Welcome to Summer Snapshot #8 Just one more week of Snapshots before we wrap up our amazing summer. Remember to mark your calendar for the Re-Entry/De-Brief Event (Aug. 21; 7-10p). Before the meeting, please fill out this quick survey--as always, we will have delegation time but will also "look forward" to the rest of the year. Enjoy our next-to-last Snapshot! Interchange Updates We welcomed our new friends from Austria this week for the hosting part of Interchange!
The group has plenty of fun activities planned for the hosting phase. This week the group has experienced Alligator Farm and Ichetucknee. They will participate in this week's Art Walk, along with a Sweet Pete's Tour and Food Truck Dinner.
Our Norway Interchange is now complete, as this past week our delegation arrived home. What a great experience our delegates had while visiting their new friends. "Velkommen hjem!" (that's "welcome home" in Norwegian). Junior Counselor Returns from Italy This week we welcomed home Jacob, our Junior Counselor (JC) from "That's Amore" Villiage in Bologna, Italy! Since we are Florida's only chapter, he was the only representative selected from the state for this honor.

"Being a JC was one of the most challenging, but rewarding, things I've ever done," he said. "Though I participated in Village as an 11-year-old, this was more of a leadership role that really challenged my perspective and helped me learn more about how to be a leader." Other participating countries at "That's Amore" Village included Belgium, Denmark, Canada, Italy, Brazil, Germany, Norway, Iceland, Czech Republic, USA, Mexico and Costa Rica. JCs came from France, Italy, Brazil and New Zealand.
CISV Global Conference in Norway  Stephanie makes a new friend in Oslo. Three board members are currently attending the CISV Global Conference in Oslo, Norway: Lynn Buff, Elizabeth Mosimann and Stephanie Welchans. The conference inspires Chapter volunteers and promotes sharing of new ideas and best practices. It is also a forum for communicating where CISV is going and getting feedback on the direction. Delegates and leaders reunite and share their experiences. Parents will provide feedback and participate in planning for the next year of Chapter activities. Please fill out the survey in advance and RSVP to Lisa Taylor. * Also remember, it's time to sign up for Southern Regional Mini-Camp (SRMC) over Labor Day weekend (Sept. 4-7) in Hampton, GA. Sign up by Aug. 14.
