SULLIVAN — Michael Earl "Papaw" Schenbeck, 63, of Sullivan, passed away at 1:39 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at his residence. The 1965 graduate of Whitehall Yearling  High School was born April 2, 1947, in Vincennes, to Richard and Mary (Folks) Schenbeck.

He was a Realtor for the L.J. Michaels Company of Terre Haute. Mike attended the Kingsley Memorial United Methodist Church and was a member and past exalted ruler of the Sullivan Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. He was deeply loved by his entire family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one granddaughter, Kasandra Danielle Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Vicki Rickard Schenbeck, whom he married April 28, 1967; three loving daughters, Rebecca Bedwell and Marybeth (John) Powell, all of Sullivan, and Jennifer (Chuck) Thompson of Cincinnati; one sister, Susie (Tim) Murphy of California.; two brothers, Glen (Karen) Crawford of Virginia, and Rick (Sharon) Schenbeck of Ohio; eight grandchildren, Michael (Caitlin) Bedwell, Elizabeth Bedwell, Victoria Scaggs, Joshua Scaggs, Jerika Powell, Erik Powell, Justin Powell and Robert Smith; one great-grandchild, Lillyann Bedwell; and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Paul Myers officiating. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with an Elks memorial service at 7 p.m.
