IT Sligo Faculty of Science and Faculty of Business & Social Science: Online Learner Induction Day 5th September 2019

The Induction Day for all first-year, online students in the Faculty of Science or Faculty of Business and Social Science will be held on Thursday, September 5th 2019 at IT Sligo.

If you are a first-year Faculty of Engineering and Design online student your Induction Day will take place on Friday, September 6th and you should register at this link: https://onlinelearnerinduction2019engineering.eventbrite.ie

A detailed schedule of the day will be posted on the Online Students' Induction Course Moodle page one week prior to the event. You will not have Moodle access until you are fully registered as a student and access occurs 24hours after registration is complete. If you have not already received details on how to access Moodle you should contact admissions@itsligo.ie and if you are having issues logging into Moodle please contact helpdesk@itsligo.ie.

Please note you will not have access to Moodle until 24 hours after you have activated your student account.

The general schedule is as follows:

• Training on the virtual learning environment (Moodle)
• Information on Examinations
• Information Technology Services & Support
• Library Services
• How to access your online lectures.

You will meet other students on your course as well as your lecturers and have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Students who have paid their fees will also be able to have their photo taken and ID card issued.

We strongly encourage all applicants to attend the Induction Day, as feedback from past students stated that the induction event gave them the ideal start to their online course at IT Sligo.

If you cannot attend Induction, the main items you will be missing are:

• Opportunity to meet fellow classmates
• Opportunity to meet lecturers
• Introductory lecture or lab session on each of your modules: Practical Lab session on Moodle the system which provides you with lecture notes and other resources and where you upload your assignments
• Practical Lab session on Adobe Connect the system where you can view live and recorded lectures
• Opportunity to tour IT Sligo Campus and Library
• Opportunity to clarify any questions you may have on the course of study you are about to undertake.
