While the World Cup quarter-finals will take centre stage for many this weekend, the new Premiership Rugby season gets underway.

Some players have returned to their teams after their countries were knocked out in Japan but a number of stars are still away.

There were 78 players players from the Premiership to have been selected for 12 different nations at the start of the tournament and now 44 remain.

Gloucester have two players still away, but other sides have been affected more.

Saracens still have the biggest representation with 11 players still involved in the global showpiece and the absent players could make a big difference in the early weeks of the season.

Gloucester's opening day opponents Sale are without four players but Wasps, who they play the following week, only have one player still away, while they face Leicester, who are currently without six players, on the same day as the World Cup final.

Here is the list of the Premiership players still at the World Cup by club.
