Thousands gathered at College Green in Dublin to welcome US President Bill Clinton and the First Lady Hillary.

There was tight security in College Green for the visit of President Clinton. This did not put off the 80,000 who turned out to welcome the President and his wife Hillary.

The welcome for the President was warm and colourful.

After the formalities of speeches the Clintons spent time meeting and greeting members of the public who had come to welcome them to Ireland. President Clinton became a hero to one young boy who he saved from getting crushed by the crowd. The First Lady also proved to be very popular with the crowd with one man asking if she had "any sisters knocking around".
