THE PASSING OF A FRIEND

From Dana Daniels, I learned today of the passing of his friend and performance partner, Luigi the parrot.  

Dana shared the following:

It's with a broken heart that I share with you the passing of my little friend and partner Luigi the Psychic Parrot. He died of natural causes yesterday back stage at the Magic Castle in my arms. Luigi was 29 years old and has been in my family for past 28 years. I have been performing across this great country with Luigi for the last 27 years starting with our first performance on January 28, 1983 in the It's Amazing show at Cal State Long Beach. 

I would like to thank everyone at the Magic Castle for their help and compassion during this difficult day. I would also like to thank Jack Goldfinger Entertainment director for the Magic Castle for performing a broken wand ceremony in honor of Luigi.

The Show must go on! Although it was difficult, I completed my last two shows at the Castle with Luigi's understudy Cosmo. It was his first time in front of an audience and he did a wonderful job.
