"Open architecture and open standards are the way forward. It is more about cooperating, being active and partnering in an ecosystem, and less about competing. This is exactly what the TOMP-API has achieved." In our latest TOMP-interview, John-Peter Veldkamp from software provider Ximedes shares his insights on how they implemented the TOMP-API for public transport providers such as GVB and Arriva Group. ⬇ Click on the link to read the entire interview! ⬇ https://tomp-wg.org/?p=788 TapConnect #interoperability #implementation #interview
About us
The TOMP-WG started in December 2018 as an initiative from the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management to facilitate the deployment of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) in The Netherlands. Since 2020 it has been moved to become an open source foundation with an international scope in providing standardised APIs within the MaaS ecosystem.

Last week, representatives from a national access point, a consultancy firm, a non-profit organization, and an Interreg North Sea Programme project explored Intertraffic Amsterdam. What unites them? The TOMP-API! Last week, Ayse Ocal (Nationaal Toegangspunt Mobiliteitsdata), Edwin van den Belt (Goudappel), Tu-Tho Thai (ITxPT), and Jelten Baguet (Mpact for the ShareDiMobiHub project) converged at one of Europe's premier mobility fairs. Their mission: to delve into discussions about data standardization and the TOMP-API, while also keeping a finger on the pulse of industry developments. After numerous discussions with attendees and speakers of summit sessions, they agreed on some main takeaways: 👉 The diversity among the active members of the TOMP-WG definitely ensures that we consider all stakeholders’ perspectives when developing our specification. 👉 Participating in conferences and trade fairs across Europe keeps us informed about the latest trends in mobility data exchange, empowering us to adapt our specification accordingly, but also to measure what is needed to support further implementation of the TOMP-API for all. A heartfelt thank you to the Intertraffic team for the flawless organization of this year's edition! #shared #mobility #data #specification #MaaS MaaS Alliance MobilityData CEN and CENELEC

How can standardized open data unlock the full potential of cross-border travel? This question took center stage in a panel discussion at Autonomy Mobility World Expo with not 1 but 2 members of the #TOMP Working Group! Edwin van den Belt and Tu-Tho Thai shared their vision on this topic, along with Christophe Duquesne and Ferdinand Burgersdijk. To allow for seamless #crossborder travel, several key factors come into play: 👉 Collaboration, Collaboration, Collaboration: #Standards and #open #data thrive on collaboration. It's crucial for stakeholders to share knowledge and learn from each other's experiences. 👉 #Agility: In the dynamic landscape of shared mobility data, agility is paramount. All parties involved must remain flexible and open to change. 👉 Strong Political Will: Political backing is instrumental in endorsing open data and standards and implementing them. Furthermore, the success of multimodal (cross-border) travel depends upon the inclusivity and accessibility of the digital solutions. 👉 Working Group Member Tjalle Groen, representing the Interreg North Sea Programme ShareDiMobiHub project during the panel discussion on inclusive mobility, emphasized the importance of digital mobility solutions being #inclusive, guaranteeing #accessibility for all, irrespective of the users' digital literacy, physical and cognitive abilities, or familiarity with transportation systems. Meet TOMP: Transport Operator, MaaS Provider🤝 The TOMP working group aims to develop and sustain an internationally governed interoperable #OpenStandard for technical communication between Transport Operators and MaaS Providers, by means of #Definition, #Improvement, #Alignment and #Dissemination 🚀 📚It is essential to have some common standards and to speak the same #Language to efficiently integrate #Dta: that’s why transport operators have to share their transport services in a digital form if they want MaaS to be successful. 🔎Read more about TOMP and other Mobility Standards in our Blogpost ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ds33UaP3 #MiaPlatform #TOMP #TransportOperator #MaaS
