When I met Billy in the previous book I just knew that his story was going to be a good one and I was not wrong. I loved the dynamic between him and Shayna and how they both had so much guilt from their pasts but they didn't let that stop the connection they had even when they both thought they were better alone. The sexual tension between then was crazy good and I really liked that they had me going so insane waiting for them to get together.

The only thing I can say negative is that I would have loved to see some kind of connection with Shayna and her family. Though even without it Billy was more than enough to assuage that guilt she held, which I was happy for.

2.5 Stars.

By far the worst book I have read by this author.

Lacking in pretty much every way. Apart from one instance of them offering mutual oral gratification to the other, this is a couple that spends 90% of the book skirting around their issues and each other.

The sex (when it did happen) was cringe-worthy with the porn star dialogue and almost emotionless delivery.

My first underwhelming read from one of my favourite authors. I hope its the last.

Fighting for What’s His is book two in the Warrior Fight Club by Laura Kaye. It’s an emotional and passionate read. And, it can be read as a standalone.

What I like most about this series and novel is that the characters and their emotions are so really and believable.

Billy’s got issues, serious ones, but is trying to overcome them. The Fight Club for wounded Vets is a great place for him to work out his issues and be around others that know what he’s been through.

Shay is also recovering. She’s fun and sassy, impulsive in her decisions, but focused on her goal. I like her determination to be a photographer that makes a difference.

Billy and Shay are well matched. I enjoyed their romance. Their were times I wanted them to talk to each other, but in the end I understand the feelings that they have. Both feel that they should not be together for one reason or another, but they have this attraction and like each other. The romance was quick almost insta, but not fully.

Fighting for What’s His is a quick, easy, and engaging read. It was a delight to read and I’m looking forward to the next installment.

“The girl-no, the woman-who was supposed to have been off limits had stolen his fucking heart.”

Another beautiful, emotional, and passionate romance from the lovely Laura Kaye! Fighting for What’s His is a standalone novel in her Warrior Fight Club series. I have to point out the obvious and say it was pretty friggin’ cool to read a book when you share the same name as the heroine of that book. I had butterflies going into this and they put up permanent residence in my stomach from beginning to end. These characters felt so real to me and I was easily able to connect with them on a deeper level because of the amount of emotion that Ms. Kaye brought to every single chapter.

Shayna and Billy were wonderful together. From the very start they shared a connection and it only blossomed the more they were around each other. Guilt, shame, regret…these two share similar demons, which made it difficult to move forward. After some stubbornness and other roadblocks that kept these two at a distance, a single tragic event made them realize that they are better fighting their demons together, rather than apart. The realization was heart wrenching and beautiful. These two…what they’ve been through…it made it really easy to carve out a place in my heart for them both. Laura Kaye has once again moved me with her storytelling. The way she brings her characters to life is amazing and it made me want to reach through the pages of this book and hold these characters tight and never let go.

Laura Kaye is my instalove go-to. Insta-love is so typically not my thing but Laura Kaye somehow sells it every single time and I'm always ready to buy what she serves up. Fighting For What's His is quintessential Laura Kaye, a roommates to lovers romance between a wounded vet and his best friend's little sister who he agrees to house until she finds her own place. This story is sexy and steamy and fast paced and I just loved being back inside the fold of this warrior fight club.

Billy Parrish is just delicious. His best friend's sister, Shayna, is off limits and his struggle with maintaining boundaries with someone he's so fiercely attracted to is an intoxicating little dance that I couldn't get enough of. This story is rich with heartache and layered with intense emotion and Laura Kaye weaves it all together in the most lush romance. It's just too good.

As with any story with an insta-love dynamic, things tend to feel a bit too easy, a bit hurried at times. But I just couldn't bring myself to care. I was here for the romance. I was here for the steam. I was here for the sexual tension and the reluctant attraction and I was here for this wounded warrior finding solace in a fight club and in a woman he was never supposed to want. I loved that their desire was immediate. I loved that the story moved along quickly without a lot of unnecessary drama. This is EXACTLY what I needed just now and I enjoyed every second.

- LAURA KAYE AT HER BEST, YET AGAIN
(I seriously haven't read a single book I didn't fall in love with and this one is no exception)

---

Most of you might know by now how insanely in love I am with Laura Kaye's books so you can imaaaagine how I must've felt when I received my e-arc of this book on the Kindle yesterday! Seriously; I feel so very honored to be a part of her review-team for this year. That's an experience I'll always treasure. So thanks to Laura and Franci, I was able to read this e-arc, which I received in exchange for me leaving an honest review.

---

Let's talk some more about this book then!
I was so so so excited to read this book and at the same time, that always makes me a bit scared beforehand as well. Scared it won't be AS good as you're hoping for. But there's just no disappointing me when it comes to Laura's writing like I was proven yet again by reading this book. This second book in the Warrior Fight Club series has stolen my heart, YET AGAIN, there's no other way to put it. I'm lost in the best way possible. Where I fell in love with Noah and Kristina's book, this second book sunk its claws in me as well, down to my core. This book is a phenomenal follow-up on Fighting for Everything and made me feel all the feels,. I laughed, I ached, I cried, I loved. There wasn't a single thing I didn't love about this book so let me tell you more about it.

Gun at the ready, he made for the bathroom, his free hand reaching the knob.
The door swung open on its own.
"Freeze!" he bit out.
Four things happened pretty much at the same time.
The woman screamed, jumped backward into the door, slamming it against the wall behind her, and dropped a pile of clothing to the floor.
And then the towel she wore around her chest came unknotted and swung open, baring every inch of her.
"Jesus fucknugget, Billy!" the woman screeched.

Our main characters are mesmerizing and interesting and loveable. Laura's characters aren't flawless and that makes them so realistic, so relatable and so extremely loveable. Both of our main characters are struggling with their pasts, both in a similar but also a completely different way. And it's written down so beautifully I think; their struggles but especially the part when they start opening up to one another. I had no problem whatsoever of losing myself to these characters and their story. Special note: Shayne's swearing IS THE BEST THING EVER!! And it's so endearing seeing how Billy picks up on this and starts doing it himself as well, sigh. Laugh out Loud moments guaranteed!!

He inhaled a deep breath meant to calm, but it was a mistake. A big one. Because he got a lungful of peaches and sweetness that was all Shayna.
Shayna who was Ryan's kid sister. Except...nope.
Not one goddamn thing about the woman standing next to him belonged to a kid. And he would know since he'd seen nearly the whole beautiful package.
"Hi," he said. "Welcome to DC. Sorry I nearly shot you."

I love the fact that Laura is so good at writing down not only a good romance and engrossing story-lines but that she's so good at writing down such well-developed characters. And I mean, every single thing about them; the emotional, the physical and what I'm in awe of the most; the psychological part of their characters. It's all so emotional and palpable and it gets you thinking and feeling so much at the same time.

"I was a fucking handful when I was growing up."
Shayna grinned. "Oh, so you're not a handful anymore?"
He gave her the strangest look, and then burst into a speechless guffaw.
Heat absolutely flooded Shay's face. OH.MY.GOD. Did she seriously just asked him if he was a handful?
"That's not what I meant!"
Grinning like a shithead, he turned the blender on high. One hand on his hip and the other on the blender, he yelled, "What? I can't hear you!"
"You are a total ballbag, Billy Parrish!"

And not only the main characters are what make this book such a great read. It was sooo good to read about the 'old gang' again, all of the characters we got to meet in the first book in the series but also some new to us characters whom I came to care for so much as well! Laura makes you fall in love with all of her characters, main and minor ones and it makes me so greedy for more books. I seriously just finished this one and it left me craving more this instant. - thankfully at least 2 more books are planned in the series, yay.

The romance starts out as a bit of a forbidden one because Billy wants to maintain his distance since Shayne is his buddy's 'little sister' and he promised to help her out. He struggles with wanting her and at the same time feeling like he isn't good enough for her - that's the PTSD part speaking, him thinking about Why he survived the war and a lot of his buddy didn't.

Why did I survive that shit when so many others didn't? He'd asked himself that so many times over the past three years...

He'd seen Noah and Kristina together, and it was crystal clear that they were a match of the happily-ever-after kind. And Billy was happy that so many things had turned around for the younger man- Noah had fought for it and deserved it. But it was still a sucker punch to realize you might never find that for yourself

But their connection and chemistry isn't to be ignored because holy canoly, do these two explode in the most beautiful of fireworks when they're together! I loooved how they first kind of built their relationship by being friends. This made for a great base of a building romance. Their banter is so much fun to read about, and I had to laugh out loud on several occasions. The humor is such a great addition and in perfect balance, to the romance and emotions you come across throughout the book. And as always, the hotness level is off-the-charts-HOT, sigh.. Laura always knows how to write a perfectly developed combination of chemistry/romance developing/sex.

He was enjoying spending time with her. She was funny and made him laugh and she was just... really easy to be with. Having her around this weekend had made him realize just how much he was usually alone. And that it was actually nice to have some company around his place. It wasn't going too far to say that he'd had more fun with her setting up her room than he'd ever had in this house since he'd moved in. Doing a whole lot of nothing special. And that was all due to Shayna

I've been a fan for years now and every time there's a new series being released by this author, I'm in wonder. In wonder of the fact that she makes me fall even more in love with her writing. She keeps upping herself with every new book/series and that's just unbelievably magical I think. the Warrior Fight Club is definitely on top of my all-time favorites list already. Fighting for Everything already made sure of that and having Fighting for what's His added to the series now as well, makes sure it has an unmovable spot on top of that list.

Fighting for what's his is a perfect blend of that really beautiful and addictive writing that only Laura can pull off, a truly mesmerizing story and the most realistic, relatable and loveable 'tortured' characters. Combine this with Laura's talent of writing the most beautifully well developed romances, her knack for writing the Best HOT as F*ck sexy scenes and we have another WINNER! Another Laura Kaye book that shook my foundation in the best way possible. Another story and new characters I came to love so fiercely.

The next thing Shayna knew, Billy grasped and pushed her against the wall behind the door. He kissed her full on the mouth. It only took her brain the beat of one second to realize he'd given her exactly what she wanted and to kiss him back. And dear God, the way this man kissed. Like he'd been starving for it. His hands were holding her face and his body was pinning her to the wall and his tongue was tasting her mouth like he was desperate for her. "You can touch me, damnit," he gritted out around the edge of a kiss. She buried her fingers in his hair, and he groaned.

It's for the fact that I HAD TO GET SOME SLEEP at some point in the middle of the night - I seriously can't function the day after without at least a decent amount of sleeping hours and I have a kid to take care of, so yeah, lol - otherwise I'd finished it in one sitting. UNPUTDOWNABLE! I cannot wait to read more of this author in general but this series has made its way into the core of my existence. I am so hooked on these books. It's needless to say I'd recommend reading this book, this series and every Laura Kaye book in general, right?!

Fighting For What's His was another great story from Laura Kaye. This series is fantastic with just the perfect combination of emotions and physical connection. Between Shayna and Billy. I thought this story had alot of heart with a hot dose of sexiness. I could not get enough!

Anyone who knows me knows that "roomates to lovers" is my favorite trope. I enjoyed Billy and Shayna's story as it was fantastic to see them battle their growing attraction to one another while also steering clear of one another due to her brother and his friendship with Billy. It gave this story a delicious, forbidden edge. I liked that both Shayna and Billy had residual guilt they had to get through in order to be together and were able to come back from the other side.

All in all, this was great and I look forward to more from this author in the future. Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

What's not to love about a wounded hero and the woman who helps him find himself and love again? Seriously, I am so enjoying this Warrior Fight Club series.

Fighting for What's His is a bit different from the typical best friend's little sister romance as both Billy and Shayna are a little bit broken. Billy due to his injuries and both Billy and Shayna due to survivor guilt.

Neither one expected to find love while living together temporarily. And neither one ever expected that the other was just what or who was needed in their life to truly bring themselves back from the self-flagellation.

I truly enjoyed Ryan and Shayna's romance. It was a bit of a slow burn, and so worth the wait! I can't wait for more in this series. ~ Missy, 4 stars

This book was better than the first book, but still not as action-packed and as well paced as I'd like. The characters were, overall, much more likable and did a lot for keeping me interested in the story.

Shayna was a fun and sassy person. Her impulsive decisions made for a predictable but rather realistic story. The almost ending caught me by surprise and I loved seeing her "in her element" and how respectful and understanding Billy was about it.

Billy was an overall great guy (still) dealing with issues (both mental and physical) from his time in the military. He was sweet, caring and most importantly emotionally present (which is rare in the alpha character trope). I liked how observant he was of the smallest details and how he appreciated when Shayna put effort into doing things his way so he wouldn't have to re-do them later. Billy and Shayna had amazing banter and chemistry. I wish that he'd told her how he felt earlier in the novel so the conclusion didn't feel so rushed.

The ending was no surprise, but it felt rushed when compared to the overall pace of the story. The world the author continued to develop in this series felt a little bigger this time around. The standout character for me in this novel was Mo and I'd love to read his story in a future book in this series.

My Favorite Quotes:

"There was absolutely no way to experience crisis, trauma, and violence - or even the threat of it - without it changing the way you viewed the world."

"It took losing the choice about whether to turn right or left to highlight which path you'd really wanted to go down all along."

I really loved FIGHTING FOR WHAT'S HIS because it features Laura Kaye's classic humor and witty banter between the hero and heroine. Shayna grew up around brothers so she's a bit of a tom boy and she knows how to handle her own with friendly insults. And boy those insults and creative curse words had me laughing out loud! I adored Shayna and wish she was real so we could be friends. She's the perfect match for Billy who can go between charming to brooding depending on the day and Shayna seems to know how to handle both.

Billy does struggle mentally and emotionally throughout the book due to a very serious injury that ended his military career. He still has nightmares, hates fire, and his self-confidence is a bit dented. Warrior Fight Club is Billy's saving grace but as he begins to fall for Shayna, he gets himself pretty mixed up. He wants to be with her but he also doesn't want to disrespect her brother who asked him to look out for her. He's also not the best at expressing his emotions and internalizes everything so makes some incorrect assumptions based on Shayna's behavior. While Billy has to overcome his demons they don't overwhelm the whole story; I was happy that this book wasn't as troubled and heavy as the previous one.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH NET GALLEY. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

I have to say that I have enjoyed pretty much everything by this author to some degree, so I was beyond excited to settle in to read this story! It was a fast-paced read, but a very well written one!

My chief complaint about it was that everything felt rushed in the story. There's very little background on Billy or Shayna's pasts, so we're forced to take them as they are. They fall for each other very quickly, but fight the attraction because they're not "supposed to" like each other. It fell a little like the insta-love trope, but with a few twists, which turned a hated trope for me into an enjoyable read.

That being said, I really loved Shayna! I thought she was a great character overall, very intriguing and engaging, as well as being very easy to connect with! I thought Billy was a good match for her romantically, and did enjoy watching them navigate their way to each other.

All things considered, this was a quick, easy, and engaging read that I thoroughly enjoyed!

He does not “fight for what’s his”. He does not fight for her. And she is not “his”.
Also both characters should see a therapist. I don’t see how talking about their issues would be enough to magically make everything better.

Laura Kaye always writes the most heart-warming romances and Fighting for What's His is no exception to that. Shayna and Billy's story was everything I'd hoped it would be and then some with brilliant chemistry right from the beginning but a slow build on the romance as they gradually got to know each other before giving into the lust they'd both been feeling from the moment they met.

Shayna is new in town and looking for a fresh start so her brother has arranged for her to stay with one of his best friends temporarily while she is settling into her new job and looks for a long term place to live. Billy is an ex Ranger who served with Shayna's brother Ryan before he was injured in an ambush and who now works as a private investigator. He's not really looking forward to having his friend's little sister cramping his style but he's not one to say no when a friend needs a favour. The last thing he is expecting is to find himself actually enjoying having someone to come home too and he definitely can't act on his growing feelings for fear of crossing a line his friendship might not recover from but those feelings are getting harder and harder to ignore.

I loved the slow build of this one and really enjoyed seeing Shayna and Billy getting to know each other and just enjoying spending time together. It was obvious from the beginning that they were attracted to each other but they both have reasons for being reluctant to act on it so this was definitely a slow build romance where the friendship comes first. They both have things in their pasts that they feel guilty for and that shared sense of survivors guilt really helps bond them together because they both understand exactly how the other person feels. They're a very sweet couple and there is very little in the way of drama between them which is something I really appreciate when I'm just looking for a hot and sexy story.

As much as I enjoyed them as a couple I also really liked seeing more of the other members of Warrior Fight Club and I'm looking forward to quite a few of their stories. There is obviously a sense of attraction between a couple of members but they're fighting it pretty hard right now so when they give in I'm pretty sure it'll be explosive. I'd also really love to see Mo get a book, he's been such a brilliant side character in both books in the series so far and I want to see him find his own happy ending. I'm always greedy for more books from Laura Kaye though so whoever is up next you can guarantee their book will be right at the top of my wish list!

Let me start this review by saying, Laura Kaye writes consistently excellent novels. She is an author I feel comfortable recommending to almost anyone, romance readers and non-romance readers alike. Her characters are relatable and fun while still dealing with real-life issues like mental health problems.

In Fighting for What's His, young and fun-loving Shayna Curtis moves to DC for a new job as a photojournalist. I loved the setting! I also live in DC, so I immediately felt a kinship with Shayna. One of the major plot points for Shayna is the expense and craziness of trying to find housing in the DC area. While this might seem a little silly, if you've ever tried to find an apartment in this area, you will totally understand. Some parts of her apartment hunting nightmares had me snort laughing, mostly because I've been there too!

To circumvent some of the craziness of moving to a new city, Shayna's old brother asked his ex-Army Ranger buddy to let her crash with him for a while. There are instant sparks between Billy and Shayna. Billy still has PTSD and survivors guilt from his time as a Ranger but manages to fight them out with his veteran buddies in Warrior Fight club.

Shayna and Billy circle each other for much of this book. There is a ton of sexual tension and explosive chemistry between them which is good because this story is a major slow burn. I do wish they had a few more deep conversations as a couple. I appreciated that they respected and understood each other, but I just wasn't sure how when they didn't talk about important issues. Half the book I felt like they were avoiding each other.

The ending of this book was rushed and tied up a little too neatly considering what deep emotional scars both Shayna and Billy had. There was an odd emphasis on seemingly random parts of this novel. Shayna's apartment hunting by herself/with her coworker, Billy's sudden fight; for big chunks of the book, Shayna and Billy were not even in the same room.

Overall, this wasn't my favorite Laura Kaye novel. I enjoyed the brother's best friend storyline, and I do like the direction she is taking the series, but I wanted more face time between the hero and the heroine and a more satisfying ending.

Loving the Warrior Fight Club series.

Billy and Shayna both carry around their guilt and blame themselves for things that they had no control. Perhaps, kindred spirits that see their self in each other. Billy doesn’t want to burden Shayna with all of his issues, but what happens when she moves on and he almost loses her? I love how Billy and Shayna both admit how they feel for each other and discuss the issues from their past.

Sometimes you just need to right person to talk to and it will make you whole again.

This was an easy read, one where you could guess where things were going. That didn't bother be because it was really hard not to smile when reading about Shayna. She was a bundle of sunshine, one who always seemed to find the good side of things, a person you wished was in your life for real. Even Billy with his curmudgeon ways made me smile. I had to laugh at how much he was fighting himself and his attraction to Shayna. Even when he found ways to ignore that he was a bit grumpy in a good way. I liked that at the end Billy was forced to face his feelings for Shayna and finally didn't hold back, once the words were out it was a done event.

Billy Parrish has proven himself a warrior, from his time in the military to his current job as a private investigator; he’s fought the good fight every day of his life, but he now faces an even greater opponent - one who has the ability to capacitate him and send him spiraling OR heal him in ways he never thought possible. But in order for this to take place, Billy needs to get his demons at bay and whether his new roommate, Shayna Curtis, can help him in that process is unclear because while he is attracted to her and his body craves hers, his decision to remain in control and alone makes Shayna’s fight an uphill battle, but it’s one she’s willing to endure because it’s beyond clear that fighting their battles alone is no longer working, so making it a team effort seems like the best option…but that’s the thing about people’s past demons…sometimes, regardless of how much they could use the help, their old operating methods plague them, placing barriers and obstacles that must be endured for these two warriors to learn to fight for each other.

Billy Parrish has a rough exterior, which makes perfect sense due to his background and his time served, and it’s also understandable for him to keep his distance from people given his loss and what he’s endured. But it’s beyond clear that Shayna is going to be one heck of a problem for Billy, not only because they’re forced into this ‘roommate’ situation, but also because their attraction is instantaneous and fending off their desires and feelings for each other just makes things that much more complicated.

It’s interesting to see how Billy and Shayna interact with one another when she first moves in; the sexual tension between them slowly builds each day they’re around each other, and while they both have every intention to stay away from the other, forcing them to temper their desires, it’s impossible for them to do so and once that barrier is tore down, what comes next will either heal their wounds or force further torment and devastation.

Fighting For What’s His illustrates that support and comfort can be found in many places…that trying to control feelings that just might heal one’s soul is futile. Billy found a way to cope with his past by pushing himself and his body at the Warrior Fight Club, and while he never thought he would find solace and peace with a woman when a certain woman enters his life - one that finds a way into his heart, the risks may multiply but so does the chance at happiness and once Billy realizes that, he’s willing to fight to claim Shayna regardless of what or who tries to thwart his attempts.

I’m a huge fan of Laura Kaye’s storytelling and her characters are always dynamically diverse; every story she writes is one that resonates with her readers, even in small ways, and allow us to escape into the world of protective men and the women who love them regardless of the scars of their past. Her Warrior Fight Club series, just like the other series that I’ve read, is a collection of fast-paced, suspenseful and steamy reads, and I can’t wait for Sean Riddick’s book!

An alpha wounded warrior and his best friend's little sister - Laura Kaye, honestly hit every trope that could be my favourite in this newest offering by her.

Billy Parrish
is an army vet turned PI - who suffers from survivor guilt but is doing his best friend Ryan a favour by letting his sister stay with him since she is new in the city.

Shayna Curtis, on the other hand; is hoping for a new start away from the family she believes blames her for the death of her middle brother. But a new start away as roomies with the man she had a huge crush on since her younger days, isn't ideal but she believes that her crush is long past, so it should be fine now; or so she believes.

What neither of them expected was a charged attraction from the first time they lay eyes on each other.

I loved the easy comrade between Billy and Shayna - how they helped each other through each of their problems and issues; how they became the support system and foundation without them even realizing it. I loved that they became friends; even through their attraction.

The level of angst could have been a lot more intense; considering that Billy is a vet & Shayna is a survivor - some issues that could have been dealt with in a deeper way. I still enjoyed this slow burn romance told in quintessential Laura Kaye manner.

3.5/5
Fighting For What's His is the definition of a slow-burn, with both protagonists fighting against their feelings and the chemistry crackling between them. The pacing lulls you into a dream-like state where only the power of Billy and Shayna's emotions are of any concern. Unfortunately, this does also mean that you feel like hitting them over the head on more than one occasion.

Billy has struggled with his return to civilian life and the weight of the survivor's guilt he carries with him, Falling into a career as a PI does nothing to satisfy the desperate need he has to help people and make a difference. Although this is mentioned in the plot more than once I didn't really see a solution presented within Fighting For What's His, I am hoping this will be rectified in Fighting the Fire.

What is surprising is the similarities between Billy and Shayna in the way in which they let regret and remorse direct their lives. Shayna has battled her inner demons alone since a tragedy within her family for which she feels responsible. Instead of opening up about her feelings she has bottled them up tight and allowed them to fester, affecting her closest relationships and upending her world. Even if it did lead her to Billy.

Despite Shayna's tight reign on her self-condemnation, she has a way of bringing optimism and hope into other people's lives. Something which endears her to people and allows Shayna to feel as if she has a purpose.

Apart from the self-inflicted torment Shayna and Billy carry with them, Fighting for What's His is relatively angst-free. The only other concern for our couple is the fact that Shayna's brother is also Billy's best friend and there is quite a large age gap between them. Very minor inconveniences in the grand scheme of things.

I really love the mismatched characters within the Warrior Fight Club and cannot wait to learn more about them as we get to watch each one felled by cupid's arrow 💞💝🌈😍

Billy Parrish is a private investigator and Shayna Curtis is his now roommate, his best friend’s little sister who’s a photojournalist.

Fighting for What’s His falls under the forbidden/roommates to lovers romance tropes that I know a lot of people adore (ME TOO!) but Laura Kaye takes a bit further as our characters are hurt and suffering form their past. They have survivors guilt and PTSD.

Laura Kaye if you don’t know writes some amazing books/series, her writing is always a treat. Her couples have such great chemistry (this is one not an exception). I really liked Billy and Shayna, they forbidden/relcutant aspect allowed to get to know each other before they gave in to their mutual attraction. They were sweet and easily to connect and like.

Quibbles: I wanted more them together, more of them to talk it out and seemed like there was emphasis on bits that didn’t need to be there.

Overall, its a fast paced book that deals with some big issues and gives a HEA for our beloved couple. It’s great addition to a fantastic series about Veterans and their well deserved happy endings !!

This is the second book of the series about veterans trying to find their place again in the civilian world. The MMA gym Fight Club gives them an outlet and more important, friendship. This is a best friends little sister story. Billy agrees to house his best friends younger sister as she launches a new job in the DC area. What he doesn't realize is that Shayna has turned in to a smart vibrant woman and is no longer the hang around little girl he remembers.

Loved Shayna's profession. Loved her passion for people and her confidence. Shayna and Billy together were just smoldering chemistry that stutter steps and then finally explodes. I love the Club members and all the support they give. The just 'know' each other on a deep level. They know when to step in and when to let things take their own course.

Great look at what it takes to serve our country and what many Veterans struggle with every day just to be part of regular society.

A little bit of action and heart stopping moments but mostly a sweet HEA built on friendship. Looking forward to reading more about these warriors.

I enjoyed Fighting for What's His, it's a great addition to the series. The theme of the series, with military vets and how they struggle adjusting back to civilian life. Now dealing with physical and emotional side of that. Shayna and Billy both connected right away, they shared something deeper and still had loads of chemistry.

They were housemates that became lovers that trope is always fun. That first meeting after years past was amusing and it also broke the ice. Their attraction is strong right away and seeing them battle their feelings was interesting. They had a forbidden feeling since Shayna is Billy's bestfriends sister. It brought more tension and delectable feeling to their story. It added to story that they both deal with guilt, something to deal with so they can move forward. It was good to see them get past that.

A solid story overall, it was wonderfully done. I look forward to more of this series!

Shayna and Billy take a sweet, slow, sexy burn to a whole new level in Fighting For What's His! This book features a sexy and grumbly veteran, and a sweet and sultry reporter who happens to be the baby sister of said grumbly veteran's pal in the force. When a favor turns into so a wickedly anticipatory push and pull fight of passion Shay and Billy are forced to see what their true desires are in love and in life.

I love these two together! They're witty, and lovable, and endearing. I was so softhearted for Billy and his past, and so charmed by Shay. Together, they shouldn't have made sense. One a thundering rain cloud, and the other a ray of sunshine, but they ended up making one of those awe-inducing moments of a downpour with the sun beaming. Billy and Shay captured my reader heart, and I so enjoyed their story!

Happy Reading

I am such a Laura Kaye fan girl…Love her other books and this Warrior Fight Club Series is no exception. This book was everything you want from a Laura Kaye book. I mean MMA fighters….she is a freaking genius when it comes to writing sexy scenes in any setting but MMA fighters, HELLO.

This story of Billy, who is a PI, a man whore, a former Army Ranger, fights and trains MMA fighters, did I mention hot as sin. Then he is thrown a huge wrench in his care free no strings plan….Shayna, whose brother sets up up to stay with an old Army Ranger buddy, Billy…..Let the fun begin. This is a great hot and sexy, with two characters that are bolder than life and have the chemistry to match.-Review by Catherine(Catty)

Billy seems to have his life in order. He works hard, plays hard and fights fierce. Despite the image he conveys, his wounds run deep. She's the battle that he never saw coming and not sure he can live without. Shayna is the one woman that has him questioning his long term plans. She's the beginning never imagined and the ending that he never wanted. Can he find the courage to conquer his demons and reach for the key to her heart? Fighting for What's His delivers the steam a Laura Kaye tale. From heartache to second chances, it's a gritty story filled with the emotion I've come to expect and that spark that I refuse to live without.

4.5 Stars. This is a “brother’s best friend” type trope, but it’s also a lot more than that as we continue to have the warrior fight club (and more of it in this installment) for helping former military members deal with the after effects of war and injuries. I’m this case Billy has burn injuries and survivor’s guilt, but Shayna has some survivor’s guilt of her own. Overall, I liked the friendship and slower burn build to this story. And the supporting cast was fun (especially Mo who also played a large role in book 1). I liked this one even better than the first in the series and look forward to the next installment!

I listened to the audiobook version of this book.

I enjoyed the chemistry these characters had and how the story progressed. There was a good amount of build up and sexual tension. really liked the back story of how they knew each other and the events that brought them closer. Great story line and writing.

The narrator gave a great performance that made this story fly by.
