Peter Pan has to be one of my favorite novels. So much so, that I forced my fellow English teacher to teach it to her British Literature class. It is that iconic tale of straddling the adult world and the innocent, adventurous world of childhood, and so when I saw Gina Maxwell was planning a retelling I was equal parts excited and scared. What would Pan look like modernized? Well, Gina Maxwell shot Pan way out into the stratosphere. I was consumed by the adult romance of Pan and Wendy as well as elated by all the iconic parts of my beloved tale she wove into their epic love.
All the characters we love are here: Tink, Pan, the LOST Boys, Hook, the Darling siblings, and so many more. While she made these characters fresh and new, they still held the core attributes that made them who they are from the original story. Pan is still adventurous, mischievous, a bit cocksure, and Wendy is still that lady who is seeking a bit of adventure. From the moment they meet again, their flame rekindles almost immediately and I loved watching an adult Pan trying to find a way to live an adventure with the love of his life.
The story is very reminiscent of the original tale as well. Wendy is still trying to live in her elite world of manners and nobility but craving the freedom she feels with Peter. Peter has moved towards the world of adulthood but still revels in the freedom of childhood. These two try to find a way to balance it all and find a way to keep their forever this time. What will really win lovers of this tale over is that are beloved moments are also here. What I will tell you is that, Gina Maxwell already has me chomping at the bit for more.
Pan is everything a retelling should be. Gina Maxwell did the novel justice while making it her own and adding the bits of romance we long to see with an adult Pan and Wendy! I got to revisit my favorite Peter Pan moments from my childhood, get the sexy romance I enjoy as an adult, and live in the space between. It was just a wonderful, perfect, reading experience.

I stare into his blue eyes sparkling in the lamplight, promising unexpected adventures and stories untold.
Pan was a fun and whimsical adventure! It had so many references to the Peter Pan I fell in love with as a child. But this time around, everything I craved as an adult was there too. And while this book is contemporary, just know that you will need to stretch what is believable. For me that was effortless to do, and I loved how the story unfolded. So if you're looking for a romance novel, that is also a retelling, then definitely give this one a chance. I'm so glad I did!
“Okay,” I whisper.
Hope and excitement flash in his eyes. “Okay?”
“Yeah, okay.” Taking a deep breath, I utter the words that will begin our story. “I’ll go with you to Neverland, Peter Pan.”
We started the story off when Wendy and Peter were just kids. From there, we alternated between Wendy and Peter, while they were in the past and the present. It was all done so seamlessly and I loved seeing every aspect of them. I loved watching them forge a friendship so easily and then becoming the best of friends. Their younger years felt so innocent, and you couldn't knock the smile off of my face. Especially when there were scenes like the thimble, oh my heart! But slowly they evolved into something more. Well, until Wendy moved away and Peter was left in Neverland.
Then I claim her lips like I once claimed her heart—fully, almost desperately. Even growing up as I did, I’d never needed anyone. Not until Wendy. Not until I asked her for a kiss, and she gave me a thimble. From that moment on, I needed her like I needed air.
While I absolutely loved peeking into their past, the present would sweep me off of my feet too. Wendy has returned, ten years later, and I loved seeing where their lives had taken them. Even though years had passed, their deep and beautiful friendship was still there. Plus there was also this amazing sexual tension between them! While Peter and Wendy definitely had a lot of stuff to work through, I had hope since Wendy had a huge heart and I loved how Peter saw her. They were both each others biggest champions and their love felt eternal.
With a smile on my face, I follow Peter into oblivion and dream of our happily ever after. It’s perfect and amazing, and everything I ever hoped for…except for that tinkling bell that won’t stop echoing in the distance.
But the story wasn't just about Peter and Wendy. All of our other favorites were there too, and my favorites so far.....besides Wendy and Peter......were Tink and Hook. Tink was as feisty as ever. That girl has so much fire in her. And Hook broke my heart and I may just be rooting for his happily ever after the hardest. I love that there are so many fabulous stories this series can tell! Pan was one of the most creative and unique retelling I've ever read, so I can't wait to see what's next!

Such a fun premise brought to life by the amazingly talented Gina L. Maxwell. You'll adore this new world she's created, starting with the lovely second-chance romance of Peter and Wendy. And boy, is it steamy. I can't wait for Hook's story!

I bought this book as part of #IndieApril. Unfortunately, my Advanced Reader Copy schedule was too tight, so I wasn’t able to read any of the books I bought until May. As you all know, my the last IndieApril book didn’t impress me, so I figured I would read something by an author that I’ve been dying to read.
Not going to lie, I’ve always wanted to read Gina L. Maxwell simply because she is fantastic to follow on Twitter. She engages with readers and is just so much fun to follow (seriously, you need to follow her @Gina_L_Maxwell). Even though I love her tweets, I was nervous to read one of her books. It’s like that moment when you meet a celebrity, you never know if they’re going to be what you expect or be a disappointment. Well, I can now say that Gina’s writing is perfect. I’m judging myself for taking this long to read one of her books.
Pan is one of my favorite books this year. It’s fun, bright, and the banter was phenomenal. I couldn’t help but swoon after Peter, want to be best friends with Wendy, and at times smack Tinkerbell. It was just perfect. I loved that this was a fresh take on Peter Pan that features no magic. Seriously, the only magic in this book is what Peter can do in the bedroom. Peter is a mechanic, that is sure to make you look at your mechanic differently. Every character that you loved in the original fairytale is in this book. Gina really brought together the aspects of the classic novel and intertwined them into a new unique take. There are so many callbacks to the classic that many Peter Pan fans will squee in enjoyment.
As you all know by now, I’m a sucker for good characters, and this book doesn’t disappoint. Each character is well written. They are not flawless, which makes the story more believable. I loved the chemistry between all of the characters. You can see the love between the Lost Boys, Tinkerbell, and Peter, which was really lovely to see.
The relationship between Wendy & Peter was beautiful to watch. I genuinely enjoyed watching them fall in love in both the past and the present. Seeing how each of them grew up was fascinating and incredibly well written. I also liked learning more about the relationship between Peter and Hook. They’re so similar yet different. I cannot wait to learn more about Hook in the next book! I hope that the comradery and differences are explored.
All in all, this was such a fun read. Gina L. Maxwell was able to put a fresh take on a beloved fairytale. It was steamy, and so much fun! I highly recommend this to any romance reader. Even if you’re not a fan of Peter Pan, this fresh take will make you fall in love.

Ok wow. WOW! I was sucked in from the first chapter and did not want to put this book down! I absolutely loved this modern day spin on the magical fairy tale of Peter Pan. Gina L. Maxwell did such a fantastic job of merging the elements that we all know and love into a real life setting. She was just so clever in her interpretation, and I smiled so big every time she mentioned something familiar from the original book/movie. I’m already obsessed with all the characters and can’t wait for all of their stories as well! This was a beautiful second chance, friends to lovers romance. Peter was soooo hot while also making me swoon from sweetness. He loved Wendy to the very deepest part of his soul, and their connection was so potent. Wendy had such a nurturing spirit, and the way she treated Peter and the Lost Boys made my heart so happy. I absolutely recommend this book! I loved it from start to finish.

It’s a tricky thing for an author to take a classic & beloved fairytale and write a retelling in a way that doesn’t tarnish the story, yet keeps the characters and their world recognizable with a fresh, modern twist, but Gina L. Maxwell has taken on this task with fervor and flare.
Normally retellings seem to be focused solely on the characters names with a basic similarity to the original. This is the first retelling where I felt like I recognized each scene and the true heart of the story but in a new and exciting way.
I was going to make reference to all of the different things you can expect to find in this book that would convince you just how well the author incorporated the many detailed themes of the original story but I feel the experience of discovering it all on your own is far more important. However, I don’t want you to think that this story is predictable or just more of the same because it’s far from both of those.
If anyone was a fan of the TV show Once Upon a Time I think you’d agree that we all saw that it kind of makes sense that Hook is pretty sexy but I never imagined that I could see Peter Pan that way. I was totally wrong. For all that this book does to remind me of what I love about the original story, it definitely showed me a side of the Lost Boys that I’m totally into, in a not at all innocent way.
Now that I’m done with Peter and Wendy’s story and have been introduced to all of the secondary characters and gained insight into what’s in store for them, I’m most excited about Hook’s story but I have no doubt that Gina L. Maxwell is about to blow our minds with each new book in the Neverland series and I’m so here for it!!

Gina Maxwell's stories are pure kindle candy for me. They are always sexy, sassy and full of swoons. When I heard she was writing a Peter Pan retelling I could not jump on this story fast enough. Wendy and Peter's story was emotional and full of the steamy moments we've come to expect from this author. It was so much more than a second chance story. It was riveting and intense with light-hearted moments! I enjoyed this so much!
When Wendy Darling returns to Neverland to ask her lost long love, Peter Pan, for help she never would have expected their old connection and chemistry to be stronger and hotter than before. What follows is a deeply romantic and heartfelt story of a modern day Peter Pan with all the sexy banter and feels. I enjoyed getting to know the "Lost Boys" and friends and seeing the deep and complex family dynamics between them. I look forward to the next book in the series as these characters have taken over my heart. Hook in particular has my interest piqued as his dark and troubled character is calling my name! Having just read Peter Pan (the children's story) to my 3 year olds, I came across this at GR and was curious based on all the positive reviews. But after speed reading a few chapters or so, it is definitely not my thing and had to DNF. This is a shameful attempt to advertise it as "adult" content but way too childish for me (even with all the sexy/naughty bits)!

This author did a fantastic job of modernizing this classic, beloved fairytale. This is a contemporary romance with all the feels of magic and adventure that you expect from Peter Pan. Please note this is not a fantasy novel. This is the first book in the Neverland series and while the focus is on Peter and Wendy Darling, we essentially get introduced to all the characters with a bit of their history including all the Lost Boys, Pirates and Darling siblings.
The story alternates from the past and the present and we follow Wendy and Peter's first meeting at age 12 to their second chance at love with their reunion in their 20's. I loved the innocence and curiosity of their first love moments and the chemistry and steam in their adult relationship. Peter was an amazing character! He was a born leader, protective of the Lost Boys and Tink and his adoration and determination to claim Wendy was defiitely swoon worthy. It doesn't hurt that he, and in fact all the Lost Boys, grew up into sexy, huge muscular men. It paints quite the visual.
I did feel that for characters in their mid to late 20's they were a bit immature. Certainly I can understand Peter's behaviour. Peter Pan is after all struggling with not wanting to grow up but Wendy's tendency to overreact in situations had me giving an eye roll or two. I also felt like the main conflict in the story was a bit underwhelming and then the ending felt a bit too perfect/cheesy/corny.
I did enjoy this story overall and I encourage you to try this book. The concept of this retelling still intrigues me and the end of this book has me seriously anticipating Hook's story which is next in the series.

I loved this story! It was incredibly clever and smartly done, all while being extremely entertaining and fun. The author took something familiar and made it fresh, new, and exciting to read! Wonderful start to a new series!
I loved Wendy and Peter. He was charm and sexiness and she was a bit buttoned up but putting herself out there. I loved watching her character really open up. I loved their story and history. From the time they were kids to now and how their friendship and love grew. I smiled and was giddy and might have had to fan myself a time or two. They had a wonderful building love story that I couldn't get enough of. Emotion and drama and fun, I loved it all!
Pan was a well thought out and detailed story with a great flow. I loved how the timeline was presented and that it was dual POV, so you got to really know the characters. There were so many great parallels between the past and present and there was an awesome build happening between the two. All the characters, places, and references were fantastic. I loved all the fairy tale tie-ins, they were seamlessly woven in at the perfect times. I'd get excited while reading when I'd see a reference to the original story and how the author used it in this modern-day tale.
There is a wonderful cast of characters with familiar names and it was fun seeing all the different connections. There are Tink and Hook and everyone I love. The Lost Boys had distinct personalities that were intriguing. Learning about them, especially Hook, was eye-opening. I felt so much underlying emotion when learning about him, it was like I was holding my breath. Hook's such a compelling character and I can't wait for his story.

What a way to start my year reading "Pan". I met the Lost Boys on page one and they never let me go. Gina has masterfully entwined elements of the beloved fairytale Peter Pan into a hot, sweet, contemporary romance. Loved everything about this book.
This will be a favourite read of 2019 for sure.

I enjoyed this very much! I'd never read a Peter Pan retelling and I think Gina L. Maxwell did a great job! If you like Peter Pan, I think you will like this modern day contemporary second chance (sweet) romance retelling. Complete with of course Peter and Wendy. But all the other Lost Boys, Tink, Wendy's brothers, John and Michael, Tiger Lilly, Chief, Hook, and Crock are all present too!
This is book one in the series and Hook

From her first Fairytale, Seducing Cinderella, to this retelling of Peter Pan, Gina has yet to disappoint. Omg. I think I found my new favorite book!!!
Obviously, this book follows a modern day version of Peter, Wendy, Hook and the lost boys. After recently reading the first book in a well known trilogy that was a spin on a classic fairytale, I was nervous. Extremely. This book landed in my inbox exactly one day after I started the “other one”. And that other one made me shudder. So I was worried. What are the chances of two Fairytale retellings in the same week, and both being hard to read? I should’ve known better!
The quality of writing does not disappoint. The story arc, while somewhat predictable, is complete. Without questions. The knowledge of cars (I spot checked with my hubby because, hello, muscle cars...) It’s all there. If you’re looking for total destruction of the heart and lots of angst, read something else. However, if it’s an escape from reality, an HEA, and just a really good romance that you’re looking for, this one is HOT!!!!
Obviously, this book follows a modern day version of Peter, Wendy, Hook and the lost boys. "I stare into his blue eyes sparkling in the lamplight, promising unexpected adventures and stories untold."
This book is one of those that splits my heart. On the one side I really enjoyed reading it and it really is possible to find some magic between the pages (and sheets ;-)) but something was missing. At least to me. And I can't even tell you what it is. It's just a feeling, my feeling. And just because I didn't find it, it doesn't mean you won't find it.
"It's impossible not to enjoy life with Peter Pan. He makes even the simplest pleasures an epic adventures,..."
Gina L. Maxwell succeeded in creating the world of Peter Pan and the Lost Boys in modern times. It certainly helps, that the "boys" all fall under the category "damn fine male species" and the author kept all their original characteristics. Also the easing into the adult character versions of Peter, the Lost Boys, Wendy, Hook and all others is well done. And the flashbacks to the past helped with the understanding of Peter's and Wendy's relationship.
I'm sure, if you are into retelling of fairytales you'll definitely love this book! And with the second epilogue, I have no other chance than continue reading this series with Hook (coming soon).

REVIEW: 3.5 STARS
"But for the record, whether or not I'm looking at you, I'm always paying attention to you, Wendy."
I have made it no secret that I have enjoyed the fairytale side of the naughty in a few books, and being able to add Peter Pan, Tink, Wendy, Hook, etc to that lineup was nothing short of exciting for me. I mean, how do you capture that innocence and wonderment that Peter Pan had? The not-a-mean-bone-in-his-body kind of child, but in a mature, grown man? I can't imagine that would be easy, but I feel like Gina L. Maxwell gave him and Wendy a great story and the beginning of a standalone series of interconnected books - of which, I will be following closely.
I enjoyed and appreciated the way Maxwell gave Pan his own voice, but followed the innocence of the original Peter Pan we knew and loved while growing up. The 'moral, clean side' of the fairytale shines through in this retelling but he just happens to be a little naughtier now. The wonderment of life, from the POV of a child suspended in a fairytale yet set in modern times, is what I loved most about this one. I think she captured that innocence well.

This was the easiest book to read! Visually appealing, mentally stimulating...and memory jogging. I obviously remember Peter Pan from growing up, but I feel like Maxwell gave me back a little bit of my childhood (not the naughty side!!) with the way Pan acted and how he spoke. He felt like, to me, that he was still living in a fairytale world but had grown into a possessive man in a gentlemanly way. I wish I could put into words exactly what I'm trying to say, but I feel like I'm talking in circles. It's almost like she physically took Pan out of Neverland, but he never really left that world mentally. Does that make sense? Let me try again.... the edge and grit Maxwell gave The Lost Boys wasn't anything we would have seen in the original movie growing up, but the play on their circumstances and their backstories is what kept me turning the pages, but also has me jonesing for the next book in the series.
I will admit that I hope that the voice in this story was lighter and easier going because of Pan's personality and who he is, whereas Hook will hopefully read deeper and with more heaviness added in because of his situation. His backstory was hinted at in this one, so I know that when I dive into Hook, I am probably going to struggle emotionally with the impact of his youth and his personal struggle. I cannot honestly wait to read that one.
One thing I did ask, because I feel like I'm completely vested in these characters individually and as part of a whole, is if there will be other stories. She told me that she has ten books planned in the series with Tink following Hook, and then she stated that she's operating on a "No Lost Boy Left Behind mission" so they each will get their HEA, because based on how she set this up, they all have a story to tell. She gave a brief idea of what her Lost Boys of Neverland books will consist of - in no certain order:

Another great book by Gina L. Maxwell! Seriously, I think I’m in love with her!!
What I liked about the book:
If you have read any of my reviews, you probably know that I love three things:
1. Fairy-tale retellings/reimaginings. Something about taking the concepts I grew up on and twisting them for my now-adult brain really works for me (let’s not look into the psychology behind that one).
I especially enjoy when something as magical as Peter Pan is worked into an everyday setting, like mechanics and illegal businesses.
2. I love a good dirty, yet sweet romance. In other words, I love the whole “dominate-me-during / cuddle-me-after” scenario, and Mr. Pan delivered! He is without a doubt a total dom, but he still calls her baby.
ALSO, when he asked if he could give Wendy a “real kiss”, when he stated “I used to be a Lost Boy, but the night I met Wendy, I became found”, and when he made them necklaces from their childhood gifts to one another??? STAHP! He is just the sweetest, most adorable badass I’ve read in a while. Like, can we stop with the perfect MMCs, Gina??? You’re creating unrealistic expectations!
3. I love spinoff potentials!!! So glad I got the chance to read this now when I can go scoop up Hooks book next!

I need Tink and Michael…STAT!
What didn’t do it for me:
1. This is totally a me problem, but I guess I was looking for a bit more maturity in Peter Pan. I know, that’s stupid. But it’s a reimagining…Why did you wait until the last minute to order something knowing this was the biggest event of your woman’s career? Come on, dude, get your sh*t together.

Unfortunately this didn’t work for me. A modern day retelling of Peter Pan. I wanted to give this one a try though I don’t normally read retellings because I have loved some of the author’s previous work.
Unfortunately I felt like the characters were really immature though I know that this is in line with the original story of “never growing up” but I just didn’t buy it... I struggled to get through the 25% and just didn’t want to continue.
Maybe this is a try at a later time type of read :(

When Gina Maxwell first announced that she was writing a contemporary romance series based on Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, I was super excited! I'd never read a Peter Pan retelling, and I was curious to see how she would do it, while incorporating iconic characters, moments, main Disney elements and STILL keep it a sexy romance. Well, she proved to me why she's one of my go-to authors. Gina Maxwell knocked PAN out of the park! This book is sweet and sexy, romantic and passionate, touches on a couple of dark subjects but is also a little whimsical. In other words, it's everything!
Peter is the leader of his band of boys at the School for Lost Boys, a home for abandoned and orphaned boys--and one little girl. On the surface, that is. The owner, Croc, forces them to work in his chop shop, and their existence is miserable. To bring a little bit of joy to the boys he feels responsible for, he ventures out at night to hide under the window of a home where a mother tells her children fairy tales that he can carry back to the Lost Boys. One night, he meets the girl in that home, Wendy. And a wonderful, close friendship blooms between them. And she becomes a child-like, mother figure to the other boys desperately in need of kindness and love. Wendy is captivated by Pan, his wildness, bravery, protectiveness and loyalty to his friends. As they grow older, their relationship changes, and they fall in love. But college and life separates them for ten years. But then Wendy returns to Neverland--and to Peter. She needs his help to restore a classic car for a fundraiser she's in charge of. Pan agrees, but assisting her is just part of his plan. He let Wendy leave him once. This time, he doesn't want to ever let her go.
What I loved about this book--well, one of the things--is how cleverly Gina Maxwell weaved elements from the Disney movie into this very adult romance. From the characteristics of Peter Pan that he's known for--never wanting to grow up--to the side characters, to even something as small but significant as the thimble Wendy gave Peter. It was all incredibly sweet. But on the other hand, the sizzling chemistry between Peter and Wendy, the themes of criminality, abuse and privilege were all threaded through, and made this fairy tale very real. The story made my heart hurt even as it made me smile. And I can't WAIT for Hook's book (it's going to break me, I can already tell!), as well as the other characters. I'm already picturing Chief as Jason Momoa in my head, so yeah, I want his book BAD.
PAN is a stellar first book in what will undoubtedly be a wonderful, fresh, unique series. I loved it, and am a believer in the magic Gina Maxwell creates.

I could not wait to get my hands on this book! I was always a fan of “Peter Pan” when I was growing up and was excited that Gina L. Maxwell was doing a modern day retelling.
The story was told in dual points of view. Past and present tense. I loved the way the story was written because you got to see Peter and Wendy fall in love. With all the odds stacked against it was so nice to see them make it work. *sighs*

And, boy if people in today’s world could believe in this iconic phrase from the classic story, Peter Pan, and sprinkle some of the magic and innocence of Neverland into everyday life, imagine what contemporary society could be.
But while readers wait to infuse some of the magical properties of Peter and the Lost Boys’ favorite place into our daily lives, contemporary romance lovers can journey to Gina L. Maxwell’s Neverland, North Carolina, and experience a motley and boisterous crew of young boys who love to play pretend in order to escape their less than ideal circumstances and a family of grown ups who understands the importance of both work and play and vow to never take anything for granted because they’ve learned long ago that nothing is guaranteed.
Gina L. Maxwell seamlessly weaves the past and the present together in her quest to transition Peter and Wendy’s innocent love as teens to the all-consuming passion that they experience when Wendy returns to Neverland and to Peter, and while they both have changed in the time spent apart, their love for each other never has, but the fact that these two have always been from two very different worlds is still a point of contention, but the fact that Peter let Wendy go once has no bearings on the present, meaning he’ll do whatever it takes to prove the mischievous and free-spirited boy can also be a dependable and trustworthy adult just as long as Wendy stands by his side, becoming the real life versions of the make-believe roles they played all those years ago.
At Maxwell’s Peter Pan’s core is the adventurous and protective leader of the Lost Boys and because he embodies many of the same characteristics as his younger counterpart, it’s so easy to visualize this self-assured adult - one who looks to bring a bit of magic not only in his life but in all those who look to him for guidance.
As a young girl, Wendy was the sensible and innocent one who was looking for a bit of adventure, and as an adult, she still remains virtuous and a bit of a people pleasure, but it’s clear that she’s still searching for that magic that she only had when she was with Peter, so as she makes strides to branch out on her own, to step outside the box she was living in due to her father’s exceptions as well as her upbringing, what will solidify her latest decisions to do what makes her feel the most alive is the assurance that Peter truly has grown up while also reminding her that life will still always be an adventure.
All of the nuances involved in integrating references to the childhood version of Peter Pan are cleverly implemented, merging the two worlds together in a way that doesn’t downplay Peter and Wendy’s adult relationship but further reinforces why it’s always been Peter for Wendy and vice versa despite the decade that they spent apart.
I appreciated how Maxwell framed Hook and Peter’s ‘friendship’ and how they have an understanding when it comes to one another, not only because Peter knows things that no one else does but also because they’re cut from the same cloth, so to speak. Peter’s perceptiveness is illustrated well, so it will be interesting to see what he does when it comes to Hook’s own story.
I absolutely adored Peter and Wendy’s story…but I have to admit…I’m DYING for Hook and John’s story because I know Maxwell is going to make them work for everything given Hook’s baggage and the ginormous chip on his shoulder, but I more than know that it will be worth it in the end.

Wow. I am speechless in the very best way! Gina Maxwell has created her own kind of magic with Pan. She masterfully takes a story we all know so well and brings it to the present. Adding a sexy touch combined with all the feels that has me over the top addicted to her words. Who knew Peter Pan and his Lost Boys could make me swoon? I am completely in love and am very thankful more is to come.
Pan is beyond clever. Maxwell is seamless in her combination of the world of Neverland and current life as we all know it. Peter and his 'family', including one very feisty Tink(erbell) own a garage and are stopped in their tracks as Wendy Darling comes back into their lives after many years apart. We get alternating POVs together with both past and present to understand how Pan and Wendy met, fell for one another and eventually separated as their lives went in different directions. But it's the love, the memories of how a group of orphaned misfits found some hope in a girl who didn't want for anything, that drive this story. In spite of all the time not together, I loved that Wendy held her own and fell into step with Peter and his men like she never left.
The way Maxwell took beloved characters from this timeless tale and made not only their names but their personalities current, is brilliant. From Hook to the despicable Croc to Michael and John, glimpses of the Peter Pan I know are there and you can't help but smile at the similarities and how Maxwell beautifully twisted the story to make it her own.
Time spent with Peter and Wendy is filled with an amazing chemistry as these two can't take their eyes off of each other and find themselves closer to being together for good this time. Their passion is off the charts hot and their sexual trysts had me fanning myself more than once. This is NOT your childhood Peter Pan. Hell no, this 2019 version is exceptionally sexy yet is amazingly full of an abundance of tenderness and delicate feelings as past memories are never far from anyone's mind.

The way Maxwell took beloved characters from this timeless tale and made not only their names but their personalities current, is brilliant. From Hook to the despicable Croc to Michael and John, glimpses of the Peter Pan I know are there and you can't help but smile at the similarities and how Maxwell beautifully twisted the story to make it her own.
Time spent with Peter and Wendy is filled with an amazing chemistry as these two can't take their eyes off of each other and find themselves closer to being together for good this time. Their passion is off the charts hot and their sexual trysts had me fanning myself more than once. This is NOT your childhood Peter Pan. Hell no, this 2019 version is exceptionally sexy yet is amazingly full of an abundance of tenderness and delicate feelings as past memories are never far from anyone's mind.
To say I adored this book in an understatement. It is fresh and different and truly enchanting. I applaud Gina Maxwell for creating a new Neverland that is as exciting and spellbinding as the one I remember from my youth. Extremely well-written and charming beyond belief, I give Pan a HUGE 5+++ stars!

Pan has one of the most adorable scenes in romance I've read in a very very long time. For that alone it is worth reading. But luckily for us all, everything else about it was adorable too. The utmost perfect adult contemporary version of Peter Pan!
Oh Pan... What an amazing character! From boyhood to manhood Peter Pan was an absolute delight.
We got to be part of his life growing up. We got to watch him go from an innocent young boy, clueless about the world outside the School for Lost Boys, into a very clever man that made a name for himself and his 'family'.
Wendy was great. A perfect mix of sass and sweetness. I just wanted to jump in the book and claim her as a bestie.
The chemistry between them was on point. Not too much, not too little. It grew from friendship and curiosity into more and when they paths crossed again after so many years apart it is obvious that connection between them has not diminished.
And than there are all the other characters... Hook, Tink, The Darling brothers... all of them have a story of their own, personality, heart, and I can't wait to read it.
Now... before I write the next sentence... I tried guys. I really did try to write a review for Gina's book without mentioning Ruthless. But I can't... I just can't do it. It's unfair, but I can't help it. Roman is my life 🤣
So... I loved Pan, I really did. But I am looking forward to the other stories more and I think I will like them more too. The reason I need to mention Ruthless is because some of the other stories will have sub-genres I don't usually read or like. Gina has a way of making me read things out of my comfort zone- Ruthless being the first. So, I don't read MM romance for example, not my thing. But goodness... I need to read Hook's story. I just have too. There is so much depth to his character already. Can't freaking wait.
