Josh got married, became a father and widower in a very short time. Having cancer, his wife, Gwen, hired Tracy to help with the twin's care. Even though her friend's death was hard on her, Tracy stayed to help Josh with the children. She had been with them for 4 years, becoming very close to the children and Josh and even though she didn't want to leave, she had finished her doctorate and knew it was time to move on. One day, Tracy was driving with the children when she stopped because the road was blocked by an accident. But it wasn't really an accident. It was a setup to kidnap Josh's kids. Someone wanted Josh to do something and holding his children would make sure he cooperated. Not only were the 4-year-olds terrified but one was diabetic, needing insulin and food regularly, adding a complication to the situation. The children meant everything to Josh. He'd do whatever it took to get them back safely. Even go against the FBI. Tracey was a great woman. She would do absolutely anything for the kids. She was a rock for Josh and kept him focused. He was lucky to have her because all he could think about was how to get his kids back. The tension was high in this book with the danger increasing when things didn't always go the way the bad guys wanted them to. The twist near the end was quite a surprise and left me thinking "holy smokes". There was also the secret Tracy kept. Fans of clean read suspense, defined without explicit sexual content and bad language, will enjoy the romantic chemistry, the suspense and the conclusion.
