Choice Unlimited and Leicestershire Centre for Integrated Living (LCIL) are holding a free event for disabled, older people and carers at
Active Rutland Hub, Oakham Enterprise Park, Ashwell, Oakham on
Wednesday October 19th 2016 from 1pm until 7pm with information and seminars. Rica has an exhibition stand - do come and have a chat. 
Free mobility event in Surrey
QEF Mobility Services, is holding a free mobility event for disabled adults with talks, demonstrations, 30 exhibitors and free assessments if you pre-book, at Carsh alton, Surrey on Friday October 7th 2016 from 10am until 4pm. Rica will be exhibiting there - come and have a chat.

A new report from Action on Hearing Loss called Managing Hearing Loss when seeking or in employment details how lipreading and related support can help the 3.7 million people with a hearing loss of working age (16-64) to stay in and find work. Find out more below.  
Concerned about the built environment?
Have your say in a House of Commons Select Committee inquiry into the 'built environment', which includes homes, public buildings and facilities , commercial premises, public streets, paths, parks and open spaces. Public transport is not included. The inquiry is considering questions such as:
  • Are the needs of all groups given adequate consideration in the design of streets, highways, parks and publicly accessible open spaces and in the provision of services such as public toilets?
  • Do shared space schemes in roads cause barriers for people?
  • What opportunities are there for delivering greater accessibility and inclusivity alongside more age-friendly towns and cities?

The closing date is for submissions is Wednesday 12 October 2016.
