Release Juan Carlos Larrazabal
Release Juan Carlos Larrazabal
Why this petition matters
In 1989, Juan Carlos Larrazabal escaped Mexico's poverty to reunite with his wife in the United States. Together they worked very hard to provide for their 6 month old daughter that they had to leave behind in Mexico. In 2000, Juan's mother became very ill and at the fear of not being able to see or help her, Juan returned to Mexico. On his way back to the U.S. to reunite with his family, Juan was detained. He signed a voluntary departure & was deported. Juan is the main provider for his family; he returned to the U.S to reunite with his family soon after.
On September 12, 2013, Juan was pulled over by ICE just a block away from his house. He was then taken into custody and is currently being detained at the Otay Detention Facility.
Juan is the main supporter for his family of five. Juan has lived in the U.S. for 24 years. He has two U.S. Citizen children, ages 21 and 5, and one DACA recipient 26 years old daughter. All of his children depend on him for financial and emotional support. Juan is going through depression and has filed for withholding of removal. His wife is eligible to become a permanent resident and she is in the process of filing her application. Juan's U.S. citizen daughter is married to an active-duty Marine who is currently deployed. Juan Carlos has been providing for his daughter and their young U.S. citizen son since his son-in-law was deployed.
There is no reason for him to be detained. His family needs him to be released.
Please sign this petition so that the Larrazabal family can see their dad again!
