Value Of your Life- a Short motivational story with moral

One day, a young boy asked his father, “What is the value of my life?”

Instead of answering father told his son on to take rock and go sell it in a market if someone asks the price don’t say anything and raise two fingers.

The boy then went to the market and a man asked him “How much is this rock? I want to put it in my garden”. Boy didn’t say anything and raised his two fingers.

The man then said “20 Dollars? I will take it!”

The boy ran to his father & said man want this rock in 20 Dollars! The father then said “Son! I want you to take this rock outside the museum if anybody asks the price don’t say a word and raise two fingers. The boy did as his father said & women wanted to buy the rock, the boy didn’t say anything and raised his two fingers. The women said “2000 Dollars, I’ll take it! The boy was shocked and went running home, “Father a woman wants to buy this rock for 2000 dollars”. 

His father calmly said, ”Son! The last place I want you to take this rock is to a precious stone store, Show it to the owner and don’t say a word, if he asks for the price..Just put up two fingers.

The son goes to a precious stone store, showed the stone to the store owner. The owner said”Where did you find this stone? it’s one of the rarest stone in the world, I must have it !”. “How much would you sell it for?” He asks. The boy raised two fingers; the owner says “Okay, I’ll take this for 200,000 Dollars”. The boy not knowing what to say ran to his father & tells his father that the owner will buy this rock for 200,000 dollars. 

Then his father calmly said, “Do you know the value of your life now?”

“You see, it doesn’t matter where you came from? , where you were born? the color of your skin or how much money you’re born into.

It matters where you place yourself, the people you’re surrounded with & how you choose to carry yourself. 

You may have lived your life thinking that you are the two or twenty dollar stone, surrounded by the people that saw your worth only for two dollars but everybody has a diamond inside of them and we can choose to surround ourselves with the people that see a diamond inside of us.

We can either choose to be in the market or to be in a precise stone store! So choose the people you surround yourself with wisely.
