Continuing Education Information:

Goal:  To educate oncology nurses and social workers on current and emerging CAR-T therapies. 

Objectives: At the conclusion of this live, in-person program, participants should be able to: 

  • Explain the CAR-T therapy process.
  • Describe the role of CAR-T therapies as a treatment option for blood cancer patients.
  • Describe side effects and management for CAR-T therapy patients.
  • Identify emerging uses for CAR-T therapies.
  • Apply strategies to enhance quality of life for individuals who have undergone CAR-T therapy. 
  • Discuss resources available including those from LLS for patients, caregivers and healthcare providers

Target Audience:   Oncology nurses and social workers at all levels and licensure, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients who have, or possibly will, undergo a CAR-T therapy.

 

Approval for nurses has been obtained by the National Office of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society under provider number CEP 5832 to award 1.5 continuing education contact hours through the California Board of Registered Nursing.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), provider #1105, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org Approved Continuing Education Program (ACE). Approval Period: December 2017 - December 2020. LLS maintains responsibility for the program.  Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval.  Social workers will receive 1.5 CE clinical contact hours.

Upon completion of this program and submission of the activity evaluation, a certificate of completion will be issued to you within 30 days
