Turn a Dresser into a Compact, Laptop-Hiding Desk

Have limited room for a desk, but own a dresser? Problem solved! This DIY drop-down desk is perfect for dorm rooms and other small spaces, as well as cases when you want to hide your laptop away from sight.

Paige at Lucky Me Studios showcases this old (circa 1942) piece of furniture from a Penn State University dorm. It had the false drawer drop-down front and hole in the back already built in—a sign that students have been hacking their way to better workspaces for ages.

You can easily adapt this project for your own small desk needs. Or, if you already have a spot for your laptop or bigger PC, this type of dresser hack can also hide printers and other peripherals.
