Description
These revising strategies will help students get the most out of a part of the writing process that often gets the short end of the stick. Included are 16 different revising strategies, formatted as half-page cards, plus 3 accompanying revising posters, as well as student booklet accessory pages.
On each strategy card is the name of the strategy, followed by directions broken into three parts: What to Use, What to Do, and What to Ask Yourself, as well as an example of the strategy being done using a mock writer's notebook.
Use the strategies in multiple ways! Introduce them as whole group mini-lessons. Print and laminate a set or two of the strategy cards and put them on a ring or in a folder as a writing station. When students finish a rough draft, have them grab the cards and choose a strategy or two to help them revise. Or print and staple as a half-page booklet for each student to keep in a writing folder.
Color and blackline versions of the strategy cards are included, as well as three helpful posters, teacher notes, and the accessory pages to put together student booklets.
