Inspiring Stories: How an Academic Rejection Led to Something Amazing
Have you ever not gotten a job you really wanted, only to land in a much better position? Ever had a paper you worked on for years rejected by one journal only to be accepted by a more prestigious journal later? Perhaps you've had a project that fell apart but that opened you up to a fruitful new collaboration.

At the 2024 Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Fransisco, we (Allison Henrich and Aaron Wootton) will be hosting a storytelling event where speakers will each share a story about a time when they experienced a crushing rejection in their professional life that ended up being a good thing. Each speaker will have no more than five minutes to share.

If you have a story to tell from your life, please use this form to request a speaking opportunity.

This session is scheduled to be held on Friday, January 5th from 3:00 PM- 4:30 PM at the Moscone South Building.
