Well...this was definitaly the most emotional book of the series. A very nice and steamy "best friends to lovers" story.

I really liked Tony and Jared together. I do have to say that I still like book 6 and 4 best. This one was a bit sappy for a rockstars book, but I enjoyed reading it a lot.

I have do have the same complaint as with the other books...the inner monologues are way too long.

I hope there will be a book 7 because I really don't want this series to end

3,5 stars for this one.

Meant For Me is Book #5 in Ann Lister's Rock Gifs Series.

I will start of by saying I am obsessed with this series Ann knows how to write a Book that you can't help falling in love with. The sex in her books are over the chart HOT but what you also get with her stories is a plot that is so brilliantly written that you actually feel as if you are right there with her characters going through their journey with them.

Tony Wilcox is the keyboard player of Ivory Tower, he has always considered himself being straight until recently when he and his fellow band member and best friend Jared Baker (Bass Guitarist) were involved with one of their shared threesomes, something happened and it has Tony very confused about his feelings towards Jared , who is also his roommate. Something happens and their relationship becomes very uneasy.

Jared Baker is going through a rough time ever since his and Tony's latest encounter, his past is eating at him with questions about his feelings for Tony which he is trying to deny and runs, leaving tension and hurt between the both of them.

Jared becomes very ill but Tony runs to nurse him back, things begin to get hot until ... Nope I'm not saying "inserts wink"

In this story we learn so much back story from Tony and Jared which in the other books they were very quiet and kept to themselves mostly. We learn a lot about their pasts and Tony's brother who we see a bit of and and plays an important part for Tony and Jared's trust and feelings for each other. You will CRY but.... Ann is brilliant, she does not disappoint , this story is such a beautiful journey between two best friends trying to determine if they can find true love with each other.

I literally highlighted most this book because I loved it so much but I'll leave you with two of my favorite quotes out of so many.

"You're doing it again." Jared pointed to Tony.
"What am I doing?" Tony asked and stepped out of his Porsche.
"You've got that look of doubt on your face again," Jared explained.
And, I intend to wipe it right off your face as soon as we get inside.
Tony lifted and eyebrow at Jared and reached for the gym bag of clothing he has stuffed behind the drivers seat.
"Is that code for you going all "caveman" on me?" Tony teased.
"I guess you'll have to come inside and find out," he said with a quick glance over his shoulder and a wink.

"Can we toast now?"
Tony nodded yes and lifted his glass. "Here's to the first day of our forever," Tony said.
"I'm yours, T. Every piece of me belongs to you," Jared added.
"Baby, I love you," Tony sighed and clinked their glasses together.
"Now, can we get naked?" Jared teased.

Now go out and "One Click " this 5 Star masterpiece today!!!

One may ask why I'm still reading this series if every single one remains at the same level as the previous? I have Noooo idea and really can't find the reason why. Perhaps it's my curiosity which keeps getting me in trouble so to speak.

So yeah, for the first 30% of this book I was excited because everything seemed to be going on well, then the dreaded "POV ping pong Olympics" began. I must admit it wasn't as bad as in the previous books but it snuck up on you when you least expected. Sigh.

Also, ONCE AGAIN(for the 5th time in this series) this book was too bloody long. There were so many unnecessary things added to the book and excessively long internal monologues and long winded sex scenes that I once again has to skim majority of this book.

I'll admit that the next book is the last chance I'll be giving this series after which I'll be throwing in the towel if nothing changes.

This was book 5 in the "The Rock Gods" series. Tony Wilcox is the keyboard player for Ivory Tower he is quite and always thought he was straight. Jared Baker, the bass player for the band he is also Tony's roommate and bestfriend. Each one of them have feelings for the other and both are afraid of what the other will think. When the band comes off tour Jared moves out he rents a beach house down the way from Dagger and Ryan. When Jared moves Tony is hurt he doesn't know what to do the other guys knows that it's something wrong and Wheland tries to help. Danni goes in to labor early and the baby is born premature Alex and Chase don't know what to do. When Jared gets pneumonia Tony finds him and takes him to the hospital he also moves in to take care of him. The two begin to sleep together and one thing leads to another until Jared gets a visitor and says the wrong thing. Things come to a head at Tony's brother Harry's wedding and Jared admits his feelings. Turns out as a teen Jared messed around with another guy he was confused and his feelings for Tony brought all that up. When Harry asked Tony for money he says know and steal 10 mill from him Harry is into beating people out of there money with Ponzi schemes and gets himself killed for it. This was a really good book the sex scenes were hot between these two. Tony and Jared are there for each in there time of need as well as the rest of the band. This book was well written like the rest of the books in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Dante and Ashton being lock up together after their fight.

Sad, frustrated, heart wrenching. These are the emotions I felt when this book started. I was so heartbroken for Tony and Jared. They are so in love with one another, but both too scared to admit it. I wanted to scream and shake them! Fuck, just talk!!! Spit it out!! They didn't listen to me for quite some time. They're the ultimate pig headed men!

I have been looking forward to this book for quite some time, and Ann delivered me a masterpiece worth waiting for. Once these two got past the fear and admitted their feelings, Ann laid out a beautiful, sensual, sweet, and passionate love story for me to sink my teeth into.

I couldn't put this book down. The love that Jared and Tony feel for one another jumped off the pages at me. The chemistry was so strong and I really connected with these men. Ann made me feel. I felt the heartbreak, the love, the passion and the happiness Jared and Tony shared.

Now I have a dilemma, I can't decide my favorite couple anymore. I've always known that Cooper and Jayson were my favorites in this series, but now I think I have a tie.. I can't decide between these two couples! (I guess they're
Worse things to be confused about lol)

I can't wait for Dante and Ashton's book. I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat until it gets here, but I know Ann will make my wait worth it, she always does!

Tony and Jared are best friends who have slowly been falling in love. They are both afraid to admit their feelings because they don’t want to ruin the friendship.

This is the story of how they come together.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about their love. They both had to overcome their fears and readjust their views on their sexuality.

Theirs is a bumpy road, but they come out stronger for it. When Tony and the band face challenges, they are able to face them together as a unit.

I love Ann, I really do, but these last two books? where'd the guys balls go? Book 3 I thought was a bit soft, but not overly done, so it was just very sweet, these last two have just been nothing but overly mushy. I'm glad they're in love, I don't need to hear it every 2 seconds. I do not believe that men, alpha rock god men at that, talk this way, no matter how in love they are. Though the story line is good, this was just very hard for me to get through with all the added sugar. I really, really hope Ashton and Dante kick it up in the badass notch next go round.

Meant For Me
I have to tell you all this first, Meant For Me is book 5 of Ann Lister's The Rock Gods series. The series itself follows two rock bands and the band members. Now I have had the pleasure of following these men since the very first book and I think you should definitely should start with book one Fall For Me first. Meant For Me is Tony and Jared's story. OMG- I absolutely loved this story and 100% fell in love with both men!! Ms. Lister gives us her best work yet and the emotions in this story just completely melt you. I can say without a doubt that this is the best book in the series so far.

This a friends to lovers book that will have you swooning throughout the entire read. Tony and Jared are the best of friends and have been inseparable for a long time. Tony has always thought he was straight until recently when Jared and him crossed a line sharing a women. Now Tony is realizing that he may have deeper feelings for Jared. Jared has never clearly defined his sexuality to anyone even himself. He has some past that he has never been willing to share. However, crossing that line with Jared has got him confused and shocked at himself.

image: description

I loved getting to catch up with all the band mates throughout the story. You will get updates from everyone believe me. Which I must say was pure joy because I needed to know if everyone was still pretty much happy. Plus we get a bonus you will get a lot more information about some characters you are going to meet soon. WAHOO!!

image: description

This story will just suck you into it. It is beautifully written and the emotions in this book just flow from the pages. Ann just has a magnificent knack for telling her readers an engaging story. You almost feel like your in the same room with these characters as a reader. This book is full of romance and passion. The sex is blazing hot with these two men. Ms. Lister can most certainly write some scorching hot sex scenes!! I was blushing at times for sure. What I loved the most was the pace of this story. The journey to love for these two was not so instant. Tony and Jared had to overcome many obstacles on this love journey and the main one was just learning how to be honest and communicate with each other. I will tell you this I fell completely in love with both of these men for sure. They captivated my heart quickly too. Now don't get me wrong I was fuming mad at them both for a while their. I laughed at times in this book a lot too. The banter and witty comments these two had me rolling at times. I also cried my eyes out. I'm not going to tell you why either....winks!!! Heck a good cry to me equals a fabulous read. I would recommend this book to everyone. It is so worth the read!!!

4.5 Heart Review by Dani

Being a big fan of this series, every new part that comes out is a treat. When finally book 5 came out and brought us Jared and Tony’s story it was everything you could want. It was sexy, hot with friendship and love.

There was also tension and miscommunication, the way things could have been so different if only both of the main characters would have just spoken their mind instead of making assumptions and perhaps even lacking courage.

Keyboard player Tony and bass player Jared both see themselves as straight. They are best friends and they are pretty used to sharing their women. During their last encounter, however, something changes and that opens up a world of different prospects.

It leaves both men to not knowing how to deal with their feelings and Jared ends up moving out of the condo they shared. Leaving both men devistated and unsure.

When Jared falls ill it seems to finally open Tony’s eyes and spur him into some action. When they finally reach the point that they cannot keep ignoring the big white elephant in the room, they finally find a way towards each other and the story takes a turn to a wonderful love story. It is so good to see the love blossom between then and author Ann Lister sure makes a really wonderful switch there in the plot line.

If you think it is an easy ride, you are wrong. Things being said (by Jared) taking wrongly (by Tony), family by blood (Tony’s brother, debts) and by choice (Dani, labor) all make sure that this part includes lots of action and drama.

Of course we cannot overlook the chemistry and the way author Ann Lister shows that her excellent reputation as erotic novalist more than well earned. The friendship and romantic connection between Jared and Tony is wonderful but the sexual tension is more than hot.

This book is a great addition to the series and I can’t recommend it enough. If you haven’t started this series yet you better make sure you do it fast because let me tell you this the author left us with a great teaser for the next book. Black Ice members Dante and Ashton will feature in that one and I for one cannot wait to see and as that story comes to life!

Meant For Me is the 5th book in the Rock Gods series by Ann Lister and it focuses on Tony Wilcox, Ivy Tower's keyboardist of Ivy Tower, and Jared Baker, Ivy Tower's bass player. This one is a friends, best friends, to lovers story, and it was fantastic!! I absolutely loved Tony and Jared's story. Wow!! There are no words for how wonderfully written this story was or how perfectly Ann Lister told Tony and Jared's story. Tony and Jared are perfect together. They compliment each other in every way possible. Their journey was a long one, filled with bumps, but it was so worth the ride. This one was not only funny, but it was an emotional read, too. I cannot recommend this one, or the entire Rock Gods series enough.

Now I need Dante and Ashton's story!! C'mon, Ann...write faster!! I absolutely love this series and this author's work. So, great job, Ann Lister on this on, and thank you so much for sharing the Rock Gods with us readers.

Update: oops the series hasn't ended.

This series started with an excellent opener Fall For Me and I'm quite happy that it ended with a solid read on a friends-to-lovers romance.

It lost me a bit in the middle of the series but all in all was a good read even though they were the sappiest bunch of rockers ever :)

2.5 stars, rounded up for the hotness.

The editing wasn't great here. I saw some misspelled words and some just plain wrong words. There was a severe lack of communication. It took two straight guys 61% to utter the word "bisexual" to describe their sudden feelings for another man. The brother stuff kind of came out of nowhere, first with a wedding, then with the money stuff, etc etc.

But I did like both guys, and the sex was really hot, so I'm bumping it up to 3 stars. I just wish this author would get a decent editor.

Meant For Me-5Th book in The Rock Gods Series by Ann Lister!!!

Tony Wilcox, the quiet keyboard player always believed he was straight. Now with a sexual hook up with his best friend is making Tony have feelings for Jared. He wants Jared for himself and their work relationship is no longer enough. Jared Baker, is a bass player for his band and his past is making it difficult being with the person he wants and desires – Tony. He has done his best to push Tony away but nothing can deter his feelings for him.

I absolutely just love this series as it has band members of two rock bands and the author gives us a great look into this rock band world. The author has topped herself with the characters of Tony and Jared as their connection and chemistry is so undeniably beautiful! Tony and Jared are the best of friends and they're always together. Tony always felt like he was straight that is until he had a sexual experience with Jared and something happened to open Tony's eyes and heart and now nothing will ever be the same again for them both. I love that she brought back all the characters and gave us some great updates on where they are now.

I truly loved how Ann has developed this series (The Rock Gods) and the newest novel in the series is simply amazing. I love the hot and steamy connection between these characters and how Ann brings them and their love for each other to life. Ann's details of this MM love and the rock world is simply brilliant and so incredibly well done.

I found myself completely attached to these characters and how they grow as gay men and develop such a beautiful relationship together was so beautifully told. This book was such an incredible page turner and you won't ever want it to end as you completely get swept up into their relationship and love for each other. This is something that doesn't always happen in every novel so I give the author lots of credit for accomplishing this. I highly recommend Meant For Me for anyone who loves to read about the rock world, hot gay sex, drama, beautiful pure love and brilliant writing than this is the novel for you.

T & JB Forever ...

All of the previous books in the Rock Gods series revolved around prominent characters that just begged to have their stories told. Sitting quietly in the corner were Jared and Tony, waiting or maybe not even caring, to have their turn. Everyone knew that something was up with the two of them throughout the series thus far. Ann Lister couldn't have written Jared and Tony's story any more perfect. These two have been cast from the same mold ~ they were more than best friends to lovers ~ they were two hearts beating as one before they even knew it. They both felt it, but neither fully acted out on those feelings ~ afraid of destroying their priceless friendship ~ as tragedy stuck this couple from the very beginning, the decision was made, the fear was gone, and the most natural, beautiful unconditional love found its way into these two deserving souls. This story was the sweetest of the series ~ just the way should be. I loved how they referred to each other as T and JB ~ their love was so intense, so deep, which in return, made the sex scenes smokin'!

“I'd get to live with my best friend again and...I'd be lucky enough to heat up the sheets with him, too.”

“You are the best of me,” Jared said softly.  “You are the one truly meant for me.  I am certain of that as much as my next breath.  You are my 'forever,' T ..." OMG ... SQUEEEEEER!!!!!

It's great when the other band members (Especially Wheland, who is hysterical but all grown up now!) get involved in Jared and Tony's life because it's always out of love and with the best intentions. They really are a family ~ through the good and the bad ~ Meant For Me was a softer side of our favorite rockers ~ and that's ok because I've a feeling that Dante and Ashton are gonna explode our Kindle's. Another fabulous story by our Rock Goddess, Ann Lister ~ thanks for bringing T and JB front and center stage ❤️

I admit that I am a late bloomer to the Rock Gods Series. You know the saying "Better Late Than Never" well that would of been me had I not read this amazing series by Ann Lister.

You all know that now it's Tony Wilcox and Jared Baker's turn in Meant For Me so I don't need to get into that with this review. We have all waited for the dynamic duo to finally get together, get their story and yes get their act together...

Meant for Me is a story about requited love between Tony and Jared. There were times when I thought Dear Lord are these two going to stop the cat and mouse crap and just admit that they love each other. What would we have done had we not had the help of Wheland and Alex to get these two to finally admit that there was so much more to their relationship other then sharing a chick or a Xbox game.

I actually had to say that at times reading this story my heart would go out to Tony and then all of a sudden uh-oh now it's Jared. I couldn't help it, I truly love these two and together and so much more the better. Sometimes the person that you least expect is the one for you all along. I believe that is what Ann did in waiting to write Tony and Jared's story and it was so worth the wait for them.

The book has everything and more that the readers will enjoy. The story itself is about the chemistry between Tony and Jared, the banter, the fighting, the procrastination (I wanted to killed them for that) and most importantly the want of each other. This is a passionate story of the heart with some sweetness rolled into it.

Meant for Me this another amazing read in this wonderful series that Ann has brought to all of us and I do look forward to the next one...Dante and Ashton's story but I think that Tony and Jared's story will stay with me for awhile.

REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE

4.5 Stars

I am quite a fan of this series and Tony and Jared’s story didn’t disappoint.

If ever there was a story when communication was key it was this one. So much heartache and misunderstanding could have been resolved very easily if only these two guys and had sat down and had a conversation. Instead they both panicked and drama ensued.

Ann Lister built this story through expectation and tension. The flashback to 6 months previous where the boys had their last threesome was particularly telling and where things started to go wrong for them. Both men were left raw with the feelings they either didn’t wish to understand or didn’t want to face.

It all comes to an end when they return from their current tour and Jared walks out the door with a finality that brings Tony to his knees. Both men are confused, both men are sad and both men know they need to talk but it just seems like the timing is always wrong and then Jared becomes seriously ill.

This pair were obviously so right for each other and so ready to move from friends to lovers that I just wanted to shake them! A flippant remark from Jared is the undoing of all the progress made and Tony is left hurt and angry refusing to even talk to the other man.

There is sadness and depression in this story but underneath it all is a commitment from both men to each other even if they go about it in a convoluted way. Let’s not forget to mention the hot sex! Ann Lister knows how to bring her boys together in the best ways!

There is also an insight into how Ashton and Dante are getting along, or not, and that is going to be a very explosive story.

Intervention? I can’t wait!

"love is love"

Tony and Jared have been kind of hanging around the periphery of this series, we haven't really gotten to know either of them really well up until now. They're not only bandmates but also best friends, living together and spending most of their time together. We got a tease that maybe there was more to just friendship, at least on Tony's side, in Make You Mine.

I thought Wheland and Rooster's story, Make You Mine, was emotional, but this book had me all over the place. This was a little different of a story from the previous books in the series, since these 2 were friends first. I really enjoyed that aspect of the story, but it was tough to see these 2 almost lose that friendship. A lot of the tension and heartache could have been avoided if they would have just opened up to each other. But then again, we wouldn't have had the chance to see them grow to appreciate what they had with each other.

This book definitely had a different feel for me than the other Rock God stories, and I think that really had to do with T and JB's friendship. I love a good friends-to-lovers story.

I really enjoy how Ann Lister includes all her characters from this series in each of the books. And it's not just a glimpse here and there- she has important pieces of their lives overlap into each other's stories, showing that this group really is a family, a "band of brothers".

Meant for Me is the 5th book in the Rock God series by the fabulous Ann Lister. Tony and Jared's love story has become my favorite couple in the series now.

Tony & Jared have been long time bandmates and friends that develop deeper feelings over time. Now is the time they are ready to take their relationship from friends to lovers.

Jared has something happen in his past that is holding him back from moving forward with Tony. Tony is not aware of this event. They initially struggle to move forward.

Once they do take the step to move on to being lovers, they take their time developing the physical relationship while knowing they are both in love with each other.

There is something that happens that Tony that is difficult and I honestly believe that Jared is the only one to help Tony get through this time.

There two men are meant to be together. The love that they have for each other is so deep and HOT.

This book made me emotional to the point of crying, made me fall in love along with them, and even brought some anger (but not too much).

You will get to see more of not only Ivory Tower band members but Black Ice, too.

Ann does a excellent job setting up Dante & Ashton's book. These two are going to be explosive.

If you haven't read the Rock God Series, why not? Get out there and get these books because you are missing out on wonderful characters, stories, and excellent writing.

Just when I think this series couldn't get any better, Ann blew it out the park with this one. I LOVED IT!!!! Tony and Jared....omg! I couldn't wait for their story because I didn't know what to expect with these two. Two strong personalities and they were dealing with so many feelings. Things started to change for them and they both were scared to acknowledge it for fear of how the other would react. let's just say the chemistry is off the charts and I loved every minute of it!!

Loved seeing the rest of the crew and Wheland...loved his role in their story. true friendship btwn all of them and it was great to see.. They all came together for Jared and Tony in their time of need during different times and through all of that you see changes in them.. Seeing all of the other characters has me excited for Ashton and Dante because whatever is going on with them is going to be explosive!!

Ann did an amazing job with this friends to lovers story. From the prologue, you'll be drawn in waiting to see what happens next and let me tell you, she does not disappoint :) this is one series you need to read!

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!!

WOW!! What an absolutely perfect addition to this terrific series. This relationship between Tony and Jared was more complicated than expected. This story was magnificently written and has so many emotional levels. These two men are hot, sexy, complicated and meant for each other. I so couldn't wait for this story to be released, I was not disappointed. I always thought these two characters were great, but their story was so much deeper. I was so glad to see what the other band mates and other characters were up to. I thought this story was finished with perfection and the lead into the next book brilliant. I thank you Ann Lister for these beloved characters and for always treating them with respect. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AFFORDABLE SERIES!!!!

Well, here we are with the fifth book of the Rock God series and it did not disappoint. Ann Lister has a talent for drawing you into the story and make it feel like a true story as opposed to fiction. Jared and Tony had a lot of struggles to get through to get their happy ending but what a journey. I absolutely love this series!

These two guys has been best friends for several years...and NOW...They are just noticing that they are attracted to each other. Wheland knew they would be perfect...Alex/Zander Metcalf knew. Reading about these guys says it all...they are falling in love. That is the reason why it is called Meant for Me. Beautiful story...HOT SEX as usual! Thanks, Ann, for a wonderful work!!!

A lot of miss understandings in the beginning...it was a nice story but just felt like it was missing something to get me to really like these MCs. I really enjoyed the other books in the series, this one was not my favorite. 2.8
