Sex. Politics. Corruption. Conspiracies. Mass murder. Have I caught your attention yet?
Tracy was many things... Widow. Mother. Vice President of the United States and future leader of the free world... or what was left of it anyway. John's resumé was nothing to sneeze at either - Former soldier. Honorable man. Newly hired muscle to protect the VP at all costs. Oh and he was one gorgeous AF Dominant.
It takes just one moment to throw the world into chaos and to change everything you used to know. Tracy's life was in more danger than ever and John was willing to do whatever it took to protect her and her son from harm. I think he was halfway hoping to protect his heart in the process.
Nice try there, John. This story was a journey of intrigue and sexual awakening, at least for Tracy. There was nothing hotter than John in crisis mode except for maybe whenever he spent intimate time with her. Watching these two fall in love amidst the dangers that surrounded them simply added another layer of dimension to this book, giving me a much needed break from the drama. I loved every interaction they shared, especially when Tracy got all sassy.
These characters were not only beautiful together, they were also erotically satisfying in so many good and sexy ways. Angel Payne created an entertaining story with people I couldn't help but be invested in, rooting for their happy ending right from the start.

This is the 10th book of Angel Payne's Honor Bound Series, Ruled. She definitely saved the best for last. Give me a story with a Special Forces Alpha man, a woman that is fiery and kickass and you have caught me hook line and sinker. Captain John Franzen, all 6 and a half feet of gorgeousness literally walks into a room and all the women lose their breath by his mere presence. Tracy Rhodes experienced this first hand. A strong powerful woman, Second in Command to one of the most supreme nations in the world, turns into a speechless, tongue-tied teenager when Franzen invades her world and yanks her heart out of her chest.
Captain Franzen was asked to do a favor by protecting the Vice President, but he did not count on Tracy rocking his world. All his BDSM desires rushed to the surface by just the touch of her hand. All he wants to do is tame this sassy kitten to be his submissive and to conquer and rule over her. 5 Star review of Ruled (Honor Bound # 10) by Angel Payne
I have been waiting for John Franzen’s story since this series began and Ruled was so worth the wait. From the first to the last chapter I was captivated by his story and found myself reading well into the night; so much so that I went to work exhausted.
This is only the second author where I have read about a Dom/Submissive relationship based in the political arena and I was interested to see how this story would work.
Have you ever wanted to read a book so badly but dreaded diving in because you knew after it was finished that that would be it? That is the position I found myself in with Ruled. This has been one of my top series of all time from Angel Payne and she certainly has ended this series with one heck of a book.
Ms. Payne has assembled a cast of characters that will stay with you for a long time. I knew going in that it would take a powerfully strong, independent and yet vulnerable woman to capture and keep John’s attention. After all he was the commanding office of the WILD boys and he has always led by example. Frustrated and with plenty of time on his hands, he agrees to a favour for a friend, little knowing that it will change his life completely. Tracy Rhodes’s is just the woman, Vice President of the Unites States, a mother to a teenage son. she is a woman of power and yet underneath it all she is a woman who longs to submit. The attraction between Tracy and her bodyguard John is off the charts, not to mention forbidden and dangerous for them both.
When danger rears it’s ugly head with John be able to save the woman he has come to care for so deeply or with the unthinkable occur?
I believe Angel Payne has truly saved the best for last and Ruled has jumped into my number 1 in this series and that is saying something. I have loved each and every story she has written. I adore the romantic suspense genre, throw in BDSM and I am in heaven.
Congratulations Ms.Payne you have a winner on your hands.

John Frazen has always been the leader of a group of special ops military men. When that title is stripped from him and he is no longer special ops he struggles to find purpose. Enter Tracey the newly appointed Vice President of the Untied States. She’s in Las Vegas to give a speech and because one of the special ops guys assigned to protect her gets called away, John Frazen is called in to protect her! When terrorists attack the hotel and convention center she’s speaking at, their group is forced into hiding!! What entails is a story of danger, suspense, heartache and love!! Angel has really gone above and beyond with this book!! It’s the best of the entire series so far - and that’s saying a lot as every book so far has been amazing!! You’ve got to read this book!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Are you seeking a political thriller that is also romance and is super hot and spicy? Well, that's oddly specific BUT YOU FOUND IT!
Ruled by Angel Payne is a delightful thrill ride with lots of sex, a bountiful amount of politics and enough angst to blow up a high school. Seriously, it's kinda amazing how much was fit into this book!
Tracy Rhodes is the Vice President/second in command. She's got a pretty powerful position and she's one strong woman! Then walks in one hunk of a man and within a blink of an eye the two are totally hot for each other. Seriously, the sexy vibes go WAY up the minute they start talking. It's quite the sight. John Franzen is the man we are talking about, and he just takes the cake for his rough and tough demeanour.
This story is entertaining and mighty smutty. I feel like I needed to read some of the past books to understand this one though. I felt very confused on what was going on. It's still a great book though!
Two out of five stars - solely because I needed to read the prior books and I seem to be veering away from this genre? The book is great, but not for me.

Yet again, Angel Payne proves to me she cannot write a bad story. The author is flawless. Honest. She cannot write a bad book in my opinion, and Ruled was no exception.
Angel is known for her HOT, kindle melting, intense romances and this was no different.
I’ll admit I was late to the party when it came to the Honor Bound series. It was a series that I kept saying I would start next, but would end up reading something else. I fully regret waiting. Like really really regret it! I don’t know what took me so long to start this series! I’m now a complete sucker for a good, hot and kinky military/action story and Angel Payne specialises in them with this series!
Ruled is book 10 in the Honor Bound series, and has now become my favourite. It’s not a short read, and it’s not a light read. It’s intense and it consumes you from page one in all the right way. It’s kinky as hell, anyone that knows me, knows how much I like my kinky reads. But it’s not just about sex. She brings more to a story. She throws you into a plot with so many twists and turns that it’ll have your heart pounding, your body squirming, and your mind totally captivated.
Book 10, well damn. How do I put this in to words?
HOT, HOT, HOT.
Action packed.
Intense.
Addictive.
Flawless.
Those are just a couple of words on how to describe this book.
John? Hot, intense, alpha dom that worked for the First Special Forces, but now is back on home ground and trying to live a somewhat normal life and his assessment now is to look after the biggest politicians in the country, VP Tracy Rhodes. Seems easy right? WRONG! Never in his life did he expect to want this woman. A submissive that his dominant side wanted nothing more than to bring to her knee before him.
Tracy? She’s a delight. Strong, independent, and worldly. But behind the mask she wears for the world, is a woman craving the touch of a dominant man. So when John comes waltzing into her life. It’s the beginning of an insanely intense and all consuming love story.
This book had it all. Humour, action, steam, passion, suspense, thrill.. and there were a few moments in the book that I found myself with silent tears running down my cheeks.
Will Tracy be able to tame this Wild boy? Will she capture his heart? Will he be what Tracy has been longing for?
I guess you’ll have to read to find out!

Angel Payne has done it again!! Wild Boys are back and just as good, oh so good! She has written another winner in the Wild Boys series and when I heard another Wild boys book was coming out, I did a extreme happy dance.
Ready For His Rule (The WILD Boys of Special Forces Book 10) is as fresh as if this was book 1 and has all the action , suspense, romance and mystery that I have come to expect in the Wild Boys books. In book 10, we have Tracy Rhodes as the second-in-command and she is just under a lot of stress. Her life isn't hers yet this is what she has responsibilities and knows she just has to suck it up and do it. To be a woman cant happen due to the way her life is right now yet suddenly when danger suddenly looms in her life , it takes one handsome Dom to show her she can be a woman -oh yes, she can like it and love being a woman.
John Franzen was a Captain in the First Special Forces Group. He took on a favor for a friend to look over and protect one of the highest ranking politicians in the country, Tracy Rhodes . What he thought would be an easy peasy assignment turned into a life changing moment - This Dom meets a submissive who longs to break free and he wants to be that DOM who gives her what she deserves. Will she be the woman who can calm the storms that rage underneath his surface ? Will she be the woman who can settle him down and give him peace? OMG I can only tell you, I needed a long , cold drink and some place to cool my passions after reading another Wild Boys book. It was awesome and Angel Payne knows how to get the BDSM kinks written tastefully and beautifully but with some dirty to it. Oh kudos to her for a job well done!! You will rage, you will cry, you will be full of heat and in the end, you will be happy for the couple in this book. It is wonderfully fabulous!! I need more WILD BOYS.

When the free world is under attack and the VP is all that America has left, keeping her alive is the one job John Franzen needs to do. But Tracy, being the VP and a single mom does not go into hiding without putting up her own fight. But when sparks fly and passion ignites will the two continue to fight with each other in a power struggle or give into finding love in the wrong place at the wrong time? This book had me on the edge of my seat from the first few pages and I could not put it down until it was complete. Angel Payne has a way of making the reader feel like they are walking though danger with the characters and are feeling the same angst and horror through out the storyline. This is one of the best series I have had the pleasure to read and cannot wait for more!!

Franzen is my favorite Wild Boy!Absolutely loved this book! Angel Payne definitely delivered. Was sad to see this series end, but talk about going our with a bang! Franzen and Tracy's story tugged at my heartstrings and also had me laughing in spots. If you've never read this series you're definitely missing out.

A book that reminds me of Lexi Blake's Masters & Mercenary series, with strong Alpha Hero's that own a private BDSM club, but outside the dungeon take part in worldwide intrigue and covert operations. John Franzen is rushed in at the last minute to provide additional protection for Tracy Rhodes, newly appointed vice president of the USA when she visits Las Vegas. How do you find a balance when he is a bodyguard and a Dom, and she is sexually submissive, but also in line for the presidency. As usual in these cases, the woman needs to convince the man that they can make it work. You may enjoy this story if you are not scared of a barrage of metaphors and exalted statements that are meant to convey feelings and emotions, but to me, very much distracted from the story.

It took me a while to get into this story. I liked the storyline in general, but not loved it. The last third of the book I really loved, but up until then I had to push myself to keep reading. I can't really point to any particular problem, it just wasn't doing it for me.

Ruled (formerly Ready for His Rule) by the unparalleled Angel Payne is a story that blew my mind, making it another 5+ star read!! This story had me from the very first sentence! Angel just has this way of bringing sizzlingly HOT action movies into my head with her Honor Bound Men!
Tracy Rhodes is a woman with immense responsibility constantly pressing down on her. As the second-in-command of the free world, her life is no longer her own. She’s never free to be the woman she had always known, much less the woman she had no idea she really was. Who knew it’d take heart-stopping danger and six and a half feet of a Dominant to show her? The words that come to mind that describe her are grace, poise, beauty, feisty, and strength. Especially strength. A woman who can bring John Franzen to his knees is one with incredible inner strength. I mean, can you imagine John Franzen with a weak woman? Hell no!

Another rollercoaster for me from the amazing Angel Payne! Also, she brought a little bit of comfort for me in Franzen. Being so far away from home, this was the balm I needed. Thank you, Angel, for this astonishingly stunning adventure!

John Franzen is my absolute favourite
Ever since Angel Payne first began writing about her WILD boys and then her HONOR BOUND men, I have been waiting to read about the mysterious John Franzen. I knew his story would be one that would keep me entranced and hooked on every word. Angel did not let me down. Ruled is magnificent and my absolute favourite of the series.
John Franzen is the C.O. of the WILD boys, he leads by example and expects his men to follow without question. He is one tough, strong and very dominating alpha male. Struggling with too much time on his hands, resulting from a mission that went wrong, he agrees to help a friend out doing some protective security work. A favour that will lead to his entire world being turned upside down.
Tracey Rhodes, Vice President of the USA and single mum to a teenage son, Luke, is a strong independent woman who has a sassy sexy side to her that just needs a little nudging to make an appearance. She has a vulnerability about her, a submissive nature that is just begging for the right man to dominate and show her what she is missing in her life. This book “ruled” my heart from the get go and kept it until the end. Sometimes in life we wind up in places where we never thought we would. Tracy and her son are thrust into the wonderful/challenging world of politics with the dream of doing the best that she can for her constituents and the population as the appointed Vice President of the United States. John, aka Dragon, is a former member of a special operations team that is called in for protection duty when a member of Tracy’s regular detail is needed elsewhere. Each one has their trials and tribulations from their respective pasts but as the world blows up, they are forced to fight the unexpected and discover the traitor in their midst. Adding fuel to the already burning situation is the intense chemistry between Tracy and John. However, Tracy is a mother to her son first and foremost while John has some inner battles that need to be dealt with and obliterated. Can they both put aside their inner musings and do what needs to be done? Like the other books in the series, this one can be read as a standalone. It is filled with drama and penned with intensely vivid descriptions that have one falling back to the adage: keep your friends close but your enemies closer, with a slight twist….as if to say what if they are one and the same? This is one book, I highly recommend and look forward to the next book in this series.

John Franzen has always been the leader of a group of special ops military men and we have seen him in every book of the series so far. He is always ready, willing and able to help his men and the women they fell for in any way they need him to. After a particularly tough mission that title is taken from him and he is floundering a little with what to do with his life. When one of his men needs a favor John jumps at the chance to help. He had no idea that what was supposed to be a small security job for the new VP would turn FUBAR so quickly. They are forced to go into hiding and Tracy (the new VP and single mom) has some very strong opinions about the whole situation. While trying to figure out who attacked all the leaders of the free world and keep her safe John also tries to fight the attraction that started the moment they shook hands. There are many twists and turns and the suspense this series is known for as well as some HOT moments between John and Tracy as he helps her find her inner submissive and they give in to the attraction. I am sad to see the series end but what an ending it was.

For some reason, I didn’t get that this could be a political romance and it really wasn’t but, it bordered on it, given that Tracy Rhodes was a VP. It gave me trepidations when I started reading it because that isn’t the usual type of book that I love or even like. Well, let me tell you I enjoyed the H…. out of this book!
Oh and this story was Hot, Hawt, Hot! I had a LOL moment after reading that he was learning the secrets of her back grotto. So there is some back door play in this book.
John Frazen is very much an Alpha in which I LOVE in my books. He knew how to dominate Tracy given that she is a VP and a very strong woman. But, is submissive to John most of the time. Unless she has to go into Tigress or mom mode.

This story is one I waited for with an impatient heart. I longed to get inside the man that we have known for so long in the Honor Bound series. John Franzen or "Dragon" has been the gentle giant of the group of Special Ops. Franzen, the burly islander who traded his surf board for a pair of fatigues and a weapon eleven years ago, now finds himself protecting the second in command of the US government. This assignment proves to be more than just regulation security detail especially when the second in command wears kitten heels and an intoxicating scent that calls to his dominate side.
Tracy Rhodes carries more responsibility now than she ever imagined. Yes, she is the Vice President, but first and foremost she is Luke's mom. They both lost everything once and she'll do whatever it takes to protect her son. When a simple change of plans finds the brigade running from an explosion the security detail takes on a new meaning. John and Tracy cannot deny the fuse that is lit when they touch for the first time, or the blast of fireworks that erupts when the both let go of the pain.
All I could imagine was The Rock as John and Jennifer Love Hewitt as Tracy~just a magical story!!

Action-packed, seriously hot and fantastic! This one starts out with a bang (well, several bangs) and then goes ballistic. As the POTUS in waiting Tracy is on the run with her posse, her son and a group of badass Secret Service agents after a nefarious foe changes the world forever. The agent in charge is new to the group and former Special Ops with a big ole Alpha streak. John is tasked with taking the group off the grid and he's the one experienced with going dark along with a few friends. John and Tracy have an instant steamy connection and John is itching to get his hands on Tracy especially when she disobeys his instructions. Tracy is used to being in charge as VP but it doesn't take long for her to realize that John not going to put up with her disobedience. Whew, he's hot when he goes full on Dominant and makes her obey. These two sizzle as John teaches her a few lessons in submission. Hot, hot, hot! Spectacular storytelling, fabulous characters, steamy romance and a terrific political thriller makes this a must read. It's full of danger, suspense, adventure, mystery and really hot sex. They meet when John is asked to provide protection for Tracy during a speech in Las Vegas. Things swiftly go awry when the building Tracy is booked in blows up. What starts as a simple protection gig ends up as so very much more. They are drawn together from the start.
The story has amazing hot intense chemistry, BDSM, a solid story line, and very well developed characters. It is always great in my opinion when people from past stories come back to work together. We have several guys from the Honor Series come to help John keep them safe. This is another 5+ star book from Angel Payne

This is the 10th book in the Honor Bound Series. I think this is one of the very best of Angel's series. Ruled can be read as a stand alone. Ruled is the tenth book in the Honour Bound series. Tracy Rhodes is the Vice President, in Las Vegas to give a speech when a series of lethal attacks wipes out most of the world’s top leaders including the President leaving Tracy as Leader of the Free World albeit in secret as, as far as the rest of the world is concerned, she also fell victim to the international conspiracy raging across the world. John Franzen is the ex-special forces operative, who after doing a favour for a friend and stepping in to help provide security cover for the Vice President, now finds himself tasked with keeping her safe until she can assume her rightful role in Washington.
I wanted to love this book. I’ve loved the glimpses of John Franzen that we’ve had in the previous books in the series but for some reason, in this book, I discovered I don’t actually like him very much. The intimate scenes were explosive, as we’ve come to expect from this author but I just didn’t feel any connection between him and Tracy that made me care what happened to them. I really enjoyed the plot of the book and also catching up with some old faces – only Sam could get away with “Do ya have a brain to claim in that thick skull, ya hormonal numpty?” And yes, I did read that in a Scottish accent - but I eventually found myself skimming over the parts where it was just the two main characters. All in all, it’s not one of favourite books by this author.
