Grown-Up Prayers | Week #3

Temptation is something all of us face, and so did Jesus. He also included it as part of his teaching on prayer. Join us for part three of this series as we see how He dealt with temptation and connect that to our prayers. You can join us in-person outside on our campus or online each Sunday at 10:00am through http://www.nlnc.online.church!

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
What difference does it make that Jesus experienced temptations? How does that impact that section of His prayer?
Temptation leads us to embrace selfishness.
Temptation can look like faith, but is really manipulation.
Power is not primarily for the benefit of the powerful.
Wealth is not primarily for the benefit of the wealthy.
Influence is not primarily for the benefit of the influential.
Temptation invites us to yield to ourselves.
When temptation comes, Jesus invites us to follow Him rather than the temptation.

Prayer is following Jesus rather than ourselves or our temptations.
“Temptation is the threshold to loss. Choosing to follow Jesus is the threshold to life.”
