themes were handled very well, and I really liked the chemistry between the characters. A perfect read for fans of romance.
This was my first experience with a MariaLisa deMora book, and I'm definitely gonna pick up another one soon.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

I cannot describe how much I loved this book. This is one of those books that drags you in from page 1 and keeps you hooked until you read the last page.
This story just touched my heart so much and maybe shed a few tears along the way.

I have to say that as a mother you have to admire these women who makes the decision to help another couple have a baby when they can't. Its heartbreaking to think that you carry a child for nine months and then you have to give it to someone else. I think its admirable and so brave and so compassionate.

I love everything about this story. I loved Marie and Cooped (the couple wanting the baby) and then to introduce Connor it was surprising. Jamie and Cooper together just worked from the start. And even though Jaime was independent and looked after herself and her son Nate she didn't even know that she someone to put her needs first for a change.
And man let me not start on little Nate, man he was adorable. He loved his mother so fiercely and protected her against anything and everything.

This book will have you invested from the start and will make you fall in love with all the characters. Definitely a book that I could see reading again and I am recommending this book to everyone.

Well Done to this author

I adored this story and I've read it in one sitting.

With My Whole Heart was the first book written by MariaLisa deMora I've read and I'm almost sure it won't be the last because I've really liked her writing.

I've loved Jamie and Connor chemistry and their connection at the first sight, and their perseverance to build a wonderful relationship even if their time is completely wrong.
I've liked the heroine big heart and the Hero family bond.

What sacrifices a mother is willing to do to give a dignified life to your son?
What a devoted brother is willing to do for his family?
In this beautiful story we have these answers and follow the journey of our heroes into the happy ending of them.
Jamie is facing economic difficulties and as last resort is willing to serve as a surrogate to get means to survive along with his son and get a life safer for both. She is an amazing mother and makes it possible for the son to have a happy life and surrounded by love.
Our hero Connor has a wonderful family and will do anything for everyone to be happy, but not yet conformed with the loss of his twin brother. He feels guilty and seeks the happiness of everyone leaving his own desires aside.
When I started reading I was imagining all the things that could happen and the variety of emotions involved throughout pregnancy. I was imagined the feelings of all involved with creation of new life and the impact on the lives and relationships of all. Future parents and donors of both the egg and the sperm were all very involved, not only for family ties but also sentimental.
The son of the heroine gave a special spice to the story and I loved his personality and the challenges in raising a special child.
A situation that had everything to go wrong we have a beautiful story where love and family ties triumph over all difficulties and sorrows of life.
I finished reading with a smile on my face and joyful heart.
I recommend to all who want a story full of emotions and good feelings.

With My Whole Heart centers around a down on her luck woman named Jaime who is fighting up stream to make sure her son has everything he needs. Including signing on to be a surrogate for an infertile couple. And Connor the brother of the to-be father, not to mention he's also the sperm donor. No one expected the attraction they would feel. No one expected to fall in love. No one expected that doing this would be a blessing and a heartbreak.

This is my confession: Authors of the MC genre are total 1-trick ponies. No, not so much. Exhibit A) This book. deMora took a subject - one thats pretty raw and taboo - and made it....Not? As someone that is all to familiar with the topic of infertility, I found myself relating to the characters on multiple occasions. This is a topic not easily handled by any means, but in true deMora fashion she did it with grace proving that not only does she have grit for days but heart for even longer.

This is the first novel by this author that I have read, and I gather that her stories are usually much grittier. This didn't deter me and I found this one to be a nice, easy romance with an unusual storyline.
I very much enjoyed the writing style and found no glaring grammatical errors or continuity problems.
Overall, I would check out more by this author based on that, which always makes me happy. I love finding authors who can actually write!!

This book has a special place in my heart. I was pulled in from the first words to the last. I love when a story calls to my heart, when you can honestly relate to the characters. Loving how it touched on a subject where there isn't a lot of stories about it. To make a decision to have another couples child. I give kudos to the women that are able to do this. Infertility is a hard road that couples go through and some experience miracles and joy while others experience loss.
This story has a little of both in it and that is what makes it all the more real to me. I love the side twist with Connor (Marie and Cooper's brother, AKA the sperm donor). Jamie and Connor never thought this would turn into a relationship while she is trying to carry Marie and Cooper's baby. I love how MariaLisa intertwined their stories, really felt the heartache and joy with all of them. Nate, Jamie's son was an awesome addition making this an all around good book about family and love.

I'm a big fan and can't wait for more!

This book is epically brilliant. Between her genius little boy and her tough backbone, you can't help but admire Jaime. As a mother, I could identify with her so much. My heart swelled so much watching the story develop between Conner and Jaime. They overcame insurmountable obstacles to be together.

This is a soft and truly beautiful departure from the grit and ferocity of MariaLisa DeMora's MC worlds... not that I don't find beauty in the Rebel Wayfarers and Neither This, Nor That characters and books! This author's writing is just so sublime - the hard edges of the brittle life she depicted through clipped dialogue and terse prose in Bones being smoothed out and rounded eloquently into this intimate romance, centred as it is around warm, loving people who care so deeply for one another.
While the men of her motorcycle club series are all larger than life, Connor and Cooper and Jacob and Trent are much closer to men we (I!) see as real, or at the very least realistic: men with insecurities and failings, but whose love and dedication to family is more than enough to make up for their flaws and foibles. Exactly what so many of us wish for as partners, brothers, in-laws and friends.
And Jaime, sweet loving momma and struggling widow, she’s a bit of all of us I think. She doesn't wallow, doesn't allow the challenges of everyday life to suck her under and affect her immensely intelligent nine year-old boy. She seeks out solutions that she can run with in good conscience, securing her son's future while offering something amazing to people she believes deserving. When romance is added into this mix, it's intense and uplifting.
I feel so honoured to have been offered the chance to read this book ahead of its release date, and look forward to rereading it many times over, whenever I need something to lift my spirits.

What a BEAUTIFUL story!! Not only was the premise original from what I've read it the past but it warmed my heart in ways that I've missed from other romances. Sure I've swooned and wept and had my heart flutter...and I did all that with this book, but I also felt like my heart had been cradled with loving hands.

I've been such a fan of this author and have been since I fell in love with the characters in her amazing MC series. With My Whole Heart is totally different than her previous books and yet no less inspiring.

Jaime and Conner's story is complicated yet beautiful. They're both working toward the goal of helping Conner's brother and wife expand their family and that sparks a bond that leads to so much more then either expected.

Sweet Jaime is a hardworking single mother. Looking for work and trying to do right by the brilliant young boy she'd been gifted with and riddled with guilt because times are tough. When she learns of the surrogacy program available, she's hesitant but willing to do what it took to keep a roof over her son's head. What she didn't expect was to connect so strongly with Cooper and Marie. What turned out to be a form of income became a friendship and sense of eagerness to give them what they do desperately want.

Conner is a teacher and coach for the local high school. A great mentor that respects his students. He's a good man, though a bit withdrawn from anyone outside of his family. He's all in for helping his brother and sister-in-law but isn't interested in getting to know Jaime. But after that first meeting - everything changes.

I loved every word of this story. The characters were people I just wanted to reach the the pages and hug them. And Nate (Jaime's son), he was just as strong a presence as his mother and was absolutely adorable and strong for a kid his age.

I just freaking LOVED this book!!!
FAVORITE QUOTES:

Single mom, making things work all on her own. Just like a thousand others like her.
They weren’t like her, though. Never met anybody like her. He snorted. How can I feel like I’ve known her my whole life, when I really just met her today?

"You’ll know if she’s something you want to explore. Ignore the situation. Don’t let circumstance rob you of joy. We are not guaranteed another day. Don’t let this one pass by. Listen to your heart. It won’t lead you wrong.”

ERIN'S REVIEW
5 STARS

This book was everything! I could not, no, I would not put it down. Jaime and Connor will melt your heart. Jaime is a strong character. Her and her son are going through a very rough patch, but instead of letting it get her down, she makes the most of what she can. Connor is a very family oriented man, who struggles with the loss of his twin brother. He has never thought twice about helping his older brother and his wife. You will definitely shed some tears throughout this story. Some will be from laughter. Some will be from the level of emotion that pours from every word. These two characters have left their imprint on my heart and I am sure will leave their mark on yours as well.

As Jaime is struggling to provide for herself and her nine year old son, she happens to learn about the possibility of becoming a surrogate; something that is legal in their state of Tennessee. After having such an easy pregnancy with Nate, she realises this could become a good way to not only help herself immensely, but she could do so by way of helping a couple become a family.

Once she starts on this journey, she meets Connor, who not only is her son’s new basketball coach (which is how she initially meets him) but he happens to be the father’s brother… and the sperm donor for the potential child. Awkward much! Connor also happens to be a gorgeous guy; a fact that Jaime doesn’t miss, and the feeling is definitely reciprocated when he meets Jaime. Yeah, this isn’t going to get complicated at all, is it? lol.

Oh this book really gets you with the feels. The thought process that must go into the act of surrogacy, whether as the carrier or the parents must be so hard, I can’t even imagine it. I think the author handled all the emotions of the situation well though, and there were a few times I got tears in my eyes reading the characters go through it all. All the characters were well written and the story flowed well, really getting me invested in the outcome of what can only be described as a bizarre situation for them all. I really enjoyed With My Whole Heart and give it 5 stars.

I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I was kept interested. The story has laughs, pain, love, and heartbreak.

This is Jamie and Connor’s story. Jamie is a single mother who it trying to raise her son. When she need cash to pay the bills she considers becoming a surrogate. She meets the couple and try all agree to the terms. The couple’s brother is the sperm donor and they meet under but she does not know who he is right away. He likes her and feels an attraction to her but she wants to keep distance between them. She has loved and lost already so she wants to do this and then move on. Things get complicated when she gets sick and needs help. Can she let feeling develop between them? She is carrying their child but it will not be for them. Can they deal with the pressure that alone puts on them without all the other couple issues they might have?

I loved both characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read. This is a different story then the ones this author usually writes but I loved it just as much as her other books.

I highly recommend this book.

wish I could give Jaime and Connor more than 5 stars. I wish everyone who loved a sweet, hopeful love story that was slightly complicated would read this. I can't. Instead, I will say that I started and finished in one sitting. I sent my kids out the door to catch the bus and continued to read, fed the dog and the cats started some laundry and emptied the dryer! I poured coffee while reading. If that doesn't tell you how fantastic With My Whole Heart is...to risk spilling not only coffee but spilling it on my Ereader!

My enjoyment of this book is twofold. 1) It's not a storyline I've read before so it was fresh, and by the end, I was definitely wondering what I would do if I was in Jaime's shoes. 2) It's by a favorite author, she up until now writes exclusively MC and I HOPE this helps her to take another chance and give us something like this again.

It's wonderful to see authors step away from what they know their readers will read and see them hit it out the park!

This story is such a beautiful story of love, loss, and life.
Jamie has lived a hard life as a single mom of Nate who by the way is a genius!
Connor lost a part of his soul, and never thought he would find love

MariaLisa DeMora is known for her awesome MC series Rebel Wayfarers MC, this is nothing like them!!
We have a touching self realization, love story here that will touch your heart and make you believe in love no matter what.
Jamie is doing all she can to be a good mother to her son and make ends meet for them as we all know that is not ever an easy thing being a single parent, and in doing so she is being a surrogate for a couple,
Connor is always busy doing everything he can to keep from being tied down, when his brother asks him to be a supermarket donor he can't really tell him no , what he wasn't counting on was Jamie, she makes him want things he never has wanted before and in doing that makes him realize just what he is missing in his life.

MariaLisa DeMora has had me with her Rebel Wayfarers MC and now with this touching love story has me again.

"Every plan I have in my head begins and ends with you."

I'm used to tagging my reviews, and I was stumped when it came to this one. None of my usual ones applied. This story is different from anything I've read previously by this author. But what can I say, I've loved every word she's ever published so I didn't even question it, I just knew it would be good. And I was right...

I fell hard for Jaime. She is a struggling single mother who would do anything for her son, Nate. And she does... She's determined to make sure her son has everything that he needs, and to also make sure that he knows he's loved. Since they have no other family nearby, they are everything to each other. Their relationship is very sweet and their connection is deep. Though he is only nine years old, Nate understands more than most. He sees things that his mother tries to hide from him. She doesn't want him to worry, but he does.
Connor is alive, but not living. He's numb, just getting by, trying not to think about what he can't stop thinking out. He feels like a part of him is missing, and he's struggling to keep it together. He's extremely protective of his older brother. Tending to be suspicious of anyone who might be taking advantage of him. When he hears about Jaime, he is suspicious of her intentions. He plans to keep an eye on her, until he sees her. Once that happens, he can't take his eyes off of her.

Why couldn't they have met before? Before things got complicated and lines got crossed? But you can't turn back time, and you can't turn off feelings. So what are they going to do with them?

What? You didn't think I was gonna tell you, did you? I wouldn't dream of depriving you of the pleasure of unwrapping this gift all by yourself. With My Whole Heart will touch your funny bone and your heart. It will stretch your imagination as you contemplate possibilities that you hadn't previously considered. Your eyes will be opened and you'll take something with you when it's over. Something to hold on to and remember. I never know what to expect from MariaLisa deMora, but that's okay, I'll be ready and waiting for whatever it is. The line forms here...

Jaime a single mother raising her nine year old son Nathan who is a genius. At the age of 9 he is in high school. Jaime just lost her job and was selling her plasma to pay rent. When she runs into Sara who is involved in IVF and helping people have a family. Sara gave Jamie the information to mull it over. Jaime has a brother Jacob who is a very important part of her life. Jacob is married to Trent. When she spoke to her brother about they talked about all the pros and cons.

Jaime picked a couple who had a child using the same procedure. Marie and Cooper were the most kind and loving couple. Jaime was going to use her eggs to fertilized and then implanted back into her for the couple. Cooper has a brother Conner that is going to be the sperm donor for them.

Jaime is taking Nathan to basketball practice where they meet coach. Coach is infatuated with Jaime and when he sees that something is wrong with her he approaches her to find an eviction notice in her hand. He recognizes her name on the paper and calls his brother Cooper to let him know. Jaime receives a bonus from the couple which is a surprise for her. Jaime thanks them and uses the money usefully and sparingly to get her through to her next payment.

While Jaime is having her eggs extracted Conner is providing the sperm to be injected. And, Connor offers to take her home and stay with her until Nathan gets home from school. During the process of all the procedures and the pregnancy they fall in love. How is this going to effect the process of giving the baby to Marie and Cooper? At the end will they all still be happy with the results and become a family?

This was an awesome love story with a lot of different surprises. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This story was close to my heart, as my own child was conceived through IVF. I was not sure how to rate it, almost a five star for me but not quite there.

Jaime is a young woman with a genius 9-year-old son, Nate. She is a single mom because her boyfriend died before their child was born and his parents wanted nothing to do with her or her child. Struggling to get by after losing her job she gives plasma in a clinic and someone there alerts her to the possibility of being a surrogate. Jaime is pleased by the idea of giving an infertile couple such a beautiful gift while she can give her own son what he needs, so she decides to apply. Marie and Cooper Thompson want to have a second child by surrogate and they immediately hit it off. Cooper's brother Connor is the sperm donor but Jaime's eggs will be used.

Everything seems to go as planned, but what happens when Jaime and Connor fall in love while she is carrying their child, meant for his brother and sister-in-law?

I read the story in just a couple of hours. I enjoyed it and was moved by it. The struggle of Jaime, Connor but also Marie and Cooper is real and I thought it was handled quite well. The reason I did not give it the full five stars was because I thought everything between Jaime and Connor was going really fast and I did not feel it completely. But the story is beautiful as a whole.

I requested and received a complimentary copy via Netgalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

A truly beautiful romance!

This is certainly a change of pace for Maria and yes not a biker anywhere in the story!

Jaime is a single mother of a son, Nate. She struggles to survive from day to day and this leads her to embark on an exciting adventure of surrogacy. Conner is the brother, and sperm donor, of the father to be. Together they share a special connection.

Being a fast paced, light romance you, the reader, are left with such a feeling of happiness. This truly is an engaging romance and one that really lifts the reader up emotionally. It is well written and the characters are easy to identify with as everyday, regular people.

There are highs mainly throughout the story but some lows too which are handled well. Surrogacy and infertility are not easy topics to portray however Marialisa does a brilliant job.

I have read some of MariaLisa deMora books before and was looking forward to reading this one, even though I knew this was not her normal type of book she usually writes.
Jamie is a single mother just looking for a break that she thinks she deserves. After someone suggest she become a surrogate to make some money she looks into it and realizes this could be the break she needs. She meets with an agency and then picks a family. She gets to meet the family and falls in love with them. What she did not expect is to fall in love with the brother who is also the sperm donor.
Connor has thrown himself into his job as a high school teacher and a basketball coach after his twin brother died. He certainly was not looking for love but something about Jamie just called to him. He wanted nothing more than to be there for her and her son during the pregnancy. What neither of them expected was to fall in love but it's complicated right or maybe not?
I loved this story and how different is was from anything I had read before. This story is filled with compassion, love and struggles. I highly recommend this book and looked forward to reading more from MariaLisa deMora.

This book! I have never had the pleasure for reading anything by MariaLisa deMora, but I can promise she has a new fan. I'm honestly not sure what I expected from this book, but it far exceeded anything I could have expected. This book is amazing.

I love the characters in this book. Jamie is just trying to do what's best for her son. Not knowing what her next plan is Jamie looks to be come a surrogate. She never dreamed she would fall in love with the sperm donor.

This book. I don't want to give anymore away. But it is probably one of the best stories I have read in a long time. This story was outside the box. It was sweet and endearing. I'm so honored to have had the chance to read this book and I hope you will too.
