From USA Today bestselling author Amanda Siegrist comes an intense romantic suspense that will make you swoon and hold you on the edge-of-your-seat until the very end.

Love is scary…death is terrifying.

Deke Sumnter only has casual sex. Anything beyond that, he’s not interested. Until Charlotte. She’s smart, sexy, and something he’s always craved. But one time was all he could give her. He should’ve known it wouldn’t be enough. Now, she won’t even talk to him. He’d take just being friends over the silent treatment.

When trouble starts brewing again in their small town, this time targeting the woman he swears he doesn’t love, he won’t let anything stop him from protecting her, even if everything inside of him says he needs to stay as far away from her as possible.

I’m a USA Today Bestselling Author that loves to write sweet contemporary romance and romantic suspense novels, although I am partial to romantic suspense. Honestly, I love anything that has to do with romance. As long as there's a happy ending, I'm a happy camper. And insta-love…yes, please! I love baseball (Go Twins!) and creating awesome crafts. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, working in that field for several years before I became a stay-at-home mom. I have a few more amazing stories in the works. I am disappointment. The premise sounded good, but it goes nowhere really fast.

I couldn’t with the main characters. They keep coming back to the same thoughts and memories. They keep changing their mind too. The story never moves forward, they always take a step back–or a few, while spinning around.

As for the other characters, they also make dumb decisions. They’re supposedly working for the sheriff department and the FBI, shouldn’t they be smarter? At least, they have a voice, as a couple of them get the honor of having their point of view featured. Romantic suspense is, in my opinion, the most difficult genre. You need a solid base, a story that makes sense. This book was definitely not a great example.

As for the romance, I couldn’t get into it either. There’s no chemistry, and they keep hurting each other and still they come back.

Big nope for me.

Quickie

Woo Hoo. I am heading back to Lucky Town in Deadly Memories by Amanda Siegrist. I have been loving this series and am eager to get the latest news on some fabulous characters and share the romance of Deke and Charlotte.

Deke had slinked out of her house in the early morning hours after a night of lovemaking and there is no forgiveness in her heart. Will he get a second chance? Does he deserve one? Charlotte is stubborn, with a capital S, so good luck to him breaking through her silent treatment.

Because of her work for the sheriff, they are frequently thrown together and consider them all friends…but Special Agent Deke Sumnter of the FBI…Nope. Never gonna happen. The saying, if looks could kill, applies, but it makes me smile and I am only at 7%.

Sherry runs the flower shop in the small town of Lucky. Gotta mention her, because it is always fun to see my name in a book.

Since the Cheetah gang had come to town, the quiet and security of living in a small town had vanished. This time, Charlotte is in danger, and Deke, along with the rest of law enforcement are on high alert.

Charlotte keeps the police department running like a well oiled machine by handling all the office duties and the gossip mongers. Need a secret kept, she’s your woman.

Deke is known as a happy go lucky guy, but it is a cover to hid his inner most feelings. His childhood kept him from committing to a relationship, allowing himself to have a full and happy life. I am looking forward to learning how he pulls himself together and letting Charlotte into his life.

The romance fits all the criteria for a romantic suspense novel. No surprise there, but this is not the first time I’ve met these characters, so we have a history and I love catching up with them. AND danger seems to go hand in hand with the romance. I love that Amanda Siegrist creates new dangers and smiles for each set of characters and keeps me flying through the pages.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of Deadly Memories by Amanda Siegrist.

And again, Amanda Siegrist brings two souls, damaged from their pasts together and places them in a position of turmoil and danger that could end the fragile and painful “non-relationship” they share or give them the opportunity to leave their pasts behind and reach for a future without the walls of protection they have built around themselves. But first, Deke must save Charlotte from the danger that lurks in the shadows.

DEADLY MEMORIES brings all the emotional upheaval to this tale, as is her strong point and signature style. Twisted pasts, longing for relationships, and the fear of risking more pain comes through for these characters, even as what they want and need is right in front of them. Will Deke’s reluctance to embrace what Charlotte offers keep them apart or will they find a happy ending together?

Another emotionally charged read that will squeeze at readers’ heartstrings as we are tumbled down a dark corridor of danger! A quick read that is chocked full of high octane tension.

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Amanda Siegrist!

Deadly Memories is the fourth book in Lucky Town series. Oh my!! This book was amazing in its gritty, gripping, riveting engaging, dark, heartwarming and heartbreaking glory. With fantastic characters and the strength that they needed to draw from each other you will be hooked from page one. Yet another powerful and invigorating book by this amazing author. It is amazingly written with a raw, dark, twisted, gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, darkly beautiful storyline - plot and the suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. Deadly Memories is a one hell of a ride with chaos, tragedy, heat, secrets and revelations. Filled with plenty of action, suspense, danger, hidden secrets, love, healing and family left me breathless and enthralled.

✓A gorgeous but slightly damaged, displeased, sullen, grumpy hero with a weight of a world on his shoulders but softy with a heart of gold
✓A strong, vulnerable, takeout-loving heroine who is not really equipped in dealing with our grumpy hero but she tries to because she can’t deny the pull between them
✓Loyalty, friendships and family
✓Small town
✓Second chances / hope
✓The danger they are thrown into
✓Enough emotional baggage to fill a room
✓Fun cast of supporting – secondary characters that add to the story and development
✓Page turner
✓Fast paced
✓Gripping / gritty / suspenseful
✓Unpredictable twists and turns
✓Off – the- charts chemistry
✓Emotional roller-coaster
✓ Intense
✓Passionate
✓All consuming
✓A beautiful love story

I liked that secondary characters appeared in this one and that this group of people became closer and bonded even more. They have stolen my heart and play important, key role and help development of the main characters. We also get an update from our beloved couples from the last three books. Secondary characters are intriguing, engaging, funny and incredible. I just love their camaraderie, friendship and the way they have each other’s back. Believe me, they will be tested. They represent a true meaning of a family.

Deke and Charlotte’s story is an emotional, beautiful second chance romance that will hit you straight in the feels and wreck you in the best possible way. They were full of rare witty banter, angst, action, romance, and a few clever twists. They have a rocky start and not a smooth path. Separately they are beautiful mess, together they are perfectly imperfect. Both are stubborn. She brings out his softer side, protectiveness and possessiveness. Deke isn’t used to talking about feelings because it makes him vulnerable which he considers a weakness but also there is his past to consider. I love their stolen moments and meaningful conversations. They started an easy friendship which somehow turned into more. My heart hurt for both of them and what they both went through. With danger surrounding them, he vowed to keep her safe and to make her understand she is not alone. Deke is fiercely loyal, protective, quiet, broody, moody, a bit secretive, stubborn, intense, gorgeous, vulnerable, damaged hero. Charlotte is such a fabulous, brilliant and witty heroine but also vulnerable and scarred. Deke is reluctant to start a relationship not wanting to ruin their friendship. He would rather have a little piece of her than not be in her life at all.

An absolutely amazing book with everything you could possibly want if you love murder mysteries, small town, suspense and darkish romance. I inhaled the pages and didn’t want it to end. It made me crave a novella with my beloved couples. I highly recommend this book and series.

I'm not going to lie, I seriously had a love/hate relationship with Deke through most of the book because of some of his questionable decisions he made. And yeah I know, he has a childhood that he won't let go of, but at some point you have to pull your b*lls out of your pocket when you meet the one. Charlotte is a fantastic heroine who can go toe to toe with anyone, so after she hooked up with Deke one night, and he snuck out before she woke up & then pretended it didn't happen, she froze him completely out, and I was clapping hard because of that. She puts him through the wringer before softening towards him again, and man, this dude seriously was insane since he kept on with the push & pull that would quite literally have me throat punching him if I were in her shoes. Of course when Charlotte's life is in danger, guess who has to stick to her like glue, that's right Deke. As he tries to stop being a boy in a man's body, he also has to keep her safe as things are going sideways. I know that I'm being mean about Deke, but the fact is, I couldn't put this book down, so to see if he ever redeemed himself you'll have to hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I love when rules are meant to broken. And in this case, Deke and Charlotte may need to break a few of them!

Deadly Memories was a suspenseful read with a mix of romance. This story makes you stay at the edge of your seat and the danger that lurks will have the hairs on your arm standing! I loved it all. I was glued to every page. The story line was on point and I got lost in their world. I am loving the Lucky Town series, but if you haven't started it yet, this story can be read as a standalone.

So romance and suspense are not usually my go to tropes In books , but Amanda had me hooked from the very first chapter. Deadly memories is a office romance between a hot FBI agent and the office manger of the sheriff . There are so many twists and turns and surprises you will not expect . The intrigue, the steamy moments and off the charts chemistry between Charlotte and deke will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time . This is also a bit of a Second chance romance . I loved the emotional development of Charlotte and Dekes relationship, as well as the mystery and intrigue Amanda did a phenomenal job of creating for us . I highly recommend this awesome book

I always look forward to any new release from Amanda Siegrist because she is an excellent romantic suspense writer and her plot twists and surprises keep me guessing until the very end. She combines romance with an element of danger and always has a happy ending. In her latest book “Deadly Memories,” an office romance between a handsome FBI agent and the Sheriff’s Department office manager plays second fiddle to murder and ominous threats.

Charlotte shared one special night with Deke that meant everything to her, but Deke all but ignored her after that like it had never happened. Deke was currently working out of her office and he gazed at her longingly every time he walked past her desk, as if he was willing her to say something. Charlotte couldn’t understand how Deke could just toss aside their night together because at the time he seemed interested in her too, but she was obviously mistaken. Charlotte didn’t know anything about Deke’s family because he kept his personal life to himself. But she did know he was an excellent agent who worked diligently to solve his cases while keeping everyone safe.

Deke did have strong feelings for Charlotte but he could never give her the kind of love she deserved. She was smart, feisty and the woman of his dreams, but he felt he wasn’t worthy of her love. Now that Charlotte was the target of the danger that had infiltrated their small town, Deke was determined to protect her at all costs. He wouldn’t let Charlotte out of his sight and he would use all of his training and experience to ensure her safety until the threat had been neutralized. He hoped and prayed that in the end, he would have the chance to open up to Charlotte about his past and that she would forgive him and give him a second chance.

The fourth book in the series brings another fantastic read by Ms. Seigrist. She does a wonderful job developing the story and pulling you in. I was glued to the pages with all the suspense, danger and secrets in this dark and twisted storyline. She paints her scenes in vivid detail and moves the story fluidly. I loved and highly recommend this book.

The suspense in this book kept me on my toes trying to figure out what was going on and what were the bad guys planning for this group of friends. Then I spent the other half of the time wanting to kick Deke for being a stubborn male. He drove me crazy but I’m glad he finally wised up and took a chance with Charlotte.

Deke has been nursing the pain of the past for far too long. It’s made him stagnant in his relationships, and he’s letting the hurt fester and ruin his chances at a lasting relationship. Charlotte isn’t too happy with him, especially because he used that pain to hurt her. But she might be just the person to help break down his walls.

I adore the Lucky Town series. There are so many characters to choose from in this town, and each of them has a story. I like Charlotte because she’s strong and assertive. I love how she ties into the Lucky Town world and relates so well to the characters we’ve met. Siegrist is skillful at weaving together suspense and romance to bring couples together and give the reader an edge of the seat feeling while reading. Nicely done!

The writing in this book is fantastic! Deke is so conflicted over Charlotte. The other characters from the previous books are very active in this book. There are some very emotional and sad scenes. There was a lot of suspense that kept me reading into the wee hours of the morning.

**I received this book as an ARC in return for my honest review**

If you’re looking for a good suspenseful story with some romance woven in it, this is the series for you! The push and pull of Deke and Charlotte is a big part of the book, but the trouble in town was the main reason for me to keep on reading. There is so much happening, and the tension of the case will have you on the edge of your seat! Even though this book can definitely be read as a standalone, it’s easy enough to catch up on what’s happening, I do think it would have liked it even more if I read the other books as well.

This is book four in A Lucky Town Novel Series and it is Deke and Charlotte's story and omg it is definitely a must read. This series just gets better and better with each book that is written but I have to say that I have enjoyed every single one but this book is definitely my favourite so far. Deke doesn't do relationships or commitments because of his past and he has so much baggage that all he can ever give is one night and that is what happens with Charlotte but something feels different and he doesn't know what to do with it. Charlotte works at the police station and deals with everything keeping it running as smoothly as possible, when she spent a night with Deke and some up to find him gone she is angry and hurt so she keeps her distance as much as possible and gives him the cold shoulder. Danger is just around the corner watching and waiting to strike and it seems like Charlotte is the one in danger so all bets are off the table as Deke will do everything possible to protect and keep her safe but still try to remain friend's. Wow this book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions with suspense, danger and action thrown in to the pot and I couldn't put it down as it has great characters and a storyline that pulled you in and wouldn't let you go and it was so addictive that I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

Deadly Memoirs is the first book of the Lucky Town series that I read by the author Amanda Siegrist. The storyline is great and you are immediately drawn into the story of Deke and Charlotte who had a one night stand and he makes it clear to her that it is only a one-time thing and nothing more. Charlotte feels hurt and stops talking to him. When it turns out that someone in their village is targeting her, Deke is the one who can protect her, and both prefer not to see that. Despite everything, the chemistry is present between them and the feelings remain smoldering in the background. This story has a fantastic protagonist with good characters and I will definitely read the other parts of this series. Ms. Siegrist is on the list of new authors that I will read more often. This book is highly recommended!

This is the 4th book in this amazing series and is Deke and Charlotte’s story. Deke is damaged by his past and as a result does not do relationships, he is a 1-night only man. Trouble being one night is not enough with the smart and feisty Charlotte, and she is giving him the cold shoulder. When trouble once again arrives to threaten their small town, Charlotte is the target, and Deke will do whatever he must to protect and keep her safe. The push and pull between these two is intense, but will she give him a 2nd chance? This is a well written story which is emotionally charged, and with twists, suspense, danger, turmoil, romance, and love, which all leads to a story which pulls at the heartstrings throughout. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Another suspenseful and emotional read.

This is the fourth installment in the Lucky Town series and revolves around Deke and Charlotte's love story. As with the other novels there is plenty of excitement and suspense, but also loss and grief affecting the characters we have followed throughout the series. Towards the end of the story I became very frustrated with Deke and Charlotte's continual miscommunication, however overall another enjoyable read.

Deke and Charlotte. Deke is an FBI agent who is working in the sheriff's office where Charlotte's keeps things running. I enjoyed the book which is a combination of secret pasts and romance. I didn't like Deke and I really didn't ever warm up to him. But I love Charlotte and have enjoyed her character throughout the series. I am glad she got her romance. I did find this book in the series a bit repetitive and not as emotionally engaging as the previous books. What I love about the series is the continuity of the characters and the town. I am looking forward to the next book.

Another trip to Lucky Town and this time it is Deke and Charlotte's relationship under the spotlight. Everyone is still realing from past events as they try to understand and deal with events that are unfolding as the story goes on. We see strength of character, twists, turns, danger, the unknown, pain, sorrow, grief, anger, regret, hope, doubts, forgiveness, support, understanding, acceptance and love, I'm looking forward to reading the next book now.

One man has died and Charlottes life has been threatened. The last person Charlotte wants to protect her is Deke, after their one night stand changed everything between them. Deke knows he was wrong but he is determined to keep Charlotte safe. Lots of chemistry and sparks flying with these two great characters. There’s also an explosion and an intense shootout! Highly recommend!
