It’s been two days and I am still thinking about this book and collecting my thoughts. It’s such an emotional story that I didn’t see coming. I think I cried for about fifty percent of the book. Have tissues on hand.
Patrick, born with skates on his feet is highly driven as the team caption for his number one college hockey team. For him, it’s hockey 24/7 until he meets the coach’s niece Neena. He steps outside the box to get to know her and it’s funny, touching, and beautiful. Neenyna has one obstacle in the way and it’s not the coach.
Neeyna is a warrior and speaks her mind. You just can’t help but love these two. They have a special, once-in-a-lifetime kind of love. Side note kudos to the author for writing a tall girl. I greatly appreciate it. As a tall girl, It’s the little things like this that make me happy.
This book is about what is important In life and finding our true selves. It’s well written and very entertaining. I equally laughed, cried, and was honored to have read this book.

Vlasta Vipers Team Captain just met his match!!!
Patrick & Nyeena have the kind of love you could only dream about!! Two vastly different people who fell in love with more than one obstacle in their path and somehow made it through.
Be prepared to grab some tissues and that glass of wine because you are going to need it. Taming of the Crew was both heartbreaking and powerful. Patrick had always lived and breathed hockey because that was how he was raised. He was taught to believe that the only way he would make something of himself was through his hockey stick. It took Meeting Nyeena for him to see that life is too short to not have that cookie or have that hot chocolate and most importantly it is too short to not go after the things you really want out of life.
Nyeena was my ultimate heroine!! She was a force of a woman who despite her condition wasn't going to let anyone stand in her way. Meeting Patrick was supposed to take her mind off things, but she wasn't supposed to fall in love with him. He is everything good in this world and deserves more than taking care of her when she isn't herself or when days become too hard for her to handle on her own.
This story was so much more than just about Nyeena & Patrick for me. We got to see brothers come together and become well, brothers. The comradery the team had with Patrick even though he wasn't like them at all and the way they had his back from the very start when he couldn't get Nyeena out of his mind.
While this was Hockey Gods book five, this was the first book I have read in this series and every character for the most part intrigued me enough to go back and read about their HEA. Xavier Neal showed us with Taming of the Crew that every love story doesn't have to be beautifully perfect to be worth it.

This book was a fantastic surprise and an absolute delight.
It's very rare with me that I not only like both main characters but also the entire lineup of side characters and with this book it was the easiest thing to do.
I laughed from page one. I cried. I swooned. I had to stopped more one and take a break because how much... how deep I was immerse in the story.
As soon as I finished this book, I said this was one of my favorite books of the year and after a couple of days I realized it was so amazing it's my favourite Xavier Neal book and one of my favorite books... period.
If you want an story with loyalty, found family, love (all types of love) overall a heartwarming story, then this is your book.
Can't wait to read the rest of the books next.

This is an incredibly endearing story to read. Patrick is a not only a driven hockey player he is captain of their college team and he takes his duties extremely seriously. Nyeena is new to the area and Patricks coach's niece. The attraction between them is almost instant. The hard part is finding time to get to know one another. The hockey boys and their significant others are helpful. This story is about learning what is truly meaningful in life. About discovering who they each are and who they each want to be. Beautifully written, equal parts funny and emotional! You will not want to miss this one

Amazing! I was in tears, I was swooning, I was laughing and I was not ready for it to end! I loved Nyeena and her passion for life as well as her love for yelling! Whether at her uncle, boyfriend or anyone else that gets in her way! Peck was also such a dream of a boyfriend. Despite his inexperience in more ways than one, he ends up being the quintessential book boyfriend of our dreams!
If you love sports romances and love sports references and innuendos then this book is for you! Sweet romance that turns steamy, with some sadness but don’t worry, it ends with a HEA and an epilogue!

The moment he meets Nyeena he is drawn to her in a way he has never been to another girl, she pushes his buttons in all the right ways. But does he really have time to invest in a relationship?
Taming of the Crew is an emotional little page-turner that will have the tears welling one moment, and then laughing out loud the next. These two brought so much energy, emotion, and steam to the pages. It was evident that they were meant for one another at first glance, but it took them some time to fully see it. Patrick already had a full plate being the captain of his hockey team, but Nyeena was the first girl to make him want to make room for more. But could he really do it? With a little help from his teammates and a little encouraging push, these two found their way to one another.
But as with all relationships there were many ups and downs and doubts to conquer before the happily ever after... and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the heart-torturing ride! Taming of the Crew was a good emotional story. You will need some tissues. The things Patrick went through with his parents. They were horrible people. And Nyeena had her own medical issue's to deal with. I loved how the team came together to help. I enjoyed reading this book. It has great characters and was entertaining!! And I received an ARC for my honest opinion.

I knew from the first few pages of this story that Xavier Neal was going to put a hurtin’ on my heart…and she did. This story was extremely emotional, it messed with my head and heart along with my emotions and instincts as a mother. She fueled that fire with some anger and I’ll admit to wanting a bit of revenge. But that’s the Momma in me I guess.
Peck has been the dutiful son. No matter what. He’s been the ultimate Captain as well as friend. He forgot about himself in order to take care of those that he loved and felt responsible for. And that was a high price to pay because it cost him a bit of happiness. Peck never truly saw his self worth. But a glimpse of the forbidden, aka, coach’s niece Nyeena, and so many possibilities come to light. She’s feisty, beautiful, and everything Peck never allowed himself to want. She shows him a slice of life that makes him hunger for more. But Nyeena hasn’t been completely transparent with Peck. And when he discovers her “omission “, it’s something he never expected but is willing to take on because that’s what he wants, what she deserves. One is all in, one is afraid to take a bite of that forbidden fruit.
I fell in love with Peck’s loyalty and his innocence to the simple joys of life. Nyeena’s protectiveness for Peck lit my heart up. So much pride and strength.

Epic! First off, if you have not read the other books in this series, you will miss nuances that make this final story one of the most epic love stories in a long time. You want to know those moments because this one ties it all together.
You will go through so many thoughts and emotions and you will cheer for Peck like no other one of the crew. A love so big that NOTHING, could break it.
Standing Ovation!!!!! This is what Epic love stories feel like. Peck was totally built for this. Don't get me started with Phin. Love this kid!!!
Wings and Patrick, they fit at a time when no one was expecting it. That instant connection that is beyond lust and straight into soul connecting energy that leave you breathless, yet feeling like you just started to breath and live fully. The Crew is family. Blood makes you related, common ground, friendship, a deep passion for a sport, music, animals or even bad dad jokes, makes a family. All of the other differences make it enjoyable.
There were times I wanted to scream at a set of parents that do not deserve to be mentioned.
It's the love and friendship in this final story of the first generation of the Hockey God's, that has me wanting to be there. The connections are unique and yet fit so well together. I sometimes ponder that the care giver of the family feels left out and not loved. But in the end, they see how much they care. When it counts the most, the crew shows up like they did as each one discovered who they really are. How amazing they are as individuals and couples.
A big kudos for not having the perfect happily ever after. It would be so easy to do that and in true Xavier form, she kept it real and it still was a happier ending than it had a right to be in reality.
So grab a favorite drink or snack, some tissues and possibly a few things to throw at non breakable objects. Hold on tight for the emotional ride of all rides. Love, the greatest, need, desire and connection that surpasses time, place, food, water and shelter. It is the greatest gift and present regardless of how it is wrapped.

I cried more then I have in a while reading this one. I know for sure I have to go back and read the rest of the series up to this one. Patrick and Nyeena have a lot going on between her declining health and his unbearable family, but still together find love and happiness. Such an amazing story, a must read.

Dam Peck Mr hockey god, everything is hockey, he lives for his team.

A very touching story all the way around. I loved getting to know Peck. Neena was the perfect balance for him. I loved this series and sorry to see it come to it's end.

Holy emotions bat-man! I was not expecting the level of intenseness this book brought. Peck (MMC) is tormented by his parents to always be better. Hockey is his life and as team captain he gives his team all of himself. But when his true family (His Crew) find he is interested in the coach's niece. They do a little matchmaking. Nyeena (FMC) is full of life and passion. She is everything Peck has never taken the time to learn in life. Not going to give anymore away, other than they do find their HEA but it's a bumpy ride to get there.

This book was so well written. As soon as you start reading you connect with the characters. Mrs Neal draws you in immediately because you know someone like the character or you are like the character. Peck was not on my radar in the previous books. I mean I knew he was there but I wasn't super interested in his story. This book made me see how wrong I was. His story was the most interesting of the team and I am so happy I got to read it. Nyeena was the perfect person for him. She was going through her own issue so she knew what he needed to come into his own. This wasn't all serious though. These two together had some hilarious moments together! Nyeena going on her rants in Spanish was hilarious to me! Peck trying to keep up was even better. And of course there was plenty of heat. Great read that I know all who read will enjoy. I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Peck and Nyeena's romance is epically emotional and powerfully potent. It is going to leave you a heart melted, sappy, swoony mess. I do not even have the words to try to adequately warn you about the massive amount of intense emotions and the vast variety of feels that are headed your way, but I do recommend that you have tissues and chocolate and whatever else makes up your own personal "I need Comforting/Hold Me" emergency pack because you are gonna need it!! These two! OMG, these two are cute and sweet, funny and poignant and very, very hot. They just stride right into your heart like they own it.....and you know what they do. This is a really wonderful read that offers up a truly magnificent love story that is as meaningful as it is moving. This book is an absolute must read for anyone that considers themselves a romance fan. I am volitionally posting a candid review.

The best! I thought I had ridden every roller coaster that Xavier Neal had but Taming of the Crew is a whole new exciting adventure. Peck and Nyeena were absolutely the sweetest and most frustrating couple Xavier's written in quite a while. Xavier takes you to the heights of ecstasy and to the lows of pain and despair. And just when you think you can't take any more, Xavier pushes you further. Loved this story!

Oh my sweet heavens!! This book!! Emotional rollercoaster I will gladly go on over and over again! Make sure the tissues are handy for this one! The characters are absolutely fantastic! Loved Getting to know Peck better and really dig into his character and I absolutely loved Nyeena. Super cool name and her sassy senorita self is just awesome! Loved it so much!

When I first started this book, I loved Nyeena's fire and fierceness. Whereas Patrick seemed alot more secluded and oh my god, he is so epically naive and sweet when it comes to Nyeena, the only other interest in his life besides ice hockey. He loses all his "cool" around her and its absolutely hilarious, his friends tried to help and I was cracking up at certain parts when he seriously tripped 🤣 drunk Patrick is my favourite 😆🙌🏻 ... these two together make my heart so full 💗 and that's why it also broke my heart, it's a devastating storyline and tugs on all your heart strings, for both characters 💔 i was literally sobbing my eyes out at one point 😭🥺 .. can I give a shout out to all the side characters, they are all brilliant and I'll be reading the the other books soon 100%

First thing I gotta say, I was NOT prepared for this book. I was not prepared for all the emotion that this book brought me.
That being said, I loved it.
I laughed, I cried (ALOT) and even got a couple nostalgia moments being a 90s kid.

Patrick is kind, loyal and just all around good guy.

And I loved the side characters. Every one on his hockey team and their so's, and especially Patrick's brother Phin (you will understand if you read the book).

Amazing!! My emotions were on edge the entire book. Peck and Nyeena have such a deep connection, that I loved every minute of their story, their back and forth... just everything. I knew I would love Peck, but didn't know just how much I would. This book pulled me in, with my box of tissues and took me on an intense journey. The entire series has been perfect, the deepness of the characters, the strength in the bonds between the crew and their better halves, each character unique, fun, sweet, flawed yet... on point. The world created deserves more than the five stars I can give. Bravo!

Peck and Neena
Peck and Neena were just an amazing couple. So many highs, lows and firsts. Peck was so so obsessed with hockey, it was wonderful to see him finally live, and love with Neena. This book will break your heart, but build it back up. Shout out to Phin for being a great character!! Perfect end to an amazing series!!

Let me just say that I am totally in love with Peck. This gave me so many feels. But most of all, it is an amazing story from the very talented Xavier Neal. If you love sports romance, then you will definitely want to read this book.

Xavier has made me an emotional wreck, I have ugly cried whilst reading this book. It contains the type of love that transcends all love, its star crossed lovers who have dream of a future that is nothing short of impossible. It's the type of love we all dream about but rarely find because it comes with the unbeatable need for sacrifice.
Nyeena is fierce, stubborn and relentless in her desire to live her life. She is loud and bull headed enough to make her capture your heart. Neena was dealt a crippling blow just as she was on the cusp of living out her dream of going to flight school, instead she was given limited time on the clock. Neena is an inspirational character even with one foot out the door, she still strives to live her life, enjoy every moment and be present every second. What she never factored was meeting Peck.
Patrick is the captain of the team the all round good guy who's sole focus is his game. What everyone on his team misses is seeing the real him, the alienated child who's been railroaded by his parents into a commodity. Who's life has been mapped out and planned to precision and is tightly controlled. Wow!!Just Wow!! Peck Peck Peck. Boy have I been waiting for you. I always wondered why you were so uptight and strict. Now I know, you were being suffocated and fun deprived. But asking came Wings to show you different. Because you both were being suffocated and fun deprived for different reasons by family, but together you both were able breath with one another and it was very refreshing. The passion Peck and Wings had for each was amazing and everything. The reverse on the sexual was new to me, but I enjoyed it. I loved getting to get appearances from the whole Vlasta crew. One big happy Hockey family. This book was exciting, shocking, passionate and refreshing bc it was a different play on a love story. Let me just say when it comes to books, I am absolutely not a crier. It really truly takes a lot to make me cry and out of the hundreds and hundreds of books I have read I can count maybe two that have brought me to tears. This book now makes it three. I was not ready for the emotions that this book brought out of me. I mean ugly ugly ugly tears going through the box of tissues tears. Fantastic job for that alone Xavier!

It told us of a love story that most of us have dreamed about. This book absolutely took my breath away and I don't say that very often.

I have been waiting for Peck's story for like forever.
Peck is a great friend and Captain to the Vlatsa Vipers. The perfect brother and son are parents could have asked for.
The thing about Peck, is that he doesn't take care of Self. He feels responsible for his loves knes, but Peck needs someone to take care of him.
In steps Nyeena, the forbidden coaches niece.
She's vivacious, Gorgeous, and speaks her mind.
Peck has never wanted things in life, nor did he allow himself happiness like his other friend's. But when he sees Nyeena, the forbidden possibility is endless.
The feelings that Nyeena inspire in Peck, makes his rationale go haywire. To see the confident Captain of the Hockey team lose his mind, was Hilarious to say the least.
When Peck got alebriated with Alcohol and got on the Mike. I lost it. "Biggie Falls". OMG, this was epic.
As the relationship progress, the truth comes out about Nyeena condition, Peck and Nyeena decideds to battle it together.

If you're ever in need of a good, solid cleanser from all the dark and deliciously bloody shit we devour, this fucking series, right the fuck here, is it! I kid you the fuck not, I read this book in less than 24 hours. I couldn't put it down. I was going at the pages harder than an ugly stripper on dollar wings night.
I love the little things about this series, they all start in the Coach's office and end in sweet epilogues 10 years out. All of my fave characters showed up, we were introduced to some new ones, like Pecks cute younger brother and his parents who have the charm and charisma of a burning orphanage. Every goddamn scene they were in proved how they are total shit stains on the underwear of life. Disgusting stupid fuckwads. I. Hated. Them.
Peck is a result of their fucking busted condom experiment. There's no fucking way, these fuckers actuality wanted to be parents. Peck was the most insecure fucker I've ever read. But the shit is, he was fucking PERFECT in everything, but those goddamn twats, fucked him bad.
Neena comes in and changes it for him, her sassy dominican comments, awesome taste in food and kindness helped him see what he's been missing and made him, an already perfect man, even better. I loved their chemistry, their kinkiness, their loyalty and watching them learn about themselves, with eachother.
