WESTON STRAYER APPOINTED TO MEN’S BASKETBALL STAFF

RADFORD, Va. – Radford men's basketball head coach Mike Jones announced the hiring of Weston Strayer as Assistant Director of Basketball Operations Tuesday morning. He will directly work with all video operations, in addition to assisting the Director of Basketball Operations.

"We are excited to have Weston join our staff," Jones said. "His track record with video editing and production is very impressive and will greatly add to the development of our players. He comes from two highly successful programs and has the type of relentless work ethic needed to excel in this profession. We welcome him into our program and look forward to him helping us continue to build on our recent success."

Prior to arriving in the New River Valley, Strayer was the assistant coach and junior varsity head coach for Lake Superior State men's basketball in Marie, Mich. In addition to his duties as a coach, he was the recruiting coordinator for the Lakers.

"I am thrilled for the opportunity to come to Radford and work for Coach Jones," Strayer expressed. "With the success he has had and the way he has built this program, it is an exciting time be a Highlander! I look forward to working with our players and staff to continue to move our program forward."

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Strayer served as a student manager and graduate assistant for Ohio State from 2013-15. He specialized in film downloading and editing, and participated in all day-to-day activities with the elite Big Ten program.

The Buckeyes captured three Big Ten regular-season titles, three Big Ten tournament titles and one Final Four with Strayer on staff.

Strayer earned a B.S. in Business Administration from The Ohio State University in 2013 and a M.S. in Sports Management from OSU in 2014.
