The Rock Gods #4

Looking at Forever

Rate this book
Mick Wheland, Ivory Tower's bad-boy guitarist, has recently realized two important things about himself. He prefers sex with men over women, and the idea of a committed relationship doesn't scare him as much as it once did. He's seen the positive effects of love from watching his band-mates find life partners, and now he's thinking he might be ready for the same himself. The problem is knowing where to look for Mr. Right, and living out of a suitcase while touring with a band is not exactly conducive to finding real love.

Sonny (Rooster) Roostarelli leaves the seclusion of his Vancouver cabin, where he went to lick his wounds after a contentious divorce, and moves back to Los Angeles. He claims relocating to L.A. is for business purposes, but now that the dust has settled on his failed marriage, Rooster feels he might finally be ready to settle down – with a man.

A chance encounter for Wheland and Rooster on a busy L.A. street rekindles an old friendship between the two professional musicians. Rooster needs a short-term place to stay and Wheland has plenty of extra space at his hillside estate and that lands Rooster in Wheland's guest room. What starts out as a music collaboration opportunity quickly turns personal when the chemistry they have becomes too strong to ignore and soon the music they're making spills from the studio and into the bedroom.

The road is a grueling bitch musicians love to hate. Being on stage under the hot lights can sometimes be the only place they feel comfortable and alive. Can two high-profile rock stars make a life together in such an artificial world – on and off the stage... or will past mistakes and family secrets keep them from finding their forever?

I've been reading the books in this series completely out of order. This is book fourth book, and I've already read 3 and 6. They were pretty good...especially book 6... Really loved that one.

I was a bit nervous about this one, because Wheland was a bit of an ass in book 3 (coopers book), but I have to say, my worries were for nothing. I really enjoyed this one...I liked it even better than book 3.

Wheland and Rooster were so sweet together and even the mild bdsm didn't bother me...and I'm usually not into that.

They were great MC's and I liked the fact that they were not bullshitting around with each other. When they got together..they were all in !!!
They were also sexy as hell together :)

I didn't like it as much as book 6...but for now it's a close second. My only complaint was that the inner monologues were a bit too long.

I think I'm ready for book 5 now, maybe someday I'll even read book 1. I'm skipping 2 because that's mfm and I really don't like that.

4 "rockstars" from me

DNF @ 28%

One of my New Year's resolutions is respecting my own time. So, while this story is sweet and hot the technical missteps of unrepentant head hopping for me were too distracting and makes me not enjoy it even though the plot and characters are good. Mileage will vary, others might not be perturbed.

That was a really nice read. Wheland and Rooster were so great together. The growing to eachother was convincing. They were hot together and the bdsm was a really nice topping.
And now over to #5

If you take away the ping pong going on with the POVs(average of 3POV swaps per page), more than half of the sex scenes and the fact that this book was about 200 pages longer than it needed to be, I guess this could be seen as an okay book.

I skimmed this for the most part to get to the parts where the relationship between our MCs grew and jumped almost all the sex scenes and some frankly unnecessary portions of the story.

I will be reading the next book because I'm extremely curious about some of the potential pairings teased in this book. Also, you can say I'm an eternal optimist hoping things will get better in a series after 4 books of much the same. Oh and they're on KU so I might as well huh?

4.5 sexy rockstar stars!

Yay! Wheland is here!! Wheland is here!! Wheland is finally here!!!!

This is book 4 in the Rock Gods series, and while it could be read as a standalone book, why would you want to miss out on any of the m/m goodness.

Anyone that has read my reviews knows that I love a) rockstars b) m/m books. So this series is like crack to me!!

All through the series I have been wanting to know more about Mick Wheland. He has been a player in the relationships of his band mates, but now it is time for him to shine.

And boy when he gets together with Sonny "Rooster" Roostarelli, does he shine!

You know what I really loved about this pair? I loved that they are older and wiser and know what they want in life. None of this "I'm confused" or "gay for you" business. They know who they are and what they are - and they go for what they want.

I loved that we go more of the guys from the first 3 books. Their lives are so intertwined that it would not be a rock gods story without them all in and out of each other's business.

So will Mick and Sonny get their happy ending (not that sort -they get plenty of that sort!!) or will life on the road be too much for their fledgling relationship to handle?

Nope - for that you are going to have to read for yourself!

Along with Mick and Sonny/Wheland and Rooster's relationship in this book, we get an inkling into a couple of other potential relationships/books, that I am hoping we get. I am very interested to know what happens with Ashton and Dante, as well as with Tony and Jared. Things could get very interesting on those tour buses!

Ms Lister writes about relationships in such a way that you are drawn right into the lives of the characters. And it doesn't matter if it is a gay or straight relationship, love is love.

Now, hurry up and get writing, I need to know what happens with the other boys!!

4.5 HOT ROCKER STARS!!

Ann Lister’s books have been on my TBR list forever. I was so excited to read LOOKING AT FOREVER and although it is part of a series, it is most definitely a standalone. However, I will definitely go back and read her other books! I fell in love with Rooster and Wheland and I want to read more about the other members of the band.

I absolutely loved this story, it has the perfect balance of off-the-charts steam (I mean, it is HOT!!) and engaging writing. The characters are completely appealing, I connect with both Rooster and Whelend from the beginning, and I am a sucker for rock star books. Add the M/M factor and this book was a total winner for me. The emotional AND physical connection between the two characters is incredible and real and their scenes together are scorching hot.

If you are looking for an addictive MM/M read with two very open, vulnerable but very masculine characters, then Looking At Forever is the book for you. Happy reading!

I have been a fan of The Rock God Series from the beginning. After reading Coop and Jay (book 3), I couldn't wait for Wheland's story.

Wheland is realizing now that he feels more for men then women and he's starting to wonder if he can have that love that all of his other bandmates have. One day while thinking about his past (a memory he wants to forget), he literally bumps into Rooster :) (He hits the car that Rooster is in.) It's nothing life threatening, but they can't believe they bumped into eachother that way. They have known eachother for years and Rooster is back in LA. Wheland offers him a place to stay since he has plenty of room in his house.

Wheland and Rooster spend a lot of time together and in this time, they start for fall for eachohter, but both can't admit it. I loved how they started out and when feelings are finally revealed it was one hot scene after another. These two have amazing chemistry and I loved every minute of it.

Wheland gets news that he has to go on tour with the band, making him feeling so many emotions because he is finally in a good place with Rooster. Its hard for the both of them but they decide to make it work and I love that they were both committed to eaachother. When they could make trips to see the other, you can tell how much they missed being together. It was great seeing the rest of the band and their significant others and the way they accepted their relationship was awesome :) You'll see whats going on with them as well which makes you wonder :)

There were 2 scenes in particular that had me nearly in tears..one from happiness and one from sadness and I love how much Wheland and Rooster were there for the other during those times. Amazing!!

This was an amazing read and I thought I couldn't love the series anymore that I do.:) I am looking forward to the next one, Meant For Me and I know it will be another hit!! If you haven't read this series, your sure are missing out.

Amazing job Ann!!

This review is from: Looking At Forever (The Rock Gods Book 4) (Kindle Edition)
I'm going to start off by saying that I absolutely loved Looking At Forever which is Book 4 in The Rock Gods Series by Author Ann Lister.
We start of meeting Wheland ( guitarist) for the major Band Ivory Tower while he is on his way to a bar to try and forget an anniversary which weighs on him each year. As if this day isn't bad enough Wheland is involved in a minor collision which leads him to getting acquainted with an old buddy. Here's where we meet Sonny Roostarelli (Rooster), who also is a fellow musician. Fast forward and Wheland insists that Rooster stay at his place being he has so many extra rooms . Ok now fair warning!! From here on in you will be glued to your seats the chemistry between these two are off the charts Hot neither realizing the other feels the same way towards each other.
The pairing of these two was written so brilliantly that I felt as if I was right there with them. Wheland's band is going on tour and worry sets in being that Rooster does not tour anymore and records in studios. The fear is that will this put a strain on their new relationship? Will these two famous Rockers that live different lives be able to survive the distance forced upon them? Will their pasts get in the way? Well I'm not saying anymore you will have to go buy this great book and find out. I will say this, you will not be able to put this book down and if I could give this more than 5 stars I definitely would. I very much recommend this book and love this series and cannot wait for more from these Rock Gods.

Overly long, and with several scenes and sub plots that I didn't really feel added much to the overall story. I also expected for Wheland's "tragic past" to be a bit more, well tragic, than simply learning that

I also felt this had entirely too much sex, and didn't care at all for the strip club scene, or the one where Wheland walked in on Dante and that chick.

I DID like that Wheland and Rooster were pretty good at talking to each other. Once they got over that initial feel of making a move, there were no big relationship conflicts. Once they were together, they were together, thankfully, no big misunderstandings, breakups, or anything like that.

I love the series and the author's writing style. Wheelan and Rooster's story didn't resonate as much with me. It felt a little flat by comparison. Still very enjoyable though. 3.5 stars

This was easy and simple.

These two clicked from the beginning and aside from a little uncertainty as to if the other was into dudes, it was pretty smooth sailing.

I loved how they were able to be there for each other, even during a short separation until Rooster was able to join Wheland on tour. Also, when Rooster faced family tragedy, Wheland drops everything to be there for him.

I was a bit skeptical looking at the mixed reviews for this one, but I really liked it and think it continues to add to the story. It does floor me that every single person in and around this band all have lightbulb moments and discover they are gay. But I'm still like bing the growing rock band family and all their kinks.

This is the fourth book in The Rock Gods series and throughout we have had glimpses of Wheland and his questioning sexuality. In the last book Make You Mine, he finally acknowledges that it is a relationship with a man that he wants. He only has to look at his fellow band mates, now happily loved up, that he is searching for that one person meant for him. His other half, his forever man.

Sonny ‘Rooster’ Roostarelli, has been in the rock business for many years and is now at the head of his game. In recent years he has divorced his wife and after a lot of soul searching, ‘come out’ to his close friends and family. It is whilst he is taking some downtime that he literally bumps into Mick Wheland who he has acquainted over the years at various rock venues. But this time something about Wheland has him perusing the rock star in a totally different light. Little does he know that Wheland is also having the same feelings about him.

When Sonny tells him he is relocating back to LA and looking for a property, Wheland offers him to stay at his house. The pair then spend the next few weeks secretly observing each other, stressing that they want more but each not knowing the other is not straight. They play the friends game and collaborate on writing music together. It is through one of the sound recordings that Wheland hears Rooster confessing to his attraction to Wheland, that he decides the time is right for getting his man!

I adored this book and for me it is my absolute favourite of the series. This was a surprise as throughout the series Wheland has not been a character I have really gelled with. I thought he was a troublemaker and out for his own selfish gains but this book put him in an altogether new light and I found myself falling hard for the sexy guitarist. As for Sonny, well WOW what a revelation, he was stunning, the hot Italian stallion! The way Ms Lister portrayed their characters was instantly a book hangover in the making. I just knew these guys would be it for me. The relationship development was spine tingly and tenderly undertaken. It was also hot....megaliciously HOT! The steamy sessions were a kindle melting sensation. Rawr!

It was great to catch up with the other guys in the band plus Dagger and his husband. It was a great culmination of the series and one I cannot get enough of. I cannot recommend this book or series any higher. It is a definite must buy, must have, must read! Five ‘rocking hot’ stars.

The Rock God series is one of my absolute favorite series. I've loved each and every one of the books. They are so full and entertaining. I just lose myself in them.

I wasn’t expecting Rooster and Wheland's book to be such an emotional read. I felt for Wheland and how he grew up and I felt for Rooster and his family. I had tears in my eyes for him.
This book seems to have a little bit of everything. And I think Ann did a great job setting up future books with some of the characters in this book (Tony & Jared and Dante & Ashton!).

This book starts off with Wheland trying to forget the anniversary of a day he always hated! Not paying attention... He hits the car in front of him. Already not his day... He gets out only to find out that the car he hit belongs to his long time friend... That he hasn't seen in a while Rooster.
Immediately... Right from the start Wheland knew... He was a game changer. Because Wheland had finally come to terms with who he really is and who he really prefers in the bedroom. And Rooster was just his type.

Sonny Roostarelli (Rooster) just got back to LA. Having lived in Vancouver for a couple of years because he needed to get away. He was ready to make a change and move back to LA.
He’s only been back for a couple of days…. and already someone hits him with their car from the behind. Once they pull over to exchange insurance information. Rooster recognizes Wheland right away. They use to run in the same circles. Rooster use to be in a band. And they have crossed paths during concerts. So it was a good surprise bumping into each other... Well... More like hitting each other with their cars!

Once Wheland finds out where Rooster is staying. He offers Rooster one of his guest bedrooms in his house. He just couldn’t let Rooster stay in the rundown motel. Once Rooster agrees…
That's when things start to get real with them.

This book was so good! I loved how there was just enough drama..& it never was over the top. When they had problems... They confronted them head on. And I LOVED THAT!! There was never any running.

The sex in this book was super hot! Lots of voyeurism going on in this book! Which was VERY hot for me!
Wheland always just happened to be at the right place at the right time to witness other people getting it on!!...lol.
Everyone wanted him to watch... (the bus scene was….pretty hot!!!)
Both Wheland and Rooster went 0 to 60 pretty fast. But… It also felt natural. They both were learning things as they go.
Especially Wheland… This was his first real relationship. He really showed Rooster he was all in. He always put Rooster first!

Rooster goes through something really bad in this book. I felt so bad for him.
Wheland really stepped it up and showed him just how much he cared for him and wasn’t afraid to show Rooster the support he needed.
Rooster was able to really accept Wheland…. He showed up without him asking and was just there for him. And he really needed that.

There was also some deep issues that this book dealt with.
So many important messages in this book about getting tested for STD's and how one choice can change everything if your not careful and the importance of teens getting support with being gay or coming out.

I loved reading about all the past characters from this series!! I was just so excited to read about them! And where they were in their life’s.
But, she doesn't let these characters take over in he book. Ann had a nice balance.
And I loved that.

If I had to say something about this book that I didn’t care for or thought wasn’t believable… It would be this….

This book is pretty long. I felt like some stuff could have been taken out. And…
This isn’t a big thing… It’s more of a believable factor. Because I mean what are the odds…but everyone in this book is gay… and I mean down to the security guards!...lol
I mean like I said… it’s not a big thing… but… I just find it kind of hard to believe.

Overall this was a very good book! I can't wait to read which couple is next in the Rock God series!

Would I read more by this author... Yes I would...
What I recommend her book to people...
Yes I would!!

4.5 Heart Review by Dani

Looking at Forever, part 4 in the Rock Gods series, brings us to Wheland “Mick.” the bi-sexual bass player of Ivory Tower and Sonny “Rooster,” song writer and former member of a different rock group.

We’ve met Wheland before, especially in book part 3 as Mick is a very good friend of Cooper (also being his former hookup partner). Mick caused quite a bit of trouble for Cooper and Jayson while trying to figure out what he wanted for himself.

Author Ann Lister left us in book 3 with the question of whether or not Mick would finally figure out his sexual orientation and in this fourth part we get a full blown gay Wheland/Mick.

Both men are fabulous and interesting and sexy and hot like all the other men in this series, and the chemistry between them is off the charts and flying from your pages.

Wheland and Rooster pick up their friendship easily when they stumble into each other after quite some years. Having known each other for a long time, they venture out, spending some time together leading Wheland to offer Rooster a place to stay.

They carefully explore their wants and feelings and they get together in an intense way, moving fast when they finally give into their attraction and the pull towards each other. Knowing Wheland needs to get on the road eventually, the exact thing that Rooster doesnt want to do anymore, makes them both aware of the seperation that is going to follow in the end. Yes the need to be together is strong and very well presented by the author.

What I would have loved to have seen was the song Wheland wrote for Sonny, to hear him sing it for Sonny. Rooster toured extensively with his former band and it is exactly what he doesn’t want to do anymore a I mentioned and even his feelings for Wheland cannot change that. He does promise him to visit him on tour and the feeling of loss and missing the other is enormous and more then either of them had expected. Can they make it being apart for long periods of time after finally finding in each other the love they both have been searching for?

It feels wierd coming out of my mouth in a way I guess but a little bit less sex would be ok. I mean don’t misunderstand me I love the high erotica level in all these books and I am definitely someone who looks for that in the books she reads. It’s also the reason why I stated it feels odd coming from me, but there is a lot of sex.

The story, the characters and the allround writing is compelling, interesting, and exciting. The story holds it’s own really well (like the complete series does) and author Ann Lister obviously is obviously a master in erotic writing.

One of the best things about this series is the fact that all the main characters feature in each others stories. As one half of the main characters is part of the rock band Ivory Tower Alex (book 2), Cooper (book 3), Wheland (book 4) we see all of them and their (extended) families featured throughout all the books. Even Dagger and Ryan from book 1 make an appearence in all books.

The way Ann Lister keeps the connection between all of them is gold in my opinion. As a reader you feel connected to all the men and you can’t wait for more. There is always something coming that you want to experience.

So off to read the latest part to experience Jared and Tony’s story AND then hopefully returning to Black Ice with Dante and Ash.

*** JEN'S 5 STAR REVIEW ***

Ann Lister is quickly becoming one of my favourite go to authors for m/m reads. There is something about her characters and the plots that have me so fully engaged and connected. I have loved every single one of books in the Rock God series and this latest installment in the series did not disappoint.

This fourth book is Wheland and Sonny’s story. I have to admit after reading the last book Wheland didn’t strike me as one that would have won me over the way he has. Honestly he came off as a bit of a jealous ass in Make You Mine but I can admit that I may have judged him a little too harshly. Hearing his plight and his story through his eyes really had me falling in love with who this man is. He’s this complex man with a tough past and hash upbringing so he’s definitely a little rough around the edges with a tough exterior. Inside though he’s this gentile, caring soul who just needed the right person to come along to bring out best in him. Honestly there wasn’t a single thing that I didn’t love about Wheland. I felt his pain, his confusion and was so happy to get a front row seat in watching this man go from being so lonely to a man in love.

Sonny (Rooster) moves back to L.A. where he ends up rekindling a friendship with Wheland. Both these men have had been with woman and men in the past and have figured out that they love being with men more than they do with woman. I loved watching the energy, desire and lust they had for one another develop into a whole lot more than something physical. Their coming together honestly wasn’t something that took a whole lot of time but the pace at which they went felt natural and real.

I loved the connection these men had and I could really feel their longing when they weren’t together. Wheland finds himself having to go on a 9 month tour where Sonny doesn’t follow him on. Sonny left that kind of life behind him when he too used to tour with his band. Road life isn’t his thing so he stays back. Life isn’t easy for them, the time apart is difficult. Absence does make the heart grow fonder and sometimes you do what you have to do to be with the person you love. I loved how supportive and loving the men were together. They truly were meant for one another. I don’t even need to tell you hot and sexy they are or how it’s off the chats hot where the sex is concerned. If you have read anything from Ann then you know she never fails on the steam factor. This one certainly lived up to everything you’d want and more when two men come together and find their way with each other.

Ann really did a fabulous job writing this one. Their love story was beautifully written and I can’t tell you enough how nice it was to see these two characters fully committed to one another even while they were trying to figure things out. Their intensity and love oozed off the pages and I honestly could not put this one down. I loved that we got to see all the gang back together while they were on Tour. It was nice to see all the past characters and the roll they had within the story. I loved seeing how their lives have continued since the last book and I honestly can’t wait to see more. I really loved that while we got to see all the men and their loved ones in Ivory Tower from past books we also got to see more of Dagger Drummond and his band. I hope we get a lot more books in the future because this one really opened up a couple more stories that I would love to read about. Fans of the m/m genre should definitely pick this series up. Ann Lister is definitely a go to author for all things hot and sexy.

Looking At Forever-Book 4 in The Rock Gods Series by Ann Lister!!!

Ivory Towers guitarist Mick Wheland knows for sure that he likes sex with men now and he's ready for a committed relationship. He see's what others have and wants a relationship for himself now but the only problem is how does he go about finding Mr. Right. His lifestyle of being on tour, city to city doesn't exactly make for the greatest foundation of finding the love of his life.

Sonny aka Rooster is getting over a very painful divorce and leaves his Vancouver cabin for Los Angeles. Now that he's getting past his failed marriage, he's completely ready to find love again but the big question, with who? He runs into Wheland in L.A. and their old friendship they once shared is now rekindled. Rooster has no place to stay so Wheland invites him to stay at his mansion and this is where the juicy stuff starts. At first they connect on a combined loved for music but this leads into much more than just friends. I was so thrilled that Ann Lister brought back the boys from the first three books as it wouldn't be a Rock God novel without them.

I truly loved how Ann has developed this series (The Rock Gods) and the newest novel in the series is simply amazing. I love the hot and steamy connection between these characters and how Ann brings them and their love for each other to life. Ann's details of this MM love and the rock world is simply brilliant and so incredibly well done. The way she tells their story with Wheland experiencing a committed relationship with a man for the first time and even though Rooster has been out for some time now that this is also his first long-term relationship was just so well written.

I found myself completely attached to these characters and how they grow as gay men and develop such a beautiful relationship together was so beautifully told. This book was such an incredible page turner and you won't ever want it to end as you completely get swept up into their relationship and love for each other. This is something that doesn't always happen in every novel so I give the author lots of credit for accomplishing this. I highly recommend Looking At Forever for anyone who loves to read about the rock world, hot gay sex, drama, beautiful pure love and brilliant writing than this is the novel for you.

I absolutely love this series from Ann Lister. All of these books are based around a rock band, Ivory Tower. This story focuses on Mick 'Wheland', if you have read other books in the series you will know a bit about him already.

Wheland is yet to find his 'one.' Everyone else in the band seems to be falling in love and getting married but he is yet to find his love match, watching everyone else get their happy ever after is beginning to be something he wants too.

A chance meeting with a guy he hasn't seen in years, Sonny Roostarelli 'Rooster' soon changes everything for Wheland. Rooster is even hotter than Wheland remembers and the attraction between them may be something Wheland is just imagining but he is hoping that what he is feeling is a mutual thing. Wheland invites Rooster to stay with him in the short term, until he can find a place of his own. Rooster's marriage has ended and is looking for a new beginning.

I loved all the longing looks these two gave each other and the attraction they have between them. It is a cautiously, slow building thing and when these two give into their desires it is so freaking hot. Like panty melting hot! It would be fair to say that my husband enjoyed the benefits of how my body reacted to reading this story.

Wheland falling in love is just so sweet. Going on tour was just something he did without thinking but now that he has someone he loves in his life, leaving them behind is something he struggles with. He has never had feelings like this before and now he has completely reassessed how he spends his time. He can see a future that, until he met Rooster, never dreamed he could have. He is looking at forever with a man he loves, heart and soul.

This is a huge life changing journey for Wheland as he learns a lot about himself, finds out what it is like to be a part of a loving family and put others needs first.

I loved this sexy HOT read

I totally did not expect to fall in love with Wheland. In book three 'Make You Mine', I became unsure of him. His motives left a bad taste in my mouth. I know everyone makes mistakes ,it's part of life, live and learn as they say. I think Wheland is definitely learning from his mistakes but the past is exactly that and needs to stay there or can it?

Rooster a blast from Wheland's past enters his life just when he most needs a friend but it's a tough situation because he is very much attracted to Rooster. Wheland has a very dominate nature especially in the bedroom and no one has ever been able to handle him or his demands. Will Wheland ever be able to live a life with someone that embraces his dominate side.

Rooster can't believe what he is doing. He is heading for the biggest heart break of his life and just can't stop himself. Being a natural submissive, he can see Wheland is a true dominate and is craving him in a huge way.

Explosive that is what pops into my head. The chemistry between these two guys is like a bomb waiting to go off. I am like get naked already, LOL!! BDSM is a lifestyle choice, some may experiment with some form of BDSM, others choose to live the lifestyle. Being in a committed relationship and living the BDSM lifestyle is not uncommon.

This story pulled every emotion from me, the unexpected happening and completely took me by surprise. God, I think I even held my breath at one point. I just did not see that happening.

Wheland really is a beautiful man inside and out. He deserves to live his life the way he chooses. He may not have any real family around him but he has his band brothers and as Alex's says 'they are brothers by choice'.

I recommend this book to all lovers of M/M Romance with some elements of BDSM. Another epic story by the very talented Ann Lister. I'm off to read book five. I just can't get enough of these guys.

Wheland, Wheland, Wheland!

In book 3 of the series, Make You Mine, I seriously wanted nothing more than to punch this guy in the face. In Looking at Forever, not only does he redeem himself, I have such a great understanding of why he was that way. Now, I absolutely adore him!

What we learn about Wheland endears him to me. I dare say he is my favorite! Underneath the hard, bad-boy rocker is a guy just looking to find his way. After years of hookups and threesomes with his bandmate, he's beginning to realize that he prefers men over women.

Sonny "Rooster" Roosterelli is an acquaintance in the music world from long ago. He's just returning to LA from living in Vancouver for 5 years when he literally bumps into Wheland.

When they go to a bar to catch up, Wheland offers the newly returned Rooster a place to stay. After a few days, Wheland realizes that he doesn't just want Rooster as a roommate. He wants him in his bed.

The chemistry between Rooster and Wheland is sizzling. These two guys are incredibly hot in their own right, but together - wow. The visuals I had were blush-worthy.

I love the way Ann tells each of their stories. Wheland is not only experiencing a committed relationship for the first time, but one with exclusively with a man. While Rooster has been out for some time, he also has never been in a relationship long term. They explore these waters together. Where Wheland is the complete Alpha Male, Rooster is happy to let him have the lead.

There are a few ups and downs, but no relationship is perfect. Their love is so powerfully written, you feel in before they ever say it. These two are like the perfect puzzle pieces fitting together. I absolutely LOVED their story. It epitomizes what a relationship should be: supportive, nurturing and with open communication. Ann totally nailed it with Looking At Forever.

This was book 4 in "The Rock Gods"series. Mick Wheland, Ivory Tower's bad-boy guitarist, has recently realized two important things about himself. He prefers sex with men over women, and the idea of a committed relationship doesn't scare him as much as it once did. On the anniversary of one of the worse days of his life while on the way to a bar he has a minor fender bender and when the other guy gets out of his car it's Sonny (Rooster) Roostarelli. Rooster is also a musician who has in a few bands now he writes music and plays studio because he got tired of touring he is back in L.A. to record with his band. When Rooster mentions that he is living in a Hotel Wheland invites him to live with him. Each man is attracted to each other and they are both not sure of the other. This was a really good book that was a bit too long at times. Wheland and Rooster have some really hot sex Rooster is submissive in bed and Wheland likes to top and the sex scene when he chains him to the ceiling it was hot. When Wheland gets a health scare from a woman in his past secret comes out about Wheland and Cooper thanks to Jayson being jealous I also liked how the band handled it and came together in support of Wheland. When Rooster has a family emergency Wheland leaves the band to be with him and when his mother dies Ivory Tower comes to show there support. With Ivory Tower and Black Ice touring together there is a lot going on and a lot of hooking up and I am looking forward to reading about Black Ice's Dante and Ashton. This book was good it was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Title: Looking At Forever
Author: Ann Lister
Series: Yes
Release Date: November 28, 2014
Rating: 4.50 - 5 stars
Cliffhanger: No
Spoiler-free review

Looking At Forever is the fourth installment in The Rock Gods series.

Mick Wheland literally crashes into his old friend Sonny "Rooster" Roostarelli. Wheland is instantly attracted to Rooster. Rooster is back in LA after divorcing his wife and ends up staying with Mick. Sparks fly between the two men…but they don’t seem to have a clue about how each other feels. Then an accidental confession finally allows them to confront their feelings. Mick is the king of one night stands with men and women. He never thought he would settle down. Rooster knows what he wants, and he knows he doesn't want a life on the road. Are Wheland and Rooster looking at forever or looking at just right now?

Mick has been an uber-tool/player in the first three books in this rock romance series. It was amazing to see a loving side of him (I didn't think it was possible). Looking At Forever is packed with emotion and not just trying to be a smutastic “rock-n-cock” adventure. I really love this series. Each book can be read as a standalone. The other band members’ stories are nicely woven into each book. Ann does a tremendous job of not leaving us in the dark with the other boys in the band. I highly recommend this m/m series, and I can't wait to read Meant For Me.

Wow! Ann has again outdone herself in this 4th book of the Rock Gods Series!! The characters are amazing and you'll fall in love with them as the story line follows all 4 books. The hot sex, drama, romance, and excitement just gets better and better. In this novel, Mick Wheland, lead guitarist of Ivory Tower, was the bad boy in the group, but after seeing his band brothers fall to forever relationships, he wonders if he will ever find the right one, The Right Man...A chance car accident has him meeting up with an old friend Sonny Roosterilli, who is also a high profile musician. Wheland invites him to stay with him since he just got back to LA, and both have mixed vibes from the other. Each not knowing if the other is interested in the other, Wheland sets off to try and find out by bringing a girl in the mix which confuses them both, but ultimately the subject is brought up and their feelings for one another and the Sex gets Hot. Their relationship grows as each day passes, then Ivory Tower has to go on tour for 9 months...He wants Sonny to go, but touring was one reason Sonny doesn't do it any more. Their absence from one another tests their relationship, but it just gets deeper. The story includes all the other characters of the other 3, and the continuity of the lives of these people interacting is amazing. With all the curves that life throws at them all, they all pull together and are there for one another. This is truly a beautiful Love Story with a happy ending. If you love MM Romance and where it can take them and you, you will love this one. I highly recommend the whole series. Don't miss it.

Normally I start my reviews with my impression of the main characters in a story, but the synopsis for LOOKING AT FOREVER does an exceptional job setting the background for these two characters. If you haven't read it yet I recommend you do so now. ;) What I will say is this:

Mick Wheland: Holy rock-star hotness. Talk about a character that has a loooooong fuse. He is a steady and unassuming presence in the band, but when Wheland lets his inner bad-boy out to play he dominates the page, and Rooster too! You know what they say, "It's always the quiet ones."

Sonny (Rooster) Roostarelli: I want to cuddle him so hard! His kind and generous personality won me over instantly. He's silly, sexy and has a dirty mind... what's not to love?

The physical and emotional chemistry between Wheland and Sonny is so palpable that it melted both my heart and my e-reader! LOOKING AT FOREVER is the fourth in Lister's The Rock Gods series and there is a lot going on in this story. The characters are well established, fans who have been following the series will be delighted with the way Ann continues to develop the relationships from previous books without distracting attention away from Wheland and Rooster's story. It's the first book I've read in the series, so technically it can be read out of order, but I wouldn't recommend doing so. It's such an amazing and well written story that you're going to buy the first three as soon as you finish this one anyway... that's what I did!
