Dating Season #1

Spring Fling

Rate this book
They say the best way to get over one man is to get under another one… and another. And another.

I’m on the wrong side of my quarter-life crisis. Dead-end job, lease ending, and single af. It’s made all the harder by knowing exactly who the perfect man for me is: my super hot, incredibly kind, and extremely taken friend Austin. What’s a girl to do but drown her troubles in pinot and let her bestie open her an account on a dating app?

If there are other men for me out there, I’m determined to find them. Spring is for new beginnings, and Finn’s abs are a perfect introduction to dating.

Unless, of course, perfection is as overrated as my new app.

Episode one of six in Dating Season.

This book is a lot different than your usual romance books because it doesn't end with a HEA but not with a cliffhanger either. It's like a part of a longer story.

I did know what to expect from this book thanks to Mia.Mi.Jou and I wanted to try reading something out of the ordinary so that's why I chose it.

Surprisingly, I did like it. It's not like it's a great read or anything (I got mad at Finn and Chloe sometimes) but I think the whole concept is interesting. I'm really interested in the next "episodes" in the series because I want to see how the relationship between Chloe and Austin will develop. And, of course, I really want to get to the part when these two will be a couple (at least I hope that's what's going to happen). 3 ⭐

I laughed so hard I might have peed my pants.

Do I know where this plot is going to go? Absolutely yes and I am so up for the ride after this first instalment that I might go buy some tena lady.

Chloe is worried about being left on the shelf. Best friend Charlotte is about to marry. Austin who is Charlotte’s house mate and the object of every lustful thought that Chloe has is unobtainable because he has a girlfriend.

Dating app joined and hello Finn. Abs to die for fitness instructor who likes clowns. I hear that screech of panic. I can cope with the white faced smiley creeps but oh no no no no salad without dressing. That’s a hard no. You’ve got to be kidding me. I’m out of this shit show. Safe word engaged.

I’m so ready for summer. I’m going to learn some historical facts and go all Ghost and learn how to throw a pot.

A book that makes me laugh so much is priceless.

Chloe has been crushing on one of her best friends for a while now but Austin has no idea, in fact he is happily dating someone else. In an effort to move on from her feelings for him, the third person in their friendship, Charlotte, convinces Chloe to try online dating.

It doesn’t take long for her to find someone to date and Finn definitely ticks all the boxes. The chemistry between them is off the charts and he definitely satisfies her long neglected lady parts.

Things seem to be progressing quite well until their relationship gets put to the test and then it’s game over. Finn was the perfect beginning to dating life for Chloe and I look forward to meeting more of the future men in her life. Having said that I know what I see in the future for her and I hope I’m right!

This is the first story in this new series from Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee and it was a fabulous start. So many laugh out loud moments and so easy to read.

Chloe needs to get back into the game. The dating game that is. And she needs to get over her unrequited crush on her friend, Austin. A dating app should be just the trick. Right? So when she meets a hot fitness instructor, Finn, she's delighted to find they have serious chemistry. Serious chemistry, like scorch the sheets kind of chemistry. But is Finn really the guy she thinks he is? When he takes her home to meet his parents, the test is on. Will she pass and move onto the next phase with Finn? Or fail miserably and go back to her boring singlehood?

I loved Spring Fling! It's lighthearted, fun, witty, and seriously freaking hot. I can't wait to find out what Chloe's next step is and I really want to find out who she ultimately ends up with.

Sprin Fling by Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee is the kind of swoony, flirty, naughty and witty read that just makes me feel all relaxed and happy. Forget your worries. Forget your stress. Forget everything as it's time to get onto this hilarious and two hundred percent entertaining ride.

The concept of The Dating Season is pretty fun and unique. This is the first of the six episodes about dating life of Chloe. She is content to be single with her struggling artist life, her best friend Charlotte and her another best friend aka crush Austin. Since Austin is in a relationship, he is off limits. And Charlotte is determined to help her move on. So comes the dating site. And the super hunky fitness trainer Finn. Is it the happily ever after for Chloe?

I laughed so hard while reading this story. Chloe is my sister Soulmate. A bit quirky. A bit nerdy. A bit shy. An overthinker .A simple and beautiful girl who isn't overtly sophisticated or trying too hard to fit in. Her heart is sweet. Her soul is wild and free. I totally can feel her vibes. She was attracted to Finn physically and she decided to enjoy the dirty sides of her. Whoa the sex scenes were super steamy with lots of dirty talking. She tried best to balance her personality and Finn's expectations though fitness freak Finn had almost nothing common with her. And it all came to end. Finn isn't a bad guy. Eye candy. Can be swoony and so sexy. But he is unable to relax and accept Chloe. BUT FEAR NOT. Chloe's dating adventures have not ended. We are just warming up for the next chapter. As her new journey as Austin's roommate starts and I feel Austin feels things for her too. He sounds perfect from what I can see. A genuine good guy who cares for Chloe and his delicious qualities don't hurt either.

Spring Fling by Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee was all about having a good time with some amazing characters. I had a blast and am so ready for more.

4.5 Stars for Spring Fling (Episode #1) by Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee
A sure sign of a great writing team is when a story flows and you have no idea who wrote what parts and that’s exactly what you get with this novella. This is episode 1 of the Dating Season and it’s a fun, witty, flirty read, it’s one of those quick reads that makes you forget your own troubles as you fall hook, line and sinker for the characters and their story. We all know dating can be a mine field, it takes time and commitment and it doesn’t help when your feelings lie with your best friend and that’s the route of the problem for Chloe. Up until now she had been content to be single but her friend Charlotte has decided it’s time for her to stop crushing on their other best friend Austin and find a man of her own and that means the dreaded dating site world.....
This is a great read and a great start to the Dating Season, it’s funny with wonderful characters and this novella will certainly leave you with a big smile on your face but this is just the start of Chloe’s dating and I’m excited to see where we go in the next episode.

Chloe is worried about her friends leaving her behind. Her best friend Charlotte is about to get married. Her secret crush and Charlotte’s current roommate, Austin, is busy dating other people who aren’t her. When she signs up for a dating app things she meets the hero for her spring fling, Finn.

Finn is all about fitness and it definitely shows. Fitness isn’t Chloe’s thing, but she is willing to try to be with Finn. There is no denying the amount of chemistry between the two of them and there is plenty of steaminess throughout this little novella. However, Finn is just too good to be true and I am definitely not a fan of him, I mean the man loves clowns!

I can’t wait to see where Summer takes Chloe!

If you’re looking for a fun, spring time novella this is one to check out.

What a cute, light hearted, steamy and hilarious novella. Chloe is so adorable with her crush on Austin who’s completely oblivious to it. And because of that, Chloe decides to join a dating app and meets sexy and handsome, Finn. Her dating adventures are quite entertaining and I love her quirky personality. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Chloe and I’m definitely looking forward to the next installment of this series.

Charlotte and Chloe and Austin are best friends, always there for each other. The only problem is Chloe has a secret crush on Austin, which stops her from dating. Charlotte puts Chloe's profile on a dating app, which introduces her to Finn. He seems like the perfect guy to help her get over her crush. Things are great until Finn introduces her to his parents, and when things don't work out to Finn's satisfaction, he dumps Chloe, showing her what a tool he really is.

Austin is looking for a new roommate and Chloe needs to find a new place to live since her landlord is selling the cottage she rents. Chloe convinces herself that she could live with Austin, while keeping her crush a secret, so she asks if he wants her for a roommate. Will Chloe move in? Can she keep her relationship with Austin platonic? Does Austin have secret feelings for Chloe? So many possibilities, and I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens next.

This is book one in a 6 part series.

4 Star Review of Spring Fling (Dating Season #1) by Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee

It may be a novella but these two authors have packed so much into it that you cannot help but become hooked on the story that they wove. There was plenty of heat, witty banter and humour and all in all it made for a short but highly entertaining read.
Chloe has two best friends, Charlotte and Austin. She has a huge crush on Austin but as he is involved with someone he is totally off limits. So when Charlotte signs Chloe up with an online dating app, she decides to dive in. After the best way to get over a crush is to find someone else.
I found it easy to relate to Chloe, she is quirky, fun and someone I could easily see as a friend. There were moments where I was laughing so much I almost cried and my grandchildren thought I was losing my mind. Her first foray into the dating world is with Finn and the chemistry between them sizzled but is he the one?
This is the start of six episodes covering the trials and tribulations of dating and I cannot wait to read the rest.

I had so much fun reading this story! I was fun, hilarious, and light hearted with the perfect amount of steam. I loved Chloe! She cracked me up. I hope we see more from these two authors. I definitely recommend!! ~Andrea

"I don’t know whether these two authors have collaborated before but they just need to keep doing it. I laughed so hard at Chloe’s antics. She had no filter at all, mainly with her best friends, and even her inner dialogue had me snort laughing as well!! Her friend Charlotte comes up with the modern way to find a love match and the laughs roll on from there. Finn probably isn’t her type if she could look past the outer packaging, but reading her basically jump through hoops was outstanding. Bring on Summer Rebound. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

"I'm not necessarily smitten, but I'm sure satisfied, and isn't that a good place to start?"

This was a cute, quick read, the story surrounding Chole's attempts to get back in the dating world in an effort to get "over" her secret crush. Oh, yeah, did I mention that her crush is also one of her best friends? #ObliviousAustin

Plunging in to the dating app world, she meets Finn, who on the surface seems to check off most of her boxes. He's handsome, built, and seems to genuinely care about her. At least for now. But, is that enough? Can she be the girl Finn wants without losing herself in the process?

The bigger question is - does she even want to try?

I think at one time or another most, if not all of us, have crushed on our best friend. And we all know that familiar heartache when that crush is with someone else, even knowing they have no idea how you feel about them. Poor Chloe. But, as they say, the best way to get over someone is to get ..... well you know the rest.

Her dating adventures continue in the next installment in this series, and I can't wait to see what's next!!

This was such a fun read! Chloe has a crush on her best friend Charlotte's roommate Austin but he's already taken. Knowing that she has to go back out there and start dating again, Chloe joins a dating app and hopes for the best. Chloe meets Finn on the app and he ticks off all her boxes. Things with Chloe and Finn were great and she didn't think about Austin once. I liked Chloe, all she wanted was to meet the right guy and fall in love but things with Finn weren't as great as they seemed. Chloe was hilarious and she had great friends who supported her no matter what. Once her spring fling ends, Chloe has the summer to look forward to and I can't wait to see who she dates next and crazy quirk he has.

Fun and flirty just the way we like our Spring Flings. An easy read which will have you smiling as you witness Chloe try and find love when the one she really wants is within arms reach. The gorgeous Austin who she has lusted after for many a moon. So close but so far......big big sigh. So with the help of her bestie Charlotte she hooks up with Finn. Finn who although has many fine features that Chloe is happy to take advantage of is lacking that certain something, the spark that every girl looks for in the man she wants to spend her happily ever after with. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it things don’t work out for Chloe and Finn. Little did she know her lack of experience with very large balls would be her downfall. It’s such a fun read and we know whatever Chloe gets up to in Summer Rebound she’ll have us giggling as she gazes longing at Austin and wonders if the next man she meets will be her happily ever after.

If the romantic woes of Chloe’s past aren’t difficult enough then the attraction she has for her friend Austin, who already has a girlfriend, certainly is. Her best friend Charlotte convinces her to join a dating site which brings Finn into her life.

Between his fitness schedule and his attention to health Finn is a sight to behold and the chemistry between them is off the charts but will that be enough to overcome their very different lifestyles and personalities?

Chloe’s personality and experiences are something that everyone can relate to and the friendship she has with Austin and Charlotte is heartwarming. I am looking forward to seeing where Chloe’s search for romance takes her.

This is the start of A Dating Season Novellas Episode One - Spring Fling.
Chloe is an artist whose best friend thinks she needs to get over her crush and get back in the dating world. So she was coerced into opening an account on Friends-Of-Friends dating app. She gets several messages but decides to go with the first message she received which is - Finn. Finn is really nice to look at and is a trainer at SuperFit Gyms. This is far from Chloe's comfort zone which is carbs, watching movies and naps. But opposite attract, right? See how Chloe does with her first match on Friends-Of-Friends and don't forget there's more episodes to come! Can't wait to see what Chloe is up to next.

thoroughly enjoyed the first instalment of Dating Season!

Well that was fun.....thoroughly enjoyed the first instalment of Dating Season!

Spring Fling

Chloe’s a little obsessed with her best friends room mate, Austin, but he’s unavailable, she desperately needs to move on, so Charlotte (BFF) decides a dating app is the way to go.

Along comes Finn.

Finn seems to be too good to be true.....unfortunately Chloe finds out the hard way. Finn is a total cockwomble!

Let’s hope she has more luck in Summer Rebound!

A fast and fun read. A start to the dating life of Chloe. On the advice of Charlotte she joins a dating app. She meets Finn. Trying her hardest to get over her crush on Austin she decides to date Finn. She pushes her own likes and wants to the back and accepts Finn’s quirks. I loved her quirks even though she never showed them to Finn. A quick and enjoyable read to the start of something great by Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee.

Oh, Chloe. I feel for you, girl. Finding the perfect man is a hard task but you make it seem like fun.

Chloe's adventures with Finn had me cracking up.
I liked all her little quirks (I think, maybe, she is my twin) and all the awkward made her super relatable to me.

I'm very much looking to see where her dating life leads her. If the other books in this series are similar to this one, I'll definitely be reading them.
