Book 3 of The Redline Series

In a matter of moments, I went from Colt’s pawn to Devlin’s captive.

Doomed to be the casualty of their inane contest to best and break each other, I’m left imprisoned in darkness.

I fight for my life and sanity. Holding on to the small hope that a cocky and sadistic car thief can overcome his own demons long enough to free me.

Before it’s too late.

Lines have been crossed. Promises broken. Souls shattered. And the worst has only begun.

Warning!: If you’re looking for rainbows, butterflies, and happy endings coated in chocolate and caramel, turn back now! This story deals with dark themes and intense situations that aren’t suitable for sensitive readers. If you’re looking for an intense roller coaster of emotions and situations that will warp your sense of right and wrong and drag you through the debauched underworld of crime and deceit, then you’re in the right place.

This was the continuing story of Colt and Aubrey. Brake picks up right where Torque left off.
Devlin has Aubrey now and Colt has no clue how to find her. He's exhausted all of his ties with everyone and nobody has seen Devlin for almost a week. Exactly how long Aubrey has been in the hands of him.
While Aubrey is fighting to stay alive in the hands of Devlin his brother Colt is racing around the streets trying to find any clues where they might be. Colt is having a hard time. This is reminding him of a past that he never wanted to remember.
Devlin is pissed that Aubrey isn't playing his game like he wanted her to. If Aubrey can't get Colt to play the way he wants him to then he will just have to bring Aubrey down.
Will Colt catch a break and find Aubrey before Devlin sucks the life out of her?

I liked this one a lot but not as much as I loved the first two.
I'm actually tired of these kinds of series. They piss me off if you want me to be honest. I should of checked into this one more before I got sucked into the first two freebie books only to be waiting for the last two books to be released. Hopefully it won't take a year for them to come out. lol

Good story but I am still having a hard time connecting with them and maybe it's because the story has been broken up into small books throughout???

This isn't going to say verified purchase, but I assure you, it is. I purchased the box set that includes all the books in the series.
If you're reading this separate, this isn't a stand-alone. It's part of a serial series. You must read the previous books first.
This is told in multiple POVs
As my earlier reviews stated, there was no trigger warnings. That all changed, this book has a definite few. There is forced heavy drug use, kidnapping, and other vile things you'll have to read to find out.
This book picks up right after book two with the kidnapping. I had a feeling once Devlin got involved that warning would be needed. And it surely was..
Devlin has his sights set on torture and winning. He doesn't care who stands in his way, they'll go down too. Even if he takes his brother to the lowest pits of Hell to make that possible.
Aub's is fighting to stay alive. But is it really worth it?? To have to live in fear for herself, her family?? It maybe easier to just give into death. Will she keep fighting to stay alive for, Colt?
Will Colt even want her back after all Devlin has done her to physically, mentally, and emotionally. Especially after he has enough Colt's biggest demon back from beyond the grave (no it's not PNR, you'll have to read to understand).
On to book four. I can't stop. I need to know.
I'm so far into these characters lives, I have to hope they find peace so I can rest.
If your looking for short reads, that have lots of angst, thrill, and fast paced plot. These are a must.

This is the third part in a five part series.
May contain triggers for some. Read the warning.

OMG. I had just scratched the surface with the first two books. This one was darker, full of more suspense, and packed of hellava punch in the emotion department. My stomach is in knots right now. I never expected this turn of events, I was blindsided, body slammed. My heart hurts. I can say much about why, but there's one topic that pulls at my heartstrings more so than anything I can read about. It's a tough subject for me. But I can't look way.

No spoilers. My reviews are going to be vague, the series is coming to the end and I do not want to spoil. I'm absolutely loving this series, this one has got to be the heaviest for me. Nonetheless, I absolutely love this series this far, I can honestly say it's going on my favorites list. Skye Callahan has created a twisted world of sibling rivalry at its sickest. She made me gasp, that's practically unheard of. I'm literally read the first three books in less than 24hrs. There's no stopping me now, I couldn't if I tried. These books are addictive, forbidden, seductive, and wrong in all the right ways. I usually lose interest in series with more than two books, not the case here. I'm salivating for the next hit. This story is hitting all the nerves and I can't be wait to see what's happen next.

Bravo!

Spoiler Ahead This was book 3 in the " The Redline Series". This book was darker than the first two books. Aubrey is but a pawn in a fight between two warring brothers intent on destroying each other. Colt has sworn to protect Aubrey from Devlin in return for the unlimited use of her body for intense and kinky sex. In this book we learn some shocking revelations about Colt’s backstory which helps explain why he is the damaged man he is and why he strives to stay emotionally detached. Colt searches for Aubrey as he has no idea where Devlin has taken her. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is the third book in the Redline series. The game of cat and mouse continues as both brothers via for top spot while using Aubrey as a pawn in their game.

The mind games that are being played and the twists and turns and sheer sick minds has made this book more interesting in who'll come out on top? Will Aubrey survive mind body and soul?

Can and Colt over come Devlin and is Aubrey becoming more than a distraction, can he over come his past to fight his brother for a future for him and Aubrey?

This series has you gripped and left dying for more, I intend to read on to find out what will happen in the next instalment.

These novellas get even more addicting! My God… these are good. This one was much darker and full of suspense, I thought, but it didn’t make me love it any less, I definitely enjoyed it more. My heart was in my throat in the times where it didn’t hurt in my chest reading about these characters and getting to know their pasts even more. I think Colt and Aubrey are just perfect together and for each other, I loved the other side that Colt shows when it comes to her.

I still can not figure out where this story is going, but I guess that's a sign of a good author. Keeps you turning the pages while having characters that hold your attention. I'm not looking forward to Exhaust, I think Aubrey has a tough road ahead of her.

Good series. Not great. I liked it but it wasn't anything super standout in my opinion. Still worth checking out. It's entertaining :)

This one had more action than the previous and I enjoyed it more. Aubrey is missing and Colt is searching for her. Devlin has her and just as you would predict he is drugging her. Then he does something to her that he thinks will push Colt over the edge. I will say after reading the first book I went ahead and preordered all of the books for this series so I feel compelled to read on. If I had not already purchased the other books I am pretty sure that I would not. I am struggling to connect the characters in the story and I am not vested in them so it is making it hard to push through.

The Darkness Continues With Brake

Book 3 picks up Skye Callahan's Redline serial where Torque leaves off. This time dragging us deeper into Colt and Devlin's rivalry when Devlin breaks their agreement. Did we think he'd play fair? Pffft. Devlin is determined to bring Colt to his knees, and Aubrey is the red hot poker he's stabbing into Colt's open wound to do so.

This installment is the darkest yet, and I loved every bit of it. I knew Devlin had absolutely no conscience but...wow. This guy gives a new definition to evil. All I can say is I certainly hope he suffers a torturous end.

Colt is beside himself with guilt and anger when he discovers Devlin has taken Aubrey, disappearing into thin air. No gloating phone call, no threatening messages, no "do this or else". Colt would like nothing more than to sink into his old addiction and forget all the memories this ignites. However, Colt has figured out Devlin's intention and it's not pretty. If he doesn't get Aubrey out of Devlin's clutches asap, she will not survive his little game. Colt isn't sure why Devlin is bent on a repeat of a few years ago because Colt doesn't have feelings for Aubrey. Or does he?

As Colt frantically uses every resource he has, and they aren't many, to locate Aubrey, she is going through her own personal nightmare. She knows Devlin is a heartless bastard but she had no idea of the horrors he would inflict without so much as a blink of an eye. Aubrey doesn't hold much hope of escaping, however, she holds onto Colt's promise to take care of her. Even during the worst, she believes Colt will find her.

Ms. Callahan does a great job with Aubrey's character. I like this girl. I don't feel sorry for her. She got herself into a bad place when she walked into Devlin's club, and she's fully aware of that fact. Even now, she's in the worst imaginable situation, yet she refuses to give up. Devlin puts her through one horrifying act after another, keeping her alive only to put her through more. She fights him with everything she has and handles his torture and humiliation like a soldier.

For his part, Colt is this close to giving in to the sweet escape of the drugs Devlin waves in his face. But he knows if he does, Aubrey will be another victim of his brother's sick, twisted mind. He's pissed she's gotten herself into this situation. He's even more pissed that she has wormed her way into his heart and made him feel again. In the first two installments I really didn't like Colt. He's a cold man who uses women. Brake reveals why Colt lives his life this way, and I can sympathize completely. I'm holding out for a HEA for these two. Fingers crossed.
With two more books left in the serial, I can't even guess where Ms. Callahan will take us. All I can say is, I'm eagerly anticipating Devlin's demise.

Dark, Twisted and Intense

Skye Callahan’s The Redline Series is one hell of a dark romance! It is a dark and twisted ride ruled by lust, power-play and revenge, where Aubrey is but a pawn in a fight between two warring brothers intent on destroying each other. Colt has sworn to protect Aubrey from Devlin in return for the unlimited use of her body for his intense and kinky sexcapades. The last instalment, Torque finished on a major cliff hanger as the hapless Aubrey had been taken captive by none other than Devlin.

In Brake Aubrey's sexual slavery to Colt has been replaced by the horror of Devlin's captivity and her life and sanity are both on the line. Aubrey's predicament is an ugly one and let’s just say that Devlin does not have her long term future in mind…. Instead, she is merely a tool to use to attack his brother and I read with bated breath to see if her destiny was to become mere collateral damage.

This instalment contains some shocking revelations about Colt’s backstory, which help explain why he is the damaged man he is and why he strives to stay emotionally detached. For much of the read Colt is powerless as he has no idea where Aubrey has been taken. He is totured by guilt and trapped within the world of his dysfunctional family who seem intent on his destruction… His only relief is that of drugs which he finds harder and harder to resist.

He fears for Aubrey’s life and sanity in Devlin’s hands. I will not give anything away, but suffice to say that Devlin is one sick bastard. Although Colt is far from her avenging knight on a white charger, he is the only hope she has, but will he rescue her before it is too late? And what will he find remains of the Aubrey he knows? Expecting the worst, whilst hoping for the best, I was nevertheless gobsmacked by what transpires in this read and I want MORE! Indeed, I am jumping up and down in anticipation of the next instalment!

This high octane dark romantic suspense is recommended for lovers of dark romance. Please note, a copy of this book was given to me by the author for the purpose of a fair and honest review.

Wow! I know I often say when I start my reviews where do I start but, this one I really am not sure where to start. Maybe I should start with the WARNING: Well Skye Callahan calls it a “Note”

Note:
If you’re looking for rainbows, butterflies, and happy endings coated in chocolate and caramel, turn back now! This story deals with dark themes and intense situations that aren’t suitable for sensitive readers. If you’re looking for an intense roller coaster of emotions and situations that will warp your sense of right and wrong and drag you through the debauched underworld of crime and deceit, then you’re in the right place.
This is a work of serial fiction, so it will be released in distinct parts with no resolute ending until the end of the series.

Skye Callahan is correct and there is no happy ending in this book and she has said that since the beginning of the series. I would say that Brake is the darkest book so far in the Redline Series. There are to be 5 books so 2 more to go. And, Brake just came out yesterday. You must read these books in order. Ignition #1, Torque #2, now Brake #3 Exhaust #4 & Clutch #5. I hope we don’t have too long of a wait for Exhaust to come out. Because Brake ended on a HUGE Cliffie. Again, Skye did let us know that each book would not have a nice kind of ending.

Brake was seriously twisted and I would say probably needed to be for the storyline. Remember the “NOTE” if you are “an intense roller coaster of emotions and situations that will warp your sense of right and wrong and drag you through the debauched underworld of crime and deceit, then you’re in the right place”.

I have to say that I am really loving these books. And, Brake is the most intense one so far. So be prepared for it. I give Brake 5 VERY worth it STARS.

This book was not an ARC. I wanted to read it so I bought the book!

AHHHHHHHh left hanging again !!

So I am addicted to serials BUT normally I try to stay away until all books are out because I love to feel the suspense and thrill of a cliffy BUT also love to know I can end my questioning by having the next piece. With Brake being the new release I obviously have driven myself crazy and now have to wait to finish this !! I was intrigued from the start , I had read other work by this author so it really wasn't a hard choice. I love the dark and twisted , love the suspense and of course the taboo kinds of sex we have going on. This piece of the puzzle was the hardest to read , I was so worried for both Colt and Aubrey , things really could have been much worse and believe me they get bad enough. The story starts where Torgue left off and things are crazy. Devlin seems to have the upper hand and if Colt doesn't get a hold of himself and find some answers he may be suffering another loss or setback. Although there are still some questions to be answered you do find out a bit more about these brothers and their reasons for being at war with each other. As if they haven't fought this battle with Devlin long enough it seems we are left wondering just how Aubrey will survive her new struggles and if Colt can handle helping her through it. Will they catch a break ??

WOW! This series has me on edge. Two feuding brothers, only one can come out on top. One brother will do anything possible to brake the other and unfortunately Aubrey is his pawn.

Colt is further turning into a dark knight. That's the best way I can explain him. He struggles against his addiction in order to keep his promise to the woman who controls his heart. His brother, Devlin will do anything to drive him over the edge. Devlin is beyond reparation. He's evil incarnate and what he does is twisted and haunting.

I could not put this book down! It's dark, sinister and uncompromising. Exhaust is the final book in the series and it's heading towards explosive ending!

This is dark.

Colt is worried about Aubrey. She was taken by his brother and do hi ng only God knows what to her. His last words to her were "Stay alive ". He needed to find here.

Aubrey was at the hanfs of a man that was twisted and wanted to punish Colt. She kept thinking of what he told her. It was all she could do.

When Colt's brother thought he was done using Aubrey he left his mark on her as a reminder to Colt but would Colt find Aubrey before she ended up like someone from is past. What is happening between Colt and Aubrey?

Following on from where Torque left off, things are going from bad to worse. Devlin is determined to destroy Colt and knowing he's not falling for his plan makes him reassess what's important to Colt....Aubrey. Aubrey has always been stuck between a rock and a hard place but with Devlin kicking things up a notch, will Colt be able to get to her in time? Darker than the previous books, i loved to hate Devlin in this book. Can't wait for more from this series

Devlin's level of evil is much deeper and darker than I ever anticipated!

Brake is the darkest book thus far for the Redline series. More questions are answered and more pieces of the puzzle fall into place. But one question still remains...How far will Devlin go to break Colt?

Amazing book!! My favorite so far in the series!!

Omg! I love this series!! Had been waiting patiently on this book and it did not disappoint. It is a really dark series so might not be for everyone but it is extremely well written and the characters are believable. This book was sooo good! I felt so bad for Aubrey I couldn't believe what Devlin was doing to her. And then when we find out why Devlin is doing this to Colt I was surprised at how far Devlin will go. This is a crazy book and I want to know how things are going to end I can't stop reading.

I loved this book couldn't put it down. Aubrey woke up on a cold floor in total darkness and very thirsty. Devlin had her in that room with no water or food, but the only way that she would get water if she let them drug her. Colt look every where he could think of and ask people he knew for help but nobody knew anything. After a while Two guys he had never seen gave him information of Devlins whereabouts. After finding her he took her to a safe place to help her heal from the injuries and the withdrawal of the drug.
