I’m no one’s savior.

I work with the Cerberus MC for the thrills, not for the glory.

Saving people who’ve been trafficked is just a side benefit, coming in second to the adrenaline rush of eradicating some of the evil in the world.

Mia Vazquez didn’t seem to get the memo.

When I pulled her out of Hell, she wouldn’t let go. She literally wrapped her arms around my neck and refused to release me.

I did the only thing I could do; I held her back.

For weeks I stayed by her side, comforting her and assuring her things would eventually get better.

She managed to climb inside of me, and then she took off.

Mia Vazquez didn’t get the memo.

She’s mine, and letting go of me doesn’t mean I’ll let go of her.

I think I started falling for Scooter in the last book. Even the little we got of him was enough to know he was going to be another amazing leading man created by Marie James. And once again she did not disappoint.

I absolutely loved this story. I loved how it took an extremely sensitive subject and made a beautiful experience from it. I loved that these two main characters really had a transformation from start to finish due to the way they met. While they had an attraction early on, this story wasn't based on that. This story didn't needed to be heavy on the steam to still be amazing.

In all honesty, everything about this book just had me even more impressed by Marie James as an author.

This is definitely a must read.

(5 stars)

In the previous book, Tug, we met Mia when she was rescued (so much more to it than that but this is a series and you really should read them all in order). Scooter just happened to be the one that Mia attached herself too, the first person that she felt safe with. Now they are in New Mexico, and Mia is trying to get better but after what she had been through, it will take time and lots of patience. Thankfully Ryan/Scooter seems to have the patience of Job, never rushing or pushing, lets Mia go at her own pace. But what happens when Mia starts to think that maybe he is only like this with her because she forced his hand? Is it true? Is Ryan only doing this because he feels he has too? Or is there more to what he feels? Can Mia ever truly get over what was done to her?

So this was super amazing! I wasn't sure how this would go given what had happened, but Marie James pulled this off perfectly! Drama, danger, violence, a bit lower than her normal naughty bits (but totally expected that); I give this 5 stars.

Scooter is the 137th book I've read this year. So many great books by wonderful authors, but they all don't effect me like Scooter has. Truth be told, I fell in love with Scooter when he was introduced at the end of Tug (Cerberus MC #10). With every page I turned, I felt more and more with family. And it's so enjoyable to reconnect with characters from previous Cerberus MC stories.
The Cerberus MC men are all honorable and respectful, but Ryan (aka Scooter) could be the poster boy for Cerberus MC. Ryan not only had respect for the women in the Miami compound, but when he saw Mia Vasquez in the hospital bed, intuition took over without regard to himself or the others in the room. Ryan's character hit me on a personal level. He's not what I'd call "book boyfriend", but a "man" that I'd want to meet. I've absolutely loved the entire series and I can say that Scooter now sits in the top 3 with Kincaid and Dominic. I'm not beyond begging Author Marie James for an additional book of Ryan & Mia!

Title: Scooter
Author: Marie James
Genre: Contemporary MC Romance
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
I really liked this book. Marie James pushes the boundaries as she discusses taboo societal issues. In this book our heroine is Mia who was rescued from the flesh trade by Cerberus MC. Yes there is sexual tension but that really isn't what this book is about. It is about Mia finding herself again and finding the safety she needs to start living again. BUT...

Is it just me or does her relationship with Scooter feel a little like Stockholm Syndrome? He was her savior and so she felt safe with him. I understand all of this but she is falling for an idea not the real him. He tells her inane stories of his life. Nothing bad, nothing overly emotional. He makes sure she is well cared for and the brothers don't do anything to upset her. None of that is the root of him. Plus we hardly get to see the true him. The true Ryan/Scooter. Where he came from, what makes him who he is? Why does he prefer his room to parties? We get all the nitty gritty on Mia but we need it also on Scooter. Why does he feel he can't walk away from Mia?

Anyway, I give this 4 out of 5 stars. I really recommend reading this book and series. I have loved Cerberus since the start. Marie James is a wordsmith and knows how to pull your heartstrings.

:::SIGH::: Scooter is the one. Every time I read another Cerberus story, the hero just enthralls me and Scooter is no different. These guys are tough, mostly hard ass Marines. They need to be because of the work they do. They can't be soft and take out the vile people they need to take out around the world. The minute Scooter rescued Mia (in Tug's book), he became her protector...at least in her eyes. There was no one else she could put her trust in...not even her brother. But what happens when you let your head leave the game for even just a split second? There is so much healing that needs to be done and what Mia went through may never be overcome. Can Scooter deal with the fall out? And oh my I can't wait to find out more about this wonderful new member of Cerberus.

I cannot get enough of the Cerberus MC series! Each book is better than the previous and I need more. Scooter and Mia's story will break your heart and piece it back together in such a way that this story will stay with you for a very long time.
It's no secret I'm a huge fan of Marie James' words. She has an incredible way of weaving amazing characters with real and raw topics and the outcome is just pure magic. I can't recommend this series enough!!

Another fantastic story from the Cerberus MC world!! I was all on board for this book after the dramatic ending in Tug and this story didn’t disappoint! Ryan/Scooter rescues Mia from a sex trafficking ring and she latches onto him as her savior. He believes he is unworthy of her hero worship, but he is still so patient and kind helping Mia work through her lingering effects caused by her abduction. Great story bring on the book 12!!

This is the 11th book in this phenomenal series and is Scooter and Mia’s story. When the Cerberus team are on a mission, Scooter finds Mia who was abducted 7 weeks previously, he becomes her saviour and the only person who can calm her. This is a well written flawless story which is emotional, heart-breaking, raw, gritty, thrilling, and with PTSD, healing and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend this gifted authors’ work for all.

Mia has been abducted and living a tortured life. Until she is saved saved by Ryan "Scooter". He loves what he does. Save innocent lives and getting ready of the bad guys of the world. But can Mia be saved from herself and start living life again? Can Ryan help her out of the h*ll she had been in?

Check out this book and the rest of the Cerberus guys.

After a dramatic end to Tug (Cerberus #10), I was so excited for Scooter!!! This book definitely lived up to my expectations and then some! Ryan/Scooter is patient and so sweet while helping Mia work through the trauma of her abduction. He is everything you’d want in a book boyfriend: sexy, sweet, caring, and protective. The Cerberus boys are on their quest to end sex trafficking and Scooter has his own vengeance to find. Mia and Scooter’s story is one of strength and love overcoming a traumatic history.

You’ll love it as much as I did, I have no doubt!!!

I couldn’t get enough of reading Scooter! Ryan and Mia made for a heartbreakingly beautiful duo. Both of them had been left broken by a traumatic experiences but leaned on each other for strength to overcome them and heal in the process. Marie James is an outstanding writer and keeps upping her game with this latest Cerberus MC book in the series! Looking forward to seeing what’s next!

I can never put this author's books down... I'm fairly certain I'm addicted. Scooter was without a doubt, one of the most heartfelt stories she has written yet. It really made me think and made me feel. I feel like this book is one that almost everyone would enjoy and it covers a pretty important and relevant topic, on top of making the characters relatable, it was just an amazing story.

Another great read by Marie James.
Where can we actually meet men that are portrayed in Marie's book?
Anyway, Scooter as you know is part of the Cerberus MC and they are a group you won't want to mess with.
As they go to Miami to rescue women who were abducted for human trafficking.
This one is close to the MC because one of the women abducted is Max's twin sister Mia.
Mia was abducted while going to shop at the mall.
She has been in in their compound for 7 weeks and has been thru hell and back.
As the Cerberus MC converge on the compound, they take out every bad guy there but unfortunately the main subjects were not there and they are believed to have returned to Venezuela.
As they go into the basement, they find the women and Scooter (Ryan) finds Mia. She is afraid of him, thinking he is part of the abduction crew and there to take her elsewhere. Once she realizes that Scooter is there to rescue her, she clings to him. He is her savior and won't let go.
They get to the hospital and the doctors take her to evaluate her. Once she is back in the room, Scooter goes to see how she is doing and hears her screaming. He runs into the room, goes over to her and she calms down after he talks to her quietly. Scooter looks around and sees Max sitting there (Mia has presumed he was dead for the last 10 years).
Scooter stays with Mia the entire time she is in the hospital. Her fiance Jason doesn't even come back to visit after the 1st day (he is worthless)
Mia is discharged from the hospital but doesn't want to stay in Miami (where she lives) or back home to Louisiana. So, Ryan decides to take her back to the Cerberus compound in New Mexico.
Slowly Mia begins to heal from the outside in. Ryan does everything and anything to help her. He even moves her into his room and she stays there as long as needed.
A phone call that Scooter takes is misunderstood by Mia. She believes that she is keeping him from his girlfriend and decides to make a run for it. That goes wrong and when he finds her, she is freezing and has frostbite.
Since the head of the Human Trafficking has fled so Cerberus is going to hunt them down. Max is staying at the compound with Mia and the other women. Now, Mia still hasn't talked to Max and the time the other guys are gone is going to be difficult.
Ryan and Mia keep in touch as much as they can while he is out of the country. It takes time but they eventually get the guys at both compounds but not w/o a problem with the way Scooter handled the capture and killing of the main guy involved (and the woman with him). Scooter went and tortured the guy instead of killing him immediately, lost focus and didn't see him pull a weapon on him. Jinx ended up having to kill the guy.
The MC guys get back to the Cerberus compound and Kincaid calls Scooter into the conference room. All the officers are there and Kincaid asks what happened. Scooter ends up suspended for 1 month, going to be investigated by the CIA and has to go thru a psych evaluation to see if he is fit to return to duty.
Scooter is very distant to everyone including Mia. She thinks that Scooter doesn't want her around but that isn't it.
Mia leaves and returns to her parents home in Louisiana then after a while she go to Miami to talk to Jason only to find another woman living in their apartment. Jason runs home from work only to find that Mia has already met the "other" woman. They have already packed up all of her things and stored them in the extra bedroom.
Mia gets her clothes down her her parents vehicle.
After a couple months, Mia jumps on a plane for New Mexico. She arrives at the compound and Scooter meets her at the door.
Needless to say, they have a good heart to heart talk and say the words that should have been said before "I Love You"
If you have read any of the other Cerberus books, you will definitely devour this one as well.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Scooter is the eleventh book in Cerberus MC Series. I couldn't wait to read Scooter, I knew the pretext of what this story was about, and who the characters were from reading the ending of Tug.
With saying that you would have no problem reading Scooter, as a standalone. I swear each novel that Marie James writes, it always seems so much better than her last one. I have fallen in love with many of her characters, and Ryan/Scooter and Mia are no different. He's was so kind and patient with Mia after her ordeal. I like how we get glimpses of past characters in each story. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

***series and book links at the end of review***

When Ryan aka Scooter saves Mia he never expected his life to be turned upside down. He’s no one’s hero. He just does his job and does it well. Sure his main focus is saving the lives of those who have been stolen away from their families and that’s a huge rush but he’s not looking for glory he craves the pulse adrenaline he gets by ridding the world of evil...until Mia.

When Mia’s life turns into a living, breathing nightmare after being kidnapped she doesn’t think she’ll ever be free again. Even when he walks through the door of hell in a halo of light does she feel free but she holds onto the safety he represents...her savior.

The road to Mia’s recovery isn’t an easy one. It’s filled with potholes, switchbacks and steep cliffs but with Scooter taking the wheel and guiding her on her journey, she feels she can make it. But with one phone call, she realizes she needs to go and be the driver in her own recovery and that she’s keeping him from his life by letting him take the lead. He may be at the center of her recovery but he’s also the center of her heart and how could a man like him want a broken woman like her...she needs to put herself back together not only for herself but to be the woman he could love.

When Mia disappears Scooter can’t breathe. He’s been by her side since the day he picked her up and walked her out to freedom and he’s never not once wanted her to leave his side. She’s safe there and he knows she feels it, so why would she leave him? Doesn’t she realize he needs her just as much as she needs him? She thinks she’s a burden on him but that’s so far from the truth. He may be the center of her stability but she’s the center of his heart...he’s going to find her and make her see exactly what she means to him.

I absolutely love this series! And this book did not disappoint! It has all the emotions, heartbreak and healing, hope and understanding, patience and love. The emotions are wrenching and the coming together of these two souls is a beautiful heart wrenching journey. Thank you Marie James for another amazing book! Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Not gonna lie, this is of my fave series! I may be slightly biased but god i love it!

We're back in the MC and i love it!

We met Mia in the last book she's Max's sister and we last saw her being rescued from people traffickers, pulled out by Scooter. She's broken. She finds a small amount of peace and safety with Scooter. But the longer they spend together the more she becomes dependent on him. After a while her feelings for him become overwhelming. She knows Scooter has his own life and she knows she has to let him go but after her ordeal she struggles.

Scooter has rescued lots of women over the years. He loves the adrenaline of the rescue. He never gets emotionally involved, until Mia. He knows after her ordeal nothing romantic can happen but the longer he spends with her the harder it is to let her go.

Inner struggles happen for both of them. It's a rocky road but can they get their smooth ride?

God i loved these two. Watching the inner struggles of both of them broke my heart. But as the story builds you heart will beat out of your chest!

Scooter is everything you want him to be. Kind and considerate. Loving and patient. He's stomped his way into my heart and filled it full! Such a strong honorable man and he's just irresistible.

Mia... poor sweet Mia. What happened to her was sometimes hard to read but jeeze was she strong. From the outside she appeared broken completely. But reading her inner thoughts you feel pride for her because really she's so strong! I loved the storyline because it gave her that strength. Yes sometimes she needed Scooter to fall back on but it's her that fixes herself and i absolutely loved that! Some heroines are bad-ass who will kick anyone's ass but a strong heroine doesn't always need to be that. Mia certainly wasn't but she showed a different strength that you will relate to and love. She's an absolute star and i loved her.

The plot, the story, the character building was all bang on the money here! Loved it from start to finish and this series goes from strength to strength. It's so diverse there's something for everyone.

Highly recommend! Submerge yourself in the Cerberus MC you won't regret it!

I have read every single book in this series. They just keep getting better and better. This is book eleven in the Cerberus MC series. We met Mia when she was rescued in the last book, Tug. I also want to say there are some graphic scenes and possible triggers.

I was drawn in from the moment I read about the mission. It is not for the faint of heart and so many demons to get past. The club goes in to infiltrate a trafficking ring and the goal os to find Mia.

Mia is broken. She has been gone for seven weeks and when she is rescued nothing is the dame. She loves her family but just doesn’t feel safe. Not anymore. Not even with her fiance. Sher is strong and she is trying to live. The only thing that helps her cope is Ryan (Scooter).

Scooter is the one that rescues Mia. He is the only one that makes her feel safe. She is a hot mess. I don’t even blame her. She has been beaten and battered and she is bruised. All he sees is this string and beautiful woman. He never wanted attachments, though he finds himself attached to Mia. He thinks about her constantly. He is a good guy and will do what he needs to help Mia.

Mia is now in the hospital and she is being released and her family is there including her brother that she thought was dead. Her fiance is as well. When it is time to leave she can’t bring herself to want to go back home. Her parents don’t know how to help her. Her mom cries and her dad is just, well dad.

I loved reading the growth of Mia and Scooter. I liked hearing the stories he told her to try and just help her. She is envious of the woman in the MC and still skittish around the male members. She realizes all the women have a story and it isn’t all roses. They actually help her when Scooter has to leave on another mission for the same people that took Mia in the first place. Now, while Mia is healing Scooter cant focus on the mission at hand. Things don’t go well for Scooter. The President doesn’t like it and even though he understands there are consequences for his actions. I liked being able to read more about the other members. The girls are great and the characters are all likable.

Overall I loved this book and series as a whole. I look forward to more.

The Heart You Took!!!

Ryan "Scooter" Gabhart worked with the Ceberus MC for the adrenaline of stopping the evildoers in the world not the popularity. Saving those who couldn't save themselves was a side benefit. When he and his fellow club members saved a bunch of women from the he!! they were in, one wouldn't let him go....Mia Vazquez.

She got under his skin as he watched over her, making sure she got back up on her feet. And just when he was getting used of her presence, she decided to take off. What she didn't know was that she was his and that he would find her, come what may.

Max's ( TUG ) twin sister, Mia Vazquez went threw hell and back, she didn't let any of her loved ones close to her after her ordeal. The only man who was able to touch and comfort her was her rescuer, Scooter. The latter was a Ceberus member, he was the one that kept her sane.

She knew she had to become independent again but right now she used him as a crutch. He was very patient with her, he never made a move on her, no matter how much he cared about her. He let it up to her whenever she was ready.

Mia was the epitome of strength, to see how far she'd come after the hideous tings that were done to her. I loved that she was able to reconnect with her brother, Max. He now had a permanent job within the club. The growing relationship between her and Scooter was well done. I really wished there was more men like him in the real world ;).

It was a treat to get a mention of the RAVENS RUIN gang. Wow Rivet, a new addition is just what the Ceberus MC needs. So happy that Mia and Scooter finaly got their HEA. Looking forward to what comes next in the series.

SCOOTER is the eleventh book in Marie James' CEBERUS MC series. What an emotional, passionate and extraordinary ride. Marie James did a phenomenal job. Two thumbs up and a recommendation for you guys to grab yourselves a copy!
