Dress with the Fur

It’s hard to believe it’s the middle of December with sixty-four degree weather in NYC. I mean, what?! Not that I am complaining! I am thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to ditch the layers and keep the wool coats at bay. Before the temperatures finally drop for good, I am dressing like it’s Christmas in California. Midi sweater dresses and fur vests are having their moment, and I’ve jumped on board with both trends.

Midi sweater dresses are incredibly comfortable, but are also work-appropriate and flattering on the body. As I frolicked around this weekend completing my holiday shopping, I needed a look that was relaxed and of course, stylish, so I pulled out my midi dress. I donned a faux fur vest over the dress for a more seasonal look. I love a brown on black contrast so I added riding boots, sunglasses and a bag to keep the color scheme consistent.

Being able to walk around Manhattan in December in a dress, taking in all the holiday lights and decorations, is a rarity that I enjoyed immensely. Thanks Mother Nature! See how I combined two trends in one look below.
