Ish Cepeda Know Future

Whats your name and where you from?

My names Ish Cepeda, just turned 22 on New Years! I know I look hella young. I was born in St. Croix, it’s a tiny lil island in the Caribbean Sea. Then I moved to Florida when I was 4. I live in Long Beach CA right now.

What was the local shop / hometown scene like growing up there?

The local shop was also the local indoor skatepark everyone used to skate. It was called “The Park” that place was so tight! Sadly they closed down. After school all the homies would pull up for the evening session, I had some of the best skate sessions of my life there. But shit growing up in Florida was dope! Our spots were pretty shitty lowkey, we would usually drive to Orlando every weekend to go street skate. It was hectic being there cause it would rain damn near everyday but we made the best of what we had.

How did you first get into skateboarding?

My homies in my neighborhood that I would play basketball and stuff with all use to skate. And one day he brought out his skateboard and he did a kickflip, and I was trippin!! I was like “HOW DID YOU DO THAT?! LEMME TRY THAT SHIT” and then I started skating his board. Eventually I would go over there just to use his board, I wouldn’t even play basketball or anything I just skated the whole time. Just like tryna learn how to kickflip n shit.

What size & style trucks do you skate?

I skate the 149’s raw thunders. I like my trucks just raw, no colors or anything just plain and simple trucks.

Do you ride em loose, tight or in the middle?

I ride them kinda loose, not toooo loose. Mine are between middle and loose. I think people that skate really loose trucks look sick as fuck, I wish I could pull it off.

How long do you usually skate a set for?

I usually skate trucks for like 3-5 months, depends on how much pool coping I skate hahaha. Nah I wish I could actually skate that shit. I’m workin on it doe!

Who’s your crew you typically skate with?

I usually skate with my Florida homies so like my friend Tyson Peterson, Dakota Hunt, Zion Wright, Jamie Foy, and my friend Thomas Dritsas. He’s from North Carolina, but he’s damn near considered a Floridian cause he’s always with us.

Whats the story with all the Florida heads living in Long Beach?

Dude I don’t even know, we all looked up to Blake Carpenter and TJ Gaskill growing up. We saw that they moved out here and how fun it looked. Tyson and I were the first to make the move out of our friend group. After we moved out here, a whole bunch of other Florida homies made the the move.

Favorite Florida skater of all time?

Andrew Reynolds.

What music gets you really hyped to skate, whats currently heavy in the rotation?

I mostly listen to rap, I’m usually bumpin Sosa, Gucci mane, G Herbo, Lil flash hard as fuck too. The SF homies put me onto Lil Flash. But it’s sick skating tranny with some black sabbath or some shit playin in the background. I don’t really listen to that kind of music on my free time, but when all the homies are shreddin da bowl or something it’s sick as Fuck.
