Personal Statement

Hi. My name is Sydney Hannah Picardal Sigala (you won't forget me with a long name like that...LOL).  I  most recently committed to William Penn University.  I  am currently a Senior at Del Norte High School in sunny San Diego where I am a fourh year Varsity Softball player.  My softball journey began at four years old in rec ball and moved into travel ball at ten years old.

Since I was a little girl, I had two goals.  One, to be on my high school varsity team.  The second, to play college level ball.  I am a hard worker with a humble attitude.  I persevere through challenges and remember to celebrate even the smallest accomplishments.  I believe in leading by example and paying your dues.  I let my performance speak for itself on and off of the field.  Leadership comes second nature to me and people are drawn to me because of that.  Let's be clear though.  I'll be the first to give you a fist bump when you do something great, but I will also be the first to have a respectful discussion one on one to check you if something isn't right.  I have a team first mentality and my team is my Ohana (family).   I am the first/third baseman/power hitter that will be an asset to your team.

I plan on going to college to major in Kinesiology or Exercise Science and will pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  My dream is to have my own practice that focuses on treating children and disabled Military Veterans.  Go Navy, in honor of my Veteran Grandpa.
