Mozilla's 2012 London Festival officially announced

Alongside the launch of a new web site, Mozilla's Matt Thompson has provided more details about this year's upcoming Mozilla Festival, the non-profit organisation's annual "celebration of learning and innovation". Unlike most traditional conferences, Thompson describes Mozilla's Festival as a gathering that places emphasis on both hands-on activities and collaboration, as opposed to passively listening to presentations.

Open for anyone to attend, the event brings together individuals from all walks of life including developers, designers, journalists, educators, film makers and gamers, from more than 40 different countries. More than 800 people are expected to attend the 2012 event, which will take place from 9 to 11 November at Ravensbourne in London. Themes for this year's sessions include Coding for Kids, Hackable Games, and Skills and Badges, as well as Making the Web Physical, Web-native Cinema and Webmaking for Mobile. Registration for the event is now open and costs £40 for a regular ticket; youth tickets for those 18 years of age or younger are priced at £3 each.
