Description

Our next STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) workshop event will focus on MineCraft and it is INCREDIBLY EXCITING.

STAMPYLONGNOSE is one of the most followed YouTube users in the world: https://www.youtube.com/user/stampylongnose and we are SO EXCITED to tell you that we will be running a workshop with one of his main collaborators Adam Clarke, aka Wizard Keen: http://thecommonpeople.tv/ .

Adam is a freelance artist with over 20 years experience of engaging people in creative practice. His approach incorporates traditional techniques alongside digital technologies, including games based learning. A forefront creator within the online Minecraft community, he has instigated numerous groundbreaking Minecraft projects and is widely involved in the use of Minecraft within cultural, heritage and educational settings.

In 2014 Adam was shortlisted for the IK prize at Tate Britain and later in the year released Tate Worlds Minecraft ‘maps’ that present virtual environments inspired by artworks from Tate’s collection. He has also worked with archeologists and curators on the Tullie House Museums At Night project, to create an interactive event based around his online Minecraft map of Hadrian’s Wall. His popular Game School YouTube Channel programme “101 Ideas for Minecraft Learners” is featured on the CodeCampus KS3 Computing Resource website. He enjoys the process of creative collaboration and encourages the international exchange of ideas and expertise to realise innovative projects.

This workshop, which is open to students in ALL YEARS, will allow students to share their experiences of MineCraft and then as a group participate in a collaborative-build project to create a famous world landmark.

This really is a FANTASTIC opportunity for girls to learn from one of the world's leading MineCraft experts.

It is sure to excite ANY student who has dabbled in the use of MineCraft and places are STRICTLY LIMITED.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT SIGNING UP FORM TICKETS WILL MEAN THAT THE COST OF £45 WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR SCHOOL BILL.

Lunch is not included so students should bring their own food and snacks to keep them going.
