Proctor, MN Demonstration Project Survey

The City of Proctor and partner agencies installed two short term, low cost, temporary projects at the intersections of 5th Avenue and 2nd Street and Highway 2 and 2nd Street. The project will pilot long-term design solutions to improve walking and bicycling.

The cost of these installations is significantly less than a potential long-term infrastructure project. Paint and flexible posts are meant as temporary materials. Long term design choices could include concrete curb extensions instead of the painted area. Project staff plan to remove the flexible plastic posts at the end of October or before first snow. The paint will remain throughout the winter and naturally fade away.
