We are Requesting City Council to Immediately Renew/Extend the Contract between The Milpitas Community Theater and CSPA for Fall and Winter Session.

Although, The City Council has approved the Budget with our Youth Program, it has been suspended for unknown reasons. 

In our Last Show, Disney's Newsies,  we had 30 cast members and over 500 Attendees.

The Milpitas Youth Theater AKA Rainbow Theater has provided a place for our youth to grow and share their gifts. Some have even made a career from their experiences from Rainbow Theater AKA Milpitas Community Theater

Annually CSPA has provided a comprehensive performing arts program under the Direction of Mei-Wan Chai since 2009.  Through the years, this program has continued to grow and expand to offer a creative outlet to performers ages 5-young adults.

This amazing program has allowed local individuals to perform in Disneyland.  The Fundraising Program known as the "Disney Youth Performing Arts Tour" has invited our youth to be a part of this incredible opportunity. Our performers are also showcased annually in the Milpitas 4th of July Red White and Boom celebration.  For decades, our program also provides entertainment for the annual Milpitas Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Together CPSA and the City of Milpitas has given our youth a place to share their talents and a safe place for them to learn and grow. We bring our youth together with a common goal and teach them how to work together, have confidence and a sense of community.  These young performers provide an environment for our community to come together to laugh, sing, and even cry.

This program gives our youth a voice. It gives them a sense of community, a place for them to express themselves in a positive and creative way.

What's missing in our community is found in this program. This program is a valuable asset to our youth, residents, and society! There is NO need to suspend the program while they do their community outreach!.

The City of Milpitas Staff blindsided our community with notifying our community through email of their intent to Suspend the Milpitas Youth Theater Contract immediately and until further notice!

As we understand and embrace change, we want to ensure that the future of this program is secure. There is no benefit to suspending the program; there could be an extension of a 6 month period to CSPA contract while we, the community, collectively work hand-in-hand with the City staff and Council. 

In Fact, We are excited to work with City staff simultaneously to assist with fulfilling Community Outreach to Expand to a Robust Program
