How to use your light box for Daily Classroom Passwords:
Last year, I started thinking of quick and easy ways to incorporate reading sight words/high-frequency words throughout the day. The beginning of the year is especially difficult because the kiddos don’t know how to read yet. Using your light box for “passwords” is the perfect way to get those kiddos reading!

Your light box should be displayed in the classroom for the kiddos to see when they walk into the classroom. Every day, display a different word in the light box.

When your students enter the classroom, they must read the "password". During morning meeting, calendar time, etc., The sentence will be read and discussed (example: What kind of sentence is this? How do you know? It is a telling sentence because it has a period at the end)
