Tarot tales from Newtown, Sydney, with a brief mention perhaps, of chai and other fascinating things.

I thought that this month I would share with you the animals that are closest to my heart! On the left is my live-in furry companion Wazza (Jasmine) the Burmese cat. Also known as Queen Waz-Long-May-She-Rule-Us-All. She really knows how to relax, as you can see, and is very accomplished at getting all the neighbours to worship her.

At the top right is Mishka the Boston Terrier to whom I am an Official Aunty. I see her at least a couple of days each week for walkies by the river, and for cuddles while she naps. She is adorable.

At the bottom right are the Duckies of Dhamma Bhumi, the Vipassana meditation centre in Blackheath. They potter around the centre all day and swim in the pond. I went up to volunteer for a couple of days this month and I took this photo. They were running away from me. 'Tis a one-sided love.

In tarot news, I've been doing more readings at events lately - from birthday parties and hens' nights to staff parties and other corporate events. Whilst nothing beats a quiet and private reading with a cuppa in my tarot room, having a reading at a party can be a fun and inspiring addition to any event. Read on for the Tarot Card of the Month ~ The Magician :-)

Tarot Card of the Month ~ The Magician

For those who are reading this newsletter for the first time, every month I talk about the tarot card that appears the most in the month's tarot readings. Even though the cards will always have individual significance, a commonly occurring card can also have a say about what's going on for the whole community.

Ah, The Magician. A tarot archetype that likes to make an entrance and wow us with the possibilities it brings. He/she turns up at the beginning of a journey and endows us with the confidence to walk into places we have never been before.

With the Magician we are reminded of all the tools we have at our disposal. We can rediscover that which we thought we'd forgotten and reshape it into our lives anew.

The confidence of the Magician means we have a better chance of making the impression we hope to create, as we are no longer hiding our abilities for fear of stepping on someone else's toes.

The Magician has never been one for keeping quiet. His role is to be seen and recognised in all his worth.

At times she may be mistakenly judged as arrogant, but the reality is that she is just very self-assured. She has worked hard on learning life lessons and feels good about presenting her findings to the community at large.

When the Magician comes in we have the opportunity to put forward ideas we had previously held back for fear of not being ready. When the Magician is in the room, we are ready enough!

There is always more to learn before we take to the stage but so much of the learning lies in standing before the audience and testing our findings live. The Magician can help us wake up to our potential this month.

The images I have included from my tarot collection all have very distinct personalities. Karen Kuykendall's Tarot of the Cat People Magician says, "I am more than ready to do some particularly awesome stuff this month! I fear no one as I allow myself to achieve more than I thought I ever could!"

Robert M. Place's Alchemical Tarot: Renewed Magician says, "I stand here before you, completely bare and hiding nothing. I will work hard with you and will share many insights if you allow me your time."

Michelle Leavitt's Tarot of the Cloisters Magician says, "There is a lot to consider and a lot to get done. Know the skills you wish to work with and don't hold back."

And Ellen Lorenzi-Prince's Tarot of the Crone Magician says, "Rrrah! I am going to help you find the fire within and burn off all the doubt and apathy. There is no room for living quietly with me. Live OUT LOUD and force people to see you for who you truly are!"

And on that note... 'til next month dear readers,

Best wishes,
Sarah Barry (Psychic Sarah)

P.S Want more tarot stories? I post a Tarot Reading for the Collective on my website every month.

The deck for this month's reading is the Collective Tarot by the Tarot Collective! I love this unique deck from a group of artists in Portland, Oregon. They sure know how to bring the magic of tarot to the people! Read on for October's oracular odyssey!

(I generally post the Tarot Reading for the Collective in the first week of every month.)
The Magician from Tarot of the Cat People by Karen Kuykendall.
The Magician from Alchemical Tarot: Renewed by Robert M. Place.

I make and sell my very own delicious blend of chai tea - Psychic Sarah's Queen of Cups Chai. I personally select, grind and blend the spices and package every single packet of chai.

1 packet of 220g chai costs AUD$20, and will make you at least 48 large cups of delicious authentic chai tea. (That's 16 litres of chai - have a party!) Read a review about it here.

You can drink a pot of my chai in-house and/or purchase a packet to take home with you at Suzy Spoon's Vegetarian Butcher, Newtown, and Petty Cash Cafe, Marrickville. Or you can order it online - I ship all over the world!
