* Event will be from 1:00pm SHARP and will end about 4:30pm
* Dhuhr is prayed at 12:45pm
* We will NOT allow walk-ins.  You MUST receive my registration approval email & text message to attend the event.

OUR EVENTS ARE ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE - Though our events are serious and for the purpose of finding a spouse, you will find yourself having conversations and laughing through the event, enjoying your time/having fun in a controlled and respectful environment. Both the Singles and Volunteers say this each time we have an event. PLUS, the events end up not being only about looking for a Spouse. Lots of Sisters exchange contact info with each other and become friends. Same goes for the Brothers.
ALL AGES IN 1 BIG EVENT - You are going to be meeting Lots of Singles between the ages of (Sisters 18-39 & Brothers 18-42) in 1 Big Event so everyone will get to meet everyone else.  Twice I tried doing 2 age groups (20's group & 30's group) and it didn't go as planned and didn't go as smoothly as having all ages in 1 big event.  Plus Singles were complaining after the event that they saw Singles they wanted to meet but weren't given a chance to.  So I decided to go back to the original way of doing the events.  Everyone will still get a broken down list of ALL the registered ages.  AGES FROM A PREVIOUS EVENT & EACH EVENT VARIES:  (Sisters 18-29: Ages: 23, 23, 23, 25, 26, 26, 26, 28, 28, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29) / Sisters 30-39: Ages: 30, 30, 30, 30, 31, 31, 31, 32, 32, 32, 32, 32, 33, 34, 35 / Brothers 18-29: Ages: 24, 26, 26, 26, 27, 27, 27, 27, 27, 28, 28, 28, 29 / Brothers 30-42: Ages: 30, 30, 30, 30, 30, 31, 32, 33, 33, 34, 36, 36, 36, 37, 38)
Are you okay with meeting All the Brothers 18-42? *
THERE WILL BE AN EVEN MIX OF BROTHERS 18-29 & BROTHERS 30-42.  We don't know who Allah wants us to marry.  Yes, we all have our "ideal age range" for a spouse.  But sometimes, the right person that Allah wants us to marry is older or younger than our "ideal age range".  The purpose of the events is to meet Singles and give them a chance.  I know many Muslims who married someone out of their "ideal age range".  This includes myself & my hubby.  I was looking for an older husband.  My hubby was looking for a younger wife.  Allah blessed me with a husband that is a few years younger than me and Alhamdulillah we are happy.  I know MANY that married out of their desired age range.  Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Salaam) was 25 when he married Khadijah  (Radi Allahu Anha) when she was 40 and Alhamdulillah they had such a happy married and loved each other dearly.
HOW EVENT WILL GO - Each table group will have a volunteer Moderator.  Brothers will rotate groups every 26 minutes.  After 3 rotations, we will have a 20 minute break for drinks & snacks.  Then we will continue with the 4th rotation.  I'll explain more details at the beginning of the event.

(1st Part of Each Group Rotation) ----> The Singles in each table group will ALL introduce themselves with..........First Name * Age * Never Married/Divorced/Widowed * Any Children & their ages * Current Job & what their degree is in & what level the degree is OR What they are Currently Studying in College * US Status (Citizen/Green Card/Student Visa/Work Visa) * Ethnicity * Are you & Your Parents Open to other Ethnicities * Who do you live with * Born Muslim or Convert.
(2nd Part of Each Group Rotation: ICE BREAKER) ----> The Moderators will be asking 30 different questions (5 for each rotation) for the "Never Have I Ever" game.  There will be no repeated questions for the entire event for "Never Have I Ever".
(3rd Part of Each Group Rotation: ICE BREAKER) ----> The Moderators will be asking 30 different questions (5 for each rotation) for the "This or That" game.  There will be no repeated questions for the entire event for "This or That".
(4th Part of Each Group Rotation: ICE BREAKER) ----> The Singles in each group will play "Pick a Card".  This will allow the Singles to learn quite a bit about one another.  Details explained at the event.
(5th Part of Each Group Rotation) ----> The Moderators will be asking 42 different "Yes or No" questions (7 for each rotation).  There will be no repeated questions for the entire event for this "Yes or No" portion.  I will take the 42 best questions that the Singles give me below for this part.
(6th Part of Each Group Rotation) ----> The Singles will take turns asking their own questions that they give me further down below on this registration form.  A question card will be given to each Single when they check-in.  The question cards will include your YES OR NO QUESTIONS and your REGULAR QUESTIONS.  You can choose any question on your question card for this part of the group rotation.  You should have plenty to choose from.

You are welcome to bring 1 Parent or Guardian with you to the event.  Please let me know if you are bringing a Parent or Guardian with you.  Your Parent/Guardian will sit up against the wall and is there to observe ONLY, not Translate or Participate in the conversations.  No children please. *
Don't bring a "Single Friend" just so that they can look at the Singles that are there.  The guest is there for a purpose.
If the conduct of you or your Parent/Guardian is inappropriate, you or they will be politely told to leave the event.  99.9% of the time I have no issues.  But you never know. *
I am aware that no personal contact info will be exchanged at the Marriage Matchmaking Events.  In the case where BOTH a Brother & Sister like each other at the event (Mutual Match), the Brother will only receive contact info for the Sister's Wali/Wakil/Mahram/Guardian/Relative.  By midnight the night of the event, I will text the Brother and Sister giving the Wali contact info to the Brother. *
For those that have a "Mutual Match" at the event (where both you and a Brother liked each other) make sure to setup an in person meeting with the Brother within 7 days after the event.  This is so you can keep the momentum going by talking and get to know each other more (in person is best).  If your Wali/Relative says it's okay for you to meet with the Brother without them being there, that's totally up to yall.  I've been told that some Walis/Relatives are delaying the in person meeting for a few weeks and that's not fair to the Brother or Sister.  You've already met in person so what's the point in delaying the communication?  Part of the success of these types of events is for communication between the Brother and Sister to continue right after the event. *
I am aware that the event is not operated on "Muslim Time/Arab Time/Being Habitually Late".  If any Singles arrive after check-in has ended at 12:30pm, you will NOT be allowed into the event. *
Might help to leave home earlier because of traffic, traffic accidents, etc. OR avoid main highways
I am aware that the event is a "Small Groups Q&A" style and the groups will rotate during the event.  Our Events are NOT "Singles Socials/Mixers/Free Mixing Hangouts/Group Dating/Speed Dating/1 on 1" and NEVER will be. *
We do not allow cellphone use at our events.  Let's all stay respectful and professional with each other.  Please leave your cellphone in your vehicle or keep in your pocket/purse during the event.  We want Singles to be focused on the event. *

ASR PRAYER - The Singles & Volunteers attending the event will pray our own Jammah for Asr prayer, after the event ends.

I'In the past, some Singles were repeat No-Shows.  I do understand that emergencies happen.  If you are a No-Show without sending me a cancellation Text Message, Email or Facebook Message....you will not be allowed to register for future events.  Unless you notify me after the event that it was an emergency.  Keep in mind that most marriage events charge money.  I keep these events FREE as a service to the community.  So please, respect the other Singles that are waiting to meet you, my time and the program. :)

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMERS:  (1) Greater Houston Single Muslims does not guarantee that you will find a Spouse at our Events.  We are simply creating a FREE way for Singles to meet other Singles. (2) We do not pre-screen/investigate any of the Singles that attend our events.  This is left up to the Mutual Matches and their families/wali, etc to do after the event.  (3)  We do not know who has or hasn't attended pre-marriage counseling.  Again, that is left up to the Singles to find out.
You MUST wait for my Registration Approval Email to attend the event.  If you do not get an email or text message from me within say 2-3 days of registration, please follow up with me to check on the status.  Just like if you register for a class in college or a workshop for work or something like that and don't hear back from them within a certain time regarding approval/acceptance, wouldn't you normally follow up with them?  Same thing applies here because technology isn't 100% perfect nor guaranteed.
I will also send you an Approval text message because some Singles aren't getting my Approval emails.  Some Singles are later finding my Approval email in their spam folder.  That's why it's important to add my email address (GreaterHoustonSingleMuslims@gmail.com) to your email contacts.
FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS THE MARRIAGE MATCHMAKING EVENTS HAVE BEEN FREE.  This is because I believe that there should not be a cost involved in meeting other Singles for the comfort of marriage and living a life according to the Sunnah in Islam.  It has become increasingly difficult to continue to keep these events FREE.  Unfortunately, I can no longer pay for these events out of my pocket completely. Therefore, I am needing help in the form of a $25 Entry Fee that will be used 100% for these events with no overhead.  BUT DON'T THINK OF THE $25 AS A FEE, THINK OF IT AS A CONTRIBUTION TO THE HOUSE OF ALLAH.  The Entry Fee is needed to pay for Administrative Costs including basic necessities such as covering the Electricity (Lights, AC/Heat) and Water used during the event.  Also, included are the Administrative Costs involved in keeping up with and "light screening" registration forms for so many applicants. The program has become so successful that we have so many more applicants and we are now accepting Out-of-Town applicants!  With the increase of all these participants and additional events, the Events have become costly and need funding.  It has been a truly rewarding experience to be a part of these Singles events and the resultant Marriages.  But again, I unfortunately cannot fund this effort completely on my own.  
SNACK BREAK: Singles won't be bringing Snacks/Drinks to share.  The $25 Entry Fee will also pay for Drinks/Snacks for our Snack Break.
There is a $25 Entry Fee for this Event.  When I have approved your Registration, I will contact you for payment.  You will pay online with Credit/Debit Card or PayPal.  If you cancel after Registration closes on (Thur) Dec 14th at 6pm CST OR if you are a No-Show, there's no refund.  INSTEAD, your $25 will pay for the person that takes your seat. *
