Two Bentleys, worth $400K, stolen from Parsippany dealership

ParsippanyCopCar.pngMen stole more than $400,000 worth of Bentleys from a Parsippany dealership Saturday, police say.

— Two super-expensive luxury cars worth a combined $403,927 were stolen after employees left them running outside the dealership, police said.

Officers Ross Cooper and David Cavaliere responded to a report of stolen motor vehicles at Paul Miller Bentley on Route 46 west at 5:12 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Dealership employees told police the Bentlys — a $229,927 dark green convertible and a black $174,000 car — were started and moved due to the threat of possible flooding from thunderstorms, police said.

While the employees were mopping the showroom floor, which started to take on water, a red BMW X5 pulled up in front of the store, police said.

Two men, one wearing a red hoodie, exited the vehicle, police said. The men then entered the two running Bentlys and drove onto Route 46 west along with the red BMX, police said.

All three cars then pulled a U-turn at the Arlington Plaza entrance and fled onto Route 80 east, police said.

Police said it wasn't clear how long the cars were running in front of the dealership. They said the area is prone to flooding.

"This is a low-lying area," Officer Earl Kinsey said. "When we get a lot of rain in a very short amount of time, they get some flooding."

The Parsippany Police Department is investigating the theft. Anyone with information regarding the incident can call the Parsippany Police Department at 973-263-4300 or email crime_tips@parpolice.com.
