This isn't love. It's obsession.

NOX
She escaped me once, but she won't be that lucky this time.
My little bird looks even prettier with the scar I carved into her cheek.
I watch her... I follow her... I wait for the right moment to take what's mine.
I ruined her life once, and now it's time to clip her wings and cage her.

DOVE
Eight years ago, a sicko ruined my life.
He cut me open and made me bleed, and I hid the truth to protect him.
Now, a scar marks me as damaged goods.
That's why I stay in the shadows. I trust them.
Until they start talking back...
And the man who took my innocence comes back to stalk me.

Tyrant Stalker is a full-length dark romance novel from USA Today and Amazon bestselling author Isabella Starling.
Dove and Nox's story begins in Tyrant Twin, but you can read this book as a standalone.

Hello Darkness, my old friend

Dove and Nox's story starts In Tyrant Twins but can be read as a standalone. I do recommend reading Tyrant Twins first to have a better experience of this book. The books are dark romance with several triggers. It's not for the faint of heart. Also, go in with an open mind.

I am going to be all over the place with this review and apologize ahead of time. I didn't expect this book to affect me as it did, and I thought I was ready; I wasn’t. Like at all. It was well worth the wait. On my dark scale, it’s dark medium gray.

I love and embrace crazy; cue the crazy train. Nox is still the crazy, stalker twin we have known, obsessed over, and hate to love. After what happened in Hawaii, he has changed and now sees things more clearly with a new obsession, Dove. He stalks her in the shadows and has a plan to get her back. But Dove is not the same girl from eight years ago.

My sweet Dove is still running from her past called Nox with a side of her POS mother. Trying to escape, she now lives in Los Angeles; her brother Robin is her only family and befriends a homeless man as her only friend and father figure, She clearly needs help, and past support hasn't worked. Her support system is far and few in between. Let me tell you. It’s heartbreaking. My eyes are getting watery just writing that. She needs so much more than what was given to her. I wanted to hug her and have a serious talk with her brother about tough love. He did try his hardest.

As with any unhinged stalker, the story is unpredictable. Isabella Starling writes outside the box, and I love and appreciate that. I wonder why the author cried during some parts of the book. Now I understand. She wrecked me. It’s raw, emotional and she ripped my heart wide open. I didn’t think I was going to fall in love with Nox. Yet I did. He is more of a redeemable character than I thought he would be. Some may think Dove is meek and has Stockholm syndrome. To some extent, you're correct. But she has something much more, the power to forgive. I am envious of that. I can't wait for the paperback to add to my shelf and add this to one of my favorites from the author.
If you're looking for a dark, psychological thriller that is action-packed with a ton of steam. Tyrant Stalker is for you.

Considering I was extremely preoccupied while reading this book, and I also took a very long time to read it because of real life issues… I really enjoyed this book! I was shocked that the author was able to get me to change my negative opinion of Nox; and she even had me rooting for him as well! I love when an author can take an anti-hero and bring out his humanity!

The next instalment is going to be an interesting one, and I can’t wait to dive in! I will say, this series isn’t for everyone. It’s very dark and disturbing, and not all readers will get enjoyment out of it!!! You’ve been warned!!!❤️

Genre: Dark Romance
Type: Book 2 of Tyrant Dynasty series
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

For eight years, Dove Canterbury lived her life in the shadows. An event that irrevocably changed her life scarred her more than just physically. And when Nox came back, the barely healed wound threatened to fester into something that could save her or destroy her completely.

After the previous book, I was looking forward to seeing where the author would take this story. Nox was an unapologetic villain but I loved how he showed his humanity and how he connected to two of the new characters. However, I had issues with how he flipped his personality so suddenly. And it was an extreme flip too which made it looked overcompensating. Moreover, another two characters were also subjected to the same fate without justification.

"Please stop," I whisper weakly, even though we both know it won't do any good. I can't resist this man. I never fucking could.

Other than the mentioned issues, I loved the shared darkness in the main characters. The sex was hot, complete with some cringe-worthy entertaining scenes.

Tyrant Stalker is a story of obsession and reparation. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a redeemable dark hero.

I knew this was going to be a dark read going in. I have a thing for stalker books, but I never had a book piss me off so much just for how stupid these characters are. H kills h's brother and this dumb b couldn't put two and two together that her brother goes missing right when the H came back into her life again? Not too mention, if one of my siblings went missing, I would search from heaven to hell to try to find them and never stop. She pretty much forgets about her bro when H comes back because you know...sex. And when she finds out that H killed him, I mean she gets mad and whatever, but I would have legit shot him in the balls. Psycho H deserved to be buried, but you know...betraying body alert=sex. I stopped reading when his obsession turned to a little girl...ugh I got sick pedophile vibes. I know that's not what the author intended, but that's my perception of it and that's why I stopped reading, ICK!

FOUR STARS for Dove and Nox 💜🖤💜🖤!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟

It’s been a while since I read the first book "Tyrant Twins" from the "Tyrant Dynasty" series so it took me some time to remember the characters and plot while reading this book.

I've enjoyed reading this book and I have to admit I was surprised by Isabella’s very interestingly crafted plot and complex characters.

"Tyrant Stalker" is an extremely dark romance that will leave true fans of this trope attached to the book until the very end and intrigue the mind-blowing plot.

If you're looking for a dark romance book and you also love Isabella's writing style, then this is the book for you!

For the past six years, Parker Miller, a.k.a. Nox, has been obsessing over his little bird, Dove Canterbury. After being patient, it’s time he shows Dove just how much she belongs to him, but Dove has scars that Nox may not be able to heal.

“I can’t let myself have mercy, because it would mean I care, and I don’t care about anyone.”

Told in dual POV, Nox and Dove are two broken individuals, yet together they somehow fuel what each other needs. Given their chemistry, they are incendiary and without boundaries, which leads to some very dirty scenes. With Nox, there are complications that can crush the volatile bond he shares with Dove.

In this book, I was hoping Nox would continue to be a dark and damaged soul but his path had limited options once he made a certain decision. For me, the plot felt redundant at times while also having sudden twists. That said, I was relieved that Dove accepted her flaws and found a purpose. Also, certain secondary characters added to the heart of the story.

Tyrant Stalker is a dark romance about second chances. This book would appeal to those seeking a romance with thriller elements.

I'm going to keep this review short because I'm feeling lazy today. I didn't read the first book in this series which made it hard to understand the backstory of Nox (Parker) and Dove. Dove was obsessed with Parker and then a horrible thing happened - Parker ends up hurt and presumed dead and Dove ends up with a horrific facial scar from him. Later when Parker wakes from a coma he becomes Nox and stalks his new obsession...Dove. Nox is a straight up psychopath and Dove is so damaged. This was a really dark book and I think I would have liked it more if:

1. Both of these characters didn't give me constant whiplash
2. This wasn't stretched over years and separation
3. This didn't have such heavy material on every page
4. Nox didn't kill Dove's fricking brother
5. Sam didn't die
6. There wasn't a weird love/not love triangle happening

I loved Nox's obsessive and possessive tendencies and Dove was an OK character but the culmination of everything that happened in here was such a train wreck...I don't know...it just wasn't my jam. However, the writing itself was really good. If you are a super dark romance reader, you definitely might like this!

Tyrant Stalker is the second best story I have ever read by Isabella since Pet. Isabella takes these characters onto a journey that some will not like but all I can say to that is get over it. Tyrant Stalker is a story everyone should read. It has meanness, sadness, psychiatric issues, and eventually redemption down the line.

As you read this story you will swear up and down that Nox is and will never be redeemable. There is nothing likable about him and Nox actually seems to relish the thought of being obsessed with Dove. At this point, he knows he can't fight his obsession and he refuses to get help so he decides to take it on.

Dove has no idea Nox is back in her life. And is none too happy when she finds out he is stalking her? But like many of Isabella's stories, there is a fine line between love and hate and Dove is the epiphany of that thought. She wants to hate everything about Nox us and stands for but deep down loves him.

These two are such complicated characters that you will not be able to put this book down to the very end. Everything you think can happen with a couple like this will and exceed your expectations. And the end will be the best part.

Not at all the story I was expecting- but at this point I should expect that from Isabella. She somehow always keeps me on her toes- her stories always erotic, twisted, unpredictable, and jaw dropping.

While this can be read as a standalone- this story is best read as a companion to the prior book which introduces us to Nox, his family, and the beginning of Nox and Dove’s connection. Not only does it give you the foundation to their relationship, but it also gives you a deeper window into Nox as a character- and makes his evolution in this series even more captivating.

Picking up a few years later, we have Nox obsessively stalking sweet little Dove- the girl he broke who somehow both hates and craves him. Our story begins with us reconnecting with Nox, as he’s been watching Dove. Dove is truly broken- and she’s a threat to herself with her own destructive behavior. His fixation with her and her fragility soon override his need to stay hidden- and they reconnect in a disturbing, captivating, and toxic cycle. Their chemistry is transfixing- but depraved, deranged, dark and naughty.

What I love about this story is just how broken and unstable both Dove and Knox are. Their baggage, their perversions fit together so perfectly - what might feel depraved to someone else feels sweet and fulfilling to them. They are both scarred by their pasts- both with each other and with Nox’s family. Isabella truly did what I thought was impossible- she endeared me to Nox. His character journey was totally unexpected, and quite moving- we see his humanity, his heart, and his “softer” side- he ends up being kidna swoony. Only Isabella could make us swoon over a deranged stalker. I wish we got into Dove’s journey- we see a lot of change in her, but I felt like we understood her much less than Nox, I wanted to break into her psyche as much as we got Nox’s, and i think that may have helped me connect with her more.
All in all, an interesting and twisted read- all that I love about Isabella Starling!

Emotionally wrecking

One of my favorite books by Isabella Starling. This story demonstrated once again the depth of feeling an author can draw while still writing a steamy, dark read. Nox is back for his Dove, as in stalking the one that got away, and in his mind she still belongs to him. Meanwhile Dove is an emotionally crippled, damaged soul brought on largely from loving a bad boy. Their story unfolds in a tale of sardonic humor, toxic passion, growth, and redemption.

Nox is one of my favorite anti-heroes (villains?) -- perilously charming, dominating, willing to take the whole world down for his wants -- and he wants Dove. Dove is sweet, self-effacing, and on the cusp of realizing some inner strength after years of self-doubt and insecurity. And despite the darkness in this tale, one is empathetic to motives, even if not in agreement. This is a sorrowful, harrowing romance simultaneously dark, lusty, and compelling. Side characters, some endearing, some deceptive, others pitiful were fundamental to the depth of the story, experiences with whom were integral in this love journey.

Excellent pace as typical of this author as well as deliciously raunchy, steamy D/s times prevail. Reading book one in the Tyrant Dynasty is not required, but definitely enriches this story's telling. Nox is the alpha male you want to hate but secretly can't live without. Excellent read.

Wow... welp I don’t even know where to begin with this one. I love a good dark romance but man oh man, wow this was just...

Let me start off by saying that there was so many things that were just so unforgivable to me, and I honestly felt so sad for Dove. And as a disclaimer, I’m totally into OTT and dark romance, but this was just wayyyyy too OTT for me.

Firstly, the heroine is obsessed with the hero, so much so that she formulates a plan to get Nox drunk so that he would sleep with her. On the other hand, No- sorry Parker, is obsessed with June, his step sister which is also Dove’s bff. She also admits to being jealous of June, despite how unfair it is to her.

In flashbacks, she is presented as very weak and as a pushover because in these scenes she’s a virgin but she allows Parker to f*ck every hole she has. Now, I must admit that she obviously was uncomfortable and not really into it but she also didn’t really put up much of a fight. Now let me be clear. I completely understand that not everyone would know how to react in this sort of situation. Some people may fight back, and others may not know what to do so they just stay quiet. However, Dove was so clearly uncomfortable but she didn’t try and stop it because she, like I mentioned earlier, was OBSESSED w the hero. Dove literally went through with it to please him, and this guy didn’t even like her at this point, he was lusting after her bff.

Anyways, obviously from the blurb we know that the hero gives her a scar. This mad me so sad for Dove honestly. The hero didn’t even grovel, or even feel bad for it. Not that there is any way to make up for what he did to her but still, there was literally NO remorse. He liked it and even threatened to put more on her. Nope, nope, nope. The whole time he was actually crazy possessive, which I normally like but this just made me want to vomit.

After the ‘accident’ as Dove calls it, her mother began to view her as “damaged goods,” meaning that due to her scar, she is no longer beautiful and can’t live a meaningful life, or in other words, as how Dove used to live as a socialite. So now, Dove cuts herself and starves herself because she now too believes that she’s damaged goods, so why nourish and treat her body right? Ugh, sooooo sad. The hero literally did this to her. It wasn’t even the scar only. No, the scar caused so many other problems for her.

AND THE WORST THING is that he DOESN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE OR SHOW REMORSE. Yeah, he doesn’t like that she doesn’t eat because it’s unhealthy, but he also didn’t take any responsibility either.

But wait there’s more things the hero did before I had enough. So he’s in Dove’s apartment and he’s snooping around when Dove’s brother catches him. So what does he do? He kills him.

....

I mean... Bruh. Dude why. This guy is out here stalking her, and even thinks that this will seriously damage Dove because she’s extremely close with her brother, but nope. His thoughts are literally all self centred, all he can think about is how he’ll never be with the heroine of her brother rats him out. Ugh bye.

Oh- and when he dies, Dove is sad but doesn’t act as sad as I thought she would’ve. For her apparently being sooo close with her brother, she didn’t act that damn sad. Although, when she finds out the hero killed him she does freak out, and shut down on him. However, she forgives him at the end... Bye. No, no, no, no. All this guy has done is ruin your life, where TF is the romance? Cus there was none.

Now, after this I just gave up so idk tbh if he did grovel, I mean I don’t think so because I skimmed and didn’t see much of it, but then again who knows because I didn’t read it thoroughly. You might ask why I continued. To that I say, I just really really reallllly wanted to see how the hero would redeem himself, I mean if he even could at this point. Which I’m gonna say he couldn’t. I’m not judging if you liked the story, but I’m just saying for me, these factors where just way too unforgivable, and he barely showed remorse. I’m only saying barely cus i didn’t finish it so idk. There were also tinnier other things that bothered me, but I’d probably have to write a whole essay to explain them, so there’s that.

Whoa! This book is a dark romance, but it is a standalone though you should probably read Tyrant Twins first in my opinion. I will admit I wanted to take Nox (Parker) down for what he did regarding a family member but in his own crazy way made up for it so be prepared! If you have read Isabella Starling before you know that she does dark books and she does them so well This one ticks off all the boxes that you look for in a dark story.

Stalker Romance with lots of twisted moments!

This was a 5 star for me bc I loved Nox so much. He’s all the things I love in a stalker H. The story I would put at a 3.5-4. But I love Nox and want him to scar me bc he loves me so he’s got a 5. Lol

Okay so in this story we have Dove & Nox. Apparently we learn about their beginning in book one but I didn’t want to go back and read through another couples story just to get the backstory here, especially bc this is said to be a standalone. Honestly I may go back and do it now bc it does say some about their past relationship but I think there’s more to learn from that other book. This starts like 8 years AFTER the first book. So dove thinks Nox is dead and she’s been moving on with her life but really she isn’t living. She’s not eating, she self harms and she basically hates herself. Nox is still obsessed and after recovering from a coma that he was in for 6 years, he is stalking Dove, waiting for the right moment to take her back.
This story has a lot happening. And it’s well written and good. There are time gaps which usually I don’t like but for this story it was kind of a must, time he had to spend away doing stuff, time they were forced apart etc. so the last 20% had a lot of that which I kinda didn’t like but in the end it wraps up in a nice bow for us.

Somethings:
-Nox is the obsessive, psycho I love. He scarred her face in the past bc it makes her more beautiful.
-This has an abusive undertone. Their relationship isn’t healthy or sweet. It’s dark and degrading and it works for them
-The degrading i usually don’t like but Dove needs it and it’s how they work and honestly it was hot lol
-He has JP moments but isn’t continually that way so if your looking for that it’s not really in this just because he takes her, and when they aren’t together he still has a plan so he’s not really intervening in every thing.
-no sharing, no cheating (although she does kiss another guy but it’s before she knows Nox is back and he takes her)
-I just didn’t like the time jumps, 3 months, 1 year, 2, years etc. but for this storyline to be realistic I understand it had to happen. I also didn’t like that Nox could stay away that long without contacts

Dove and Nox's story was downright fiery and intense!
Poor Dove is living in the grey area of life, neither living nor dying, just existing. Her brother Robin keeps her balanced, even though she is hurting herself with her issues.
Nox/Parker is silently stalking her, keeping to the shadows, he is extremely obsessed and quietly biding his time to reconnected with Dove.
Isabella Starling imagined these characters and put them into words, she expresses their emotions of pain, sadness, and lust with such precision and care that the reader becomes obsessed to realize the outcome.

This was book 2 in the "Tyrant Dynasty" . This book can be read as a standalone. Dove and Nox/Parker story started in book 1 Nox finds Dove living in Los Angeles he is stalking her watching from the shadows. Parker who is now Nox isn’t dead he has been in a coma for 6 yrs now he has to make up for lost time. Dove is broken and a threat to herself with her own destructive behavior. Dove is running from her past not dealing with the things that happened to her. This was a really good read and although Nox was crazy and did some crazy things I loved him. He would do anything to get Dove back and run over those that got in his way. Dove is a survivor and strong I think it was hard for her to come to terms with the fact that she loves Nox and all the dirty things he does to her when he comes back into her life. This was a wild crazy ride that I loved. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

ALL MY REVIEWS CAN BE FOUND ON MY BLOG: ABSTRACT BOOKS

line

Star Rating : 4.5/5 Stars

POV : Dual

Cliffhanger : No

Hero : Nox

Heroine : Dove

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 5/10

Heat Rating : 6/10

Triggers Involved : Stalker , Very Dark , Kidnapping , Face Cutting & Knife Play

Plot Summary :
Nox and Dove have a history. Nox used to be fascinated by His step sister but the one person obsessed with him was Dove. So He used her. He used her so badly and then left her with scars. He was her true monster. The one person who absolutely terrified her. That is until he went off and died. Now dove could live her life in peace finally, healing all her wounds with care.

Then why does she feel as if she is being watched at times. Why does she feel those chills all over her body that only one man ever gave her. The one who put the scar on her face. The one who destroyed her.

Dove has no Idea that Nox survived. She has no idea that he is alive and the only thing he wanted now was her. And he was going to have her no matter who had to kill in between for that. Dove would be his and this time he would show her that how beautiful she looked with his scars.

Overall Opinion :
When I first read about what happened between Nox and Dove in Parker's story, I knew that they would have one hell of a tale. Nox pretty much cut up her face and I always assumed that there would be nothing this author could do which would make me forgive him for doing something so heinous.

But I am absolutely shocked to say that she spun the tale so perfectly and amazingly, that I found myself doing the one thing I promised myself I wouldn't do! I forgave Nox because he earned it.

The story is spun towards a lot of years and there is a lot of dark stuff in it with huge stalker themes in the mix. Nox is not a lovable character. He is possessive and an absolute psychopath at times. But the end when he showed vulnerability, my heart just burst. The book was really amazing. I think that everyone should read Tyrant Brother before reading this book because the whole story starts from there.

I would definitely recommend this book to all the Dark romance lovers out there. Please keep that in mind that this book has a lot of triggers and read those before picking this one up!

Tyrant Stalker by Isabella Starling is the 2nd book in the Tyrant Dynasty Series. This is the story of
Dove and Nox which their story did start in the previous book 'Tyrant Twins' but you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. I will say that was a really good book so you might want to read it just so that you don't miss a good read. This just as the other book is a dark read that I actually enjoy. I think sometime breaking from the normal romances is a good thing to keep you interested and wanting more romance reads. I think that Ms. Starling does a great job of that and I have looked for her books just because of that. I do recommend this book and this series.

What can I say about this book well it is so dark and the twists and turns keep you turning the pages to see what will happen next and omg you are not disappointed. Wow this book is beyond intense and yet I can't turn the pages fast enough to find out what Nox is going to do next. My heart goes out to Dove and her twisted feelings for the dark things only Nox can give her. I've read several of Isabella's books and loved them all, but this one is my favorite so far.

Wow what a ride

I have read many books from this author and I have to really give compliments because this is probably one of the most cohesive ones that I’ve read from her and I actually enjoyed it it was fun to read with a bit of:

I did not read the first book so I am not 100% familiar with these two characters so I probably have a completely different take on the relationship and how it evolved.

Parker/Nox wakes up from a coma or from injuries from a fall and is fixated on the woman Dove he claims is the one for him and begins to stalk her, sneaking into her house, interfering with her life and going a bit too far in trying to be with her.
Dove was in love with him but hates Parker because he cut her face and due to this she is a shell of her former self.

Trigger triggers please be warned

However I did enjoy this book because the Parker/Nox was so messed up in the head I thoroughly looked forward to his POV chapters just to understand his thought process.
It seems that prior to this book he may not have had a conscience so as the book goes on it is great to kind of read how he justifies his actions. At the same time. He maintains the darkness that intrigued the heroine and honestly me too because I did not understand. I liked him 😩😩😩

Anything bad he did in his mind was completely logical and made sense to his endgame. I screamed no but he did not hear me. Honestly to me cutting her face is beyond unforgivable and he does worse to her than that to her...

Reading the synopsis of the book I assumed it would be really dark but I also felt how can this be a love story when he disfigured her how can this be anything other than toxic and it definitely is toxic but I think the author found a way to make it work

I would recommend the book a lot of steam and I think the ending makes sense.

**Possible spoilers**

This is the second novel in the Tyrant series. I did not read the first, and I would highly recommend that you do. I had trouble finding the thread that truly connected these characters and why they were even involved in the first place. The was very little back story provided. There was a lot of reference to the first book, but no recap. A few pages explaining the beginnings of Nox and Dove's relationship would go a long way. There was one intimate scene from the past but that was it. I don't even know why Nox gave Dove the scar! Such an integral piece of her character, and no explanation was given. And in all her dreaming, she never dreamed of that? I know that she loves him, but I feel like that would be something very hard to forget, especially when you are self harming and starving yourself because of it.

And Nox's brother was mentioned often, but made no appearance. I am not sure why his family was not on his redemption tour for as much as he was mentioned. There were a lot of extraneous characters that did not add to the story and I honestly found them distracting as they would pop up without rhyme or reason. For example, the Hodge character. He was Nox's victim and employer. None of that was every explained, except to say that Nox killed his daughter. Without providing background, it makes no sense. Perhaps this story would have benefitted from a whole new cast of characters, especially since it appears that the setting of the first book was New York and this story was set in California.

Unfortunately, Nox and Dove never really felt like fleshed out characters and it was hard to find anything likable about either. Dove did acquiesce to Nox pretty quickly, which surprised me. There wasn't much of a fight. And the time jumps at the end felt like a cop out and a way to tie up a lot of loose ends and to force the happy ending. There were some grammatical errors but I didn't find them too distracting. I have ready other stories by this author, and this was probably my least favorite.

This book was so engrossing! I couldn't stop reading once I started. This is the second book in the Tyrant Dynasty series, featuring the other twin brother, Parker, or Nox as he has renamed himself. I did not read the first book, but it is not necessary to start this one.

Nox was a truly demented stalker, he's sick and twisted but you also see his humanity and vulnerability as well. Nox and Dove have history carried over from the first book and this one picks up several years later. In this book, Dove is a shell of the person that she used to be. Once Nox re-enters her life he exerts his dominance over her with punishment and rewards and things got quite heated. Their push and pull was a bit redundant, but their scenes intensely portray the conflict, lust and undeniable chemistry between them. There's a lot of dirty talking depravity in Nox and he brings all the same out in Dove. Despite the monstrous lengths he goes to possess her, some quite triggering, I couldn't help myself - this sensitive psycho was endearing.

Both of them are mentally and emotionally unstable in their own ways. But together they fit and heal each other's emotional scars. Their story carries over many years, so there are many time jumps into the future, mostly in the later part of the story. Both characters go through huge development arcs but it all plays out organically and it makes sense to see how much personal growth they went through, on their own and together.

It didn't seem possible to me at first to see how they could get to a HEA, but there are a few unexpected turn of events that brought it back around. This was a captivating read about the journey from deranged, obsessive love to one of redemption, absolution and true love rising from its darkest depths.

4.5 stars

Cartea nu are final, totul se invarte in cerc.

L-a omorat.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This is 3.5 stars for me. I liked it because it was different. I usually love dark Romance but there were times that this was too much for me. I am all for you accepting and embracing your kink, but these characters just made me want to scream at times. I kept thinking they need help. Which, Dove at least eventually does go to a therapist. Nox however goes too far with the killing. I mean, why would you in all honesty think that killing her brother would be ok?!?! Why would that make her want you more. And Dove just accepts all of it eventually. It's almost like she has Stockholm syndrome. And why would you think anything that has happened to you was your fault. Like you didn't ask him to carve you up, you didn't ask him to kill your brother. And girl, cutting yourself and your anorexia is something you need to get help for. And as for Nox being able to "cure" it in like a day or two..... Now I have read some unrealistic books, but on this issue it's hard for me to get on board with the timeline for this. Now she might talk to her therapist about these issues, but as her therapy isn't really covered I don't know.

And I'll be honest, I haven't read the first Tyrant book yet so there were a few things I wished that I had more info on. Like I wish there had a been a flashback of him cutting up Dove's face. I'm sure it was covered in the first book, but I wish it had been briefly touched on. I will say I am glad Nox decides to turn himself in. It at least shows me he is trying. Like I said I liked the book, the stalker trope is not one often read but good. I really liked the switching POVs. It helped to get insight into both characters. This won't be my last book by this author. I liked her writing style and the development of her characters. It was just some of the rougher content of this book that was a little much for me. However, I do realize that things like what Nox and Dove do actually does happen in real life. So with that being said, i hope my review doesn't scare people away from reading this. People like what they like and just because some of this story wasn't my cup of tea doesn't mean it won't be the best book you have ever read. So enjoy!

Even though this is a stand alone I suggest reading Tyrant Twin first cause you meet our not so friendly neighborhood stalker, Nox, and get a bit of a backstory of Nox and Dove and how it all started. Nox has been stalking Dove forever to keep her safe even though he’s what scares her until stalking is no longer enough! Dove is basically a living zombie and has no one that she truly trusts and interacts with outside of Robin and the homeless man behind her building. She wants to remain unseen cause what she’s dealt with in the past, it’s the only way to feel safe in her eyes. Her past trauma is constantly front and center and it only gets worse when Nox decides he’s no longer going to hide in the shadows
