Beth Flynn never ceases to wow me with her twists, turns, and revelations in the books she writes. Tarnished Soul is Lucy and Jonah's story and if you've read some of the other Nine Minutes spin offs like me, you were super excited for their book. It didn't disappoint one bit! I loved this one. And don't worry, if you haven't read any of Flynn's previous books this can be read as a stand-alone.

Beth writes some of my favorite biker books because they don't feel like your typical MC books. They're so much more. Her stories are thought out and her characters are so well developed. These stories aren't centered around the typical MC culture and though the heroes are still rough and gritty (Jonah especially), they love their women something fierce.

Jonah and Lucy's love story was one of my favorites of the bunch. Lucy was relatable, smart, devoted and kind. Jonah had an incredible amount of growth. I loved how much he loved Lucy and even though he didn't do an unrealistic 180, he did make some changes for the better. I also loved seeing more of some of Beth's other characters in this one, Christy and Anthony, as well as a few others.

One of the best things about this book was the fact that it kept me guessing. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, there was something else that was revealed that I didn't pick up on. I love reading books like this. I read so many wonderful romances, but a lot of them are fairly predictable and it's nice to have that unexpected story thrown in there.

Tarnished Soul is a book I won't be forgetting any time soon. It was unputdownable, unpredictable, and a five star favorite for me!

'TARNISHED SOUL' Is the fourth full length book in Beth Flynn's 'Nine Minutes Spin-Off' series. But can easily be read as a stand-alone. This is Jonas Brooks and Lucy Renquest's story.

Going into this I was worried I wouldn't keep up as I hadn't read the book before this but I'm happy that it can be read as a complete stand-alone, there are some carry-over characters and story-line but it's not at all confusing and is easy to catch up.

Straight away I'm pulled under this authors spell again and captivated with this storyline like I was with the very first book. The feels came rushing at me throughout, the giggles, and the angst between them with their two and fro banter kept me on my toes.

These two met years beforehand, he came in staggering into the ER and she was the one who helped him. Years later he still couldn't get his angel out of his mind.

When he finally encounters her again, instead of going about things the normal way one would go to get to know someone he takes matters into his own hands and kidnaps her for one whole month ❝ Forced imprisonment, the new dating trend.❞ But she had a few tricks up her sleeve coming his way.

She was the complete opposite to what he'd normally be attracted to. And she'd never been attracted to his type before.

❝ 𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭. 𝐇𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧. 𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥. 𝐇𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞, 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭.❞

🏍️He was a hardened criminal who lived life by the beat of his own drum, no one told him what to do. He'd started stealing at the age of eleven, got into drugs by the age of thirteen and killed his first victim when he was fifteen. 🏍️

👓She was going to school with the hope one day of being able to cure diseases that robbed people of their lives. And liked puzzle mind games which eased her anxiety and stress levels. 👓

Don't be underestimated by Lucy, she took me by surprise more than once and for me she stole the show, she was quirky and feisty, book-smart and quick-witted and was the perfect heroine to steal our bikers heart.

Theirs isn't an easy journey they have many obstacles to overcome, but together they can overcome anything.

The two were are different as chalk and cheese but get them together and they just worked. I loved jumping into this world again. I loved the glimpses of past characters that we'd not seen for awhile, this slow burn quickly like previous books got its hooks into me yet again..

What happens when a hardened criminal and a high school outcast meet in a hospital?
An Emotional Implosion in the Gator Alley!
"What happened next occupied all of ten seconds but felt like an eternity, as his tarnished soul waged battle with his heart."

description

Beth has created multi-dimensional characters with minute detailing, taken her time plotting thoughtfully and carefully. I've come to claim All her characters as my own, I understand the reasoning behind their actions, which are nefarious and heinous to say the least, but I found myself making concessions for them and justifying them in my heart. Though I can't condone them...but I UNDERSTAND!!
It's uniquely crafted, love-at-first-sight, between two flawed humans looking for a chance at happiness. I fell head-over-heels in love with Jonas Brooks at the first page itself!!

description

He's his own law, his own judge and own executioner, meteing out his brand of cruel justice on the spot. Quick tempered and ruthless to the core he's a product of his environment. but he'll tell you “It’s very simple, sweetheart, I was born this way.”
I had no illusions about his ruthless character or if he had a chance at redemption.
But I was a goner for this hardened criminal, badass biker, who wears his illicit history tattooed on his face. Beth pairs him with a petal soft, super intelligent, nerd of a girl- Lucy Renquest. This doe eyed beauty is adorable in her glasses. Shy yet inquisitive, she soaks up knowledge taking refuge in books and college.
And Jonas is the complete opposite of everything she is!!
"She was sweet. He was rotten. She had the appearance of a small, pale, and fragile angel. He was a large, dark-haired, and angry beast. Her innocence was as tangible as his guilt. He wore evidence of it on his face for the whole world to see."

description

This is the most unlikeliest of pair to inhabit romancelandia, if there ever was one. And yet it works!!
Beth fills their hostile world with thriving love at every step. Their cabin becomes their symbiotic haven, standing on pillars of trust and respect.
It was strangle cathartic to see them finding acceptance and solace in each others arms. And more commendable was Lucy's unconditional love. She acknowledges the reality of his world and accepts him flaws and all.

description

This pint of a girl juts her chin and squares her shoulders, ultimately bringing down this mountain of a man to his knees.
All because he walked into a hospital and this angel of mercy saved him!!
Beth you've outdone yourself yet again, I can't sing enough praises of your sharp sensibilities. How you insert tiny details that run like a chain link fence connecting places, people and incidents.
Pay attention when you read people, every thread leads somewhere, every picture speaks a thousand words.
Beth pens topical and socially relevant commentary against a backdrop of powerful love balanced on theedge of danger in the dreaded Gator Alley.

Can’t say this was my favourite. I was really looking forward to this book because Jonas from the first books was fascinating for me. I expected great things but what I got was jonas basically ending things with Lucy too easily and seeming to be almost ok about her ending up with another guy. Jonas was so alpha and a total anti hero in previous books but in this book he appeared so different and honestly I was so disappointed in his character. As for Lucy she was the one in pursuit and I hate it when heroine does the chasing in my opinion a true alpha knows what he wants so there is no need for his heroine to do all that. The way she made herself too available to him and confessed her feelings was too much for me. I still don’t think he would have come back for her if someone else hadn’t intervened and again had Lucy not chased him again. Honestly I feel so let down by how not alpha Jonas was portrayed in this book and Lucy’s too easily given love got embarrassing after awhile. Just really expected more from both Lucy and Jonas.

Tarnished Soul is WONDERFUL! Beth Flynn gives her all once more in this final (hopefully just for now) book in the Nine Minutes series. In a story that is full of emotion and a delicate kind of love, Lucy and Jonas prove without a doubt that opposites most certainly do attract. From their first encounter to seeing each other again 6 years later, you just knew these two were meant to cross paths and that their lives would forever be intertwined. But never did I guess just how determined each would be when it came to their sharing their hesitant hearts and the lengths each would go to in order to keep each other safe.

Talk about addictive characters. Lucy with her subtle strength and Jonas with his stoic persona, I had no idea how these two could work. But Flynn weaves a magical kind of spell and I was completely captivated by how their unconventional kind of 'courtship' seemingly fit despite the vast differences between them.

For me, it's the smaller moments that solidified Lucy and Jonas's union. The way Lucy is patient and tender to a man like Jonas who is hardened and a man of few words spoke volumes. She gave him the respect he deserved yet held her own when faced with an uncertain few weeks with him locked away in a remote cabin. But with the way their romance played out, it was perfectly paced with each finding more about themselves and each other than they could have ever imagined when first meeting all those years ago.

Her awkward ways and his gruff nature should not have been the formula for a passion that is undeniable. But their sexy times were both beautiful and increasingly erotic as Lucy finds her confidence with a worldly man like Jonas and as their time away comes to a close, they are much more than lovers. They are true friends and soulmates. I think that is what I loved best. That their time together turned into a true relationship that both didn't even realize they needed.

Jonas will stop at nothing where Lucy and her safety is concerned and there are plenty of tense times as their lives post-cabin are filled with confusing feelings, a world of hurt, and plenty of ups and downs. But with well-meaning new friends in familiar faces from this well-written series and a bit of moxie on Lucy's part, I truly loved how hearts finally fell into their rightful places.

If Tarnished Soul has to be the last in this epic sequence of books, then Beth Flynn has clearly given us the very best send-off. I fell hard for these characters and their unpredictable journey to a glorious kind of love. It's filled with a special intensity that is all kinds of priceless and will fill your soul completely. Bravo.

The first like 70% was good, but then the timeskips just became too much and I lost interest.

Also, wtf is up with the plot twist at the end?!

It is—*𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙘𝙠𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧*—2021, why are we using a character's racial identity as a plot twist?

That is just weird.

Every new Nine Minutes related book from Beth Flynn feels like a gift. I could not wait to read Tarnished Soul. Brooks and Lucy's relationship has been hinted at in two of the previous books in this series, and I was dying to know more about them. Brooks is Anthony Bear's right hand man, if that helps anyone trying to place him from previous books. I wish Beth Flynn would give us a "family" tree because I had to refresh my memory to remind me which biker gang he was related to.

Tarnished Soul was exactly what I would expect from Beth Flynn. It was a journey through Brooks and Lucy's relationship. We get to find out how a studious and somewhat geeky woman attracted a devilish brute like Brooks and vice versa. (When I say devilish, I'm not talking devilishly handsome like some romance novels. I'm talking brute force with no conscience, so be prepared for some stomach turning scenes that you would probably expect in a dark romance.) Their love story was unconventional and sweet. I would never condone what Brooks does, but I did love his love for Lucy and desire to protect her from the world.

One of my favorite things about Nine Minutes books is the way they are all woven together through characters, setting, and plots. Each new book puts a piece in place and makes the entire series better. This book had some fun cameos and pieces of the puzzle. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was a major revelation about Brooks that came toward the end. It caught me off guard and I wasn't sure how I felt about it. What the revelation was didn't bother me, but more that it was one. I should have seen it coming. There were some major hints and I admit one had me thinking back to something, but I guess I thought I just missed that it was foreshadowing. I don't know how to explain it without giving it away. I just thought it was an interesting direction to go.

Anyways. Tarnished Soul was another fantastic addition to the Nine Minutes Spin-Off series. I loved getting the story behind Brooks and Lucy's romance. I loved getting more time with everyone. I am only sad I finished this book because now I want another from Ms. Flynn.

There are few authors who can spin a tale as cohesively, thought out and poignant as Beth Flynn. She’s a master at weaving a story but leaving these intricate breadcrumbs that culminate in beauty. You read the world she creates and don’t even realize that every small detail matters, until… bam… it’s there and it wraps you up.

Lucy and Jonas are two characters that are written so artfully they become real. The give and take of their characters, how the soft complimented the harsh and the way they interacted with one another kept me glued to the pages. Lucy could give as good as she got, but she was soft and giving to Jonas at just the right times. And through the story she found herself and grew as a woman of her own right.

I truly hope that Beth never stops writing these characters that come to her wanting their stories told, because when she does, she gives everything to it, as few ever do—or can.

Five Plus Stars for me.

Tarnished Soul: A Nine Minutes Spin Off Novel by Beth Flynn is absolutely bone chilling incredible!

Flynn is a master wordsmith, and can weave a storyline with more richness of characters and depth better than anyone I know.

A perfect example of this is Tarnished Soul, where she reintroduces us to Jonas Brooks, and the woman who has captured his everything ... Lucy Renquest.

Lucy and Jonas may seem to be total opposites, but there is definitely more to both of them than meets the eye.

Flynn will have you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see how this story unfolds.

Because you see, when it comes down to it, some souls are more tarnished than others... so are you ready to find out if Jonas Brooks soul is worth redemption?

I definitely was willing and loved every second of it!

When I sat down to enter the new chapter in Beth Flynn's Nine Minutes world, I was drawn right back to the Florida locale and characters depicted in Beth's subtle and captivating style of storytelling. Jonas Brooks and Lucy Renquest were both peripheral to other storylines; now they were front and center and subject to deeper examination. As with magnetic forces, two opposites attract. The first pull felt with the subtlety of a lightning strike, in a crowded emergency room of all places. Six years pass and then two worlds collide once again, with the ignition of connectivity that will not fade.
Turning the pages and exploring how Jonas and Lucy merge opposing worlds, personas, intellect and souls is the stuff of both fiction and history. The relatability of one's comfort zone, fear of not measuring up, feeling invisible, being the subject of snap judgment without understanding had me rooting for these two even in their darkest hours. Beth also delivers a timeless truth that is set in time decades prior, yet more relevant than ever today. I loved this book.

I don't read MC books, but when I do, it's Beth Flynn. Beth is an amazing story teller. If you love romantic suspense, you will love this book.
Lucy is shy, backward and super smart. Jonas Brooks is hard, tough and mean. The two of them are opposites but when Brooks gets a glimpse of the girl he met in a hospital waiting room so many years ago, the one he can't get out of his head, he formulates a plan that will bring her closer to him.
Lucy is "tricked" into a cabin in the woods with Brooks, but once she's there, she realizes there is more to him than what meets the eye. He is more than the MC and more than the things he has done. The story is set in the 70's, much like most of this series, and it is perfectly told to take the reader back into that time. As the two of them grow closer and Brooks learns that true love is unconditional, will he sabotage it or will he embrace it?
There is also a bit of mystery woven into this story, and Brooks realizes he must protect Lucy at all costs even if he knows that she is better off without him, he will never let her go unprotected. Soon he will learn that even this meek girl is stronger than he realized.

I can't help but feel that every time Beth releases a new book within the Nine Minutes world, it's a true gift. Not only do I get to reconnect with previous characters, but I embark on a new journey to learn more about a couple, Brooks and Lucy, who piqued my interest in The Iron Tiera. But not to worry, this book is a complete stand-alone. And for those that need a little refresher, Jonas Brooks was Anthony Bear's enforcer.

Tarnished Soul is everything I come to expect when reading a Beth Flynn novel. It's suspenseful, gritty, thought-provoking, and captivating, with complex characters that leave an indelible mark. I have always loved a good opposites attract story, and that is what we get with Jonas and Lucy.
These two were on completely different ends of the spectrum, yet from their very first encounter a special bond developed.

I'm always thankful for Beth's meticulous story telling. She leaves no stone unturned when developing her characters, and their backstories seamlessly weave into the current unfolding relationship before us. I know I should be appalled by Jonas and his nefarious ways, but like Lucy I couldn't help but be drawn to his strength, confidence, and fierce protectiveness when it came to those he loved. His love and loyalty to Lucy were unwavering, and knowing he felt undeserving of her, only made me love him more. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but he's right up there with Grizz for me.

As for Lucy, she is brilliant and kind, and completely beats to her own drum. I love that she is strong willed, and never backs down from a challenge, despite growing up as a social outcast. Her pull and attraction to Jonas may have unnerved her, but she did not let that hold her back. Even when Jonas was very forthcoming about his criminal activities, she understood the reality of the situation and accepted him wholeheartedly.

I truly loved watching their relationship develop, while trying to navigate the drama and suspense that was happening throughout the story. Be aware that the queen of shocking plot twists is leaving subtle clues throughout the book, but don't feel bad if you don't catch on, because I haven't heard one person say they figured it out!! So enjoy the build up, and rest assured that once the last few puzzle pieces come together, you'll want to go back and read certain scenes again! It's what I love about Beth Flynn, you learn to expect the unexpected!!!

Boy have I missed books by this author. She's one of only a handful I'd read anything by including a shopping list, as the magic and talent that pours off every page is awe inspiring. I don't think she could ever write a bad book.
This book certainly was no different, yes there might of been less action than others, but that didn't make it any less special, especially with all the easter eggs the author threw in for her long time readers.
This unlikely couple will tattoo themselves onto your heart. This amazing story is a standalone so I urge everyone to one click immediately.
Would give more stars if I could and hope we see them all again soon.

I Looooveee Beth Flynn! I just love her books so much!

I really love the characters and the nine minutes series, it’s one of my favourites. These books though are just spin off from the nine minutes series.

I hope there are more books to come in the future to do with characters such as ‘slade’.

A four stars from me | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

There are stories that affect you because of the intensity and passion, and then there’s this story which completely annihilated my soul!
Emotional, suspenseful, gritty and haunting, this is a unique opposites attract story.

Lucy and Brook couldn’t be more different. Yet, from their first interaction, the bond that developed and drew them together was magical. As their story evolved and developed, they became each other’s soothing balm for their souls!

This author never disappoints in flawlessly creating an intricate tapestry of perfectly imperfect pieces that fit together seamlessly.

From Brook’s first meeting of Lucy, I was on a mission to devour this story. Yet, I found that the meticulous scene development required that I savor each word slowly.
In fact, this is my disclaimer!
Read slowly and absorb all the words!

The build up, the intensity, the suspense and twists, this author kept me on my toes discovering the unexpected.
I was overjoyed to see characters from prior stories make appearances. However, rest assured, this book can be read and enjoyed as a complete standalone. Although this read may inspire you to start reading the prior books in the Nine Minutes series. As always I cannot wait for whatever direction this author takes in her next story!

OMG!! What can I say about this book except that Beth Flynn has done it again!! Beth Flynn does not write your average MC books. No. Her books make you think and they keep you so wrapped up in the mystery that is the characters themselves that your mind is left spinning for days after you have finished the book, and Tarnished Soul is yet another twisted rollercoaster of a ride that is a Beth Flynn book. What can I say except...Tarnished Soul is simply fantastic. I began reading this book late one night and I could not put it down. Wow!!

Tarnished Soul is the story of Jonas Brooks and Lucy Renquest, both of whom we met briefly in Iron Tiara. Jonas who goes by Brooks, is Anthony Bear's right hand man, and we meet him once again in the beginning of his own book, but we don't really meet Jonas until we are introduced to Lucy, the woman who captures his everything from the moment he first lays eyes on her. Jonas Brooks has not and does not live the easy life and you wonder what it is that he sees in Lucy, a brilliant woman who along with her twin brother were high school outcasts, a woman who is the exact opposite of who he is, but all while reading this story you find yourself rooting for these two and wanting them to find their HEA together.

Tarnished Soul is an absolutely amazing read. It is the perfect Nine Minutes spin-off. Tarnished Soul takes its reader on an amazing journey of two people trying to find happiness and whose lives are so wrapped up and intertwined in each other's that you know that no matter what happens these two will always find their way back to each other. Tarnished Soul is a deeply personal, complex and emotionally provocative love story between two people who you would never guess were made for each other. I guess it is right...opposites do attract. Tarnished Soul is simply brilliant. Bravo, Beth Flynn, on yet another masterpiece.

Jonas is a criminal and outlaw, unapologetically!
It’s not glorified and it’s not glossed over.
I appreciated that so much. It definitely adds to the realistic feel and the style of writing.
Lucy is highly intelligent and naive. She’s not had a dating or social life. She’s been focused on school and career.
There’s a feeling of fate between the two characters. A shared brief encounter in the past that gave me all the feels. It’s really a lovely aspect to the story.

Both characters feel a strong pull and attraction towards each other. Jonas is wary and feels undeserving. *The angst and games begin*
I loved that Lucy knew the reality of who Jonas was from the beginning. He didn’t hide himself from her. She accepted him even knowing his crimes. And they aren’t small. He’s hard core, the real deal outlaw.

There’s romance, angst and steam. Slow burn that melted me.
There’s a feeling of danger and uncertainty.

Unexpected mysteries emerge that took the story up a notch and had me so intrigued! A lot of interesting action and questions involved. This story has a bit of everything. I loved it!

There’s a surprise revelation of sorts at the end that was interesting. I had no clue, and I’m glad I didn’t guess it. It’s an interesting addition to the story.

I loved their journey and the end was completely satisfying. I loved it!

-This book is told in third person point of view.
I think that allowed a bit of distance between me as the reader and the characters actions and emotions.
A certain detachment, a more matter of fact reading experience for me.
It’s a different experience than first person POV, I appreciate both. I admit first person is more emotional for me.
Also, it’s set in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. It showcased how society is a bit more accepting of certain things now.-

I'm in the minority here and disappointed that this did not work for me. The first half of Tarnished Souls was incredible and held the promise of another 5 star read.

However...

Regardless, the first half was very interesting and hoping Alexander “X” gets his own story.

Tarnished Soul is Jonah and Lucy’s story. Talk about opposites attract. I am always quite drawn to each and every character Beth introduces to us and honestly could not wait to get my hands on this book!!

From the very first page this story had my undivided attention. It’s not your traditional type of romance however, none of the Nine Minute books or their spin-offs are. I adore everything Beth writes and honestly could never get enough of this world or it’s characters. No matter how brutal or unconventional their stories are they always manage to tug at my heart strings and leave a lasting impression on my heart.

Many difficult subject matters are approached in this book. It was highly emotional and interesting to see how Beth had these characters navigate such issues especially in the years given that this story takes place.

Past characters make an appearance and I could not help but smile each and every time one was mentioned. I love this entire crew and no matter how many awful things they do I can’t help but hope they find their HEA. I can only hope Beth gives us X’s story next!!!

It was okay.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Hero turns down several offers, rolls eyes....
Hero's past sex life is mentioned several times, heroine is a virgin.
No interest from the Hero in anyone else once he reconnects with the heroine I think it's 4 years after he initially meets her, the initial meeting is brief.
If you read the previous books by this author then I think you will enjoy this one.
The Hero is involved in violence.
HEA.

Once again Ms. Flynn wrote a story that I absolutely couldn’t put down. Jonas Brooks and Lucy Renquest couldn’t be more opposite from each other, but yet totally perfect for one another! Jonas is such a bad a**, and an alpha to the extreme degree and then you have sweet and innocent Lucy. Fate sure is a fickle lady.

Their story is packed with ups and downs, highs and lows, pushes and pulls, twists and turns and I was glued to my couch to see how it would turn out!

I loved that Jonas and Lucy never changed for each other, accepted each other for who they were – brains and brawn, sweet and sour, darkness and light, some might even go so far as to say an angel and a devil.

I also enjoyed the little snippets of Anthony/Christy and Grizz/Kit – I highly recommend reading this entire series!!!

Beth, you have done it again. You have captivated my heart. Bravo!!

This story follows Jonas Brooks and Lucy Renquest. They are from opposite sides of the track but a brief meeting has them remembering each other years later. This book had feeling happy, sad, content and excited. There were many turns I didn't expect and an ending that made my heart happy.

Lucy is soft, kind and innocent while Jonas is the opposite. He is the type of guy who gives you one look and your knees start trembling. Lucy is borderline genius and steps in to help Brooks when she sees that he is illiterate. She treats him with a kindness that he never forgets.

A chance meeting shows them both just how much that one meeting years before forever forged their paths.

Again, bravo Beth! Another job well done!!

*I did receive an ARC of this book in exchange for my unbiased opinion.*

Once again Beth Flynn has crafted a beautifully unbeautiful story about two people who couldn't be more opposite if they tried. Lucy and Brooks were love, personified, drawn to each other even though everything and everyone would say they should never be together.

Their first interaction drew me in immediately. Brooks, at the emergency room desperately needing to be seen by a doctor but getting nowhere with a nasty nurse. And then this angel steps up and helps him, someone he will never forget. Someone he wishes he could find again. Someone who made him feel like maybe his soul isn't as tarnished as he thought it was.

Beth is such a master at slowly and carefully weaving a tale so intricate that I always find myself reading at a snails pace just so I can savor everything laid out on the pages. Little things like how patient and understanding Lucy is with Brooks when he has a hard time expressing himself with words. And how Brooks does a million little things for Lucy that express his undying love in a way no words would ever be able to describe.

There was a suspense element in this story that I really loved, and in typical Beth Flynn style, she had me guessing at every turn as to who and what was behind those events. I loved how absolutely protective Brooks is of Lucy, physically, and she is just as protective of him, emotionally. They really were just the most unlikely, but perfect of couples.

I loved getting to see past characters again, it was a little trip down memory lane. Don't worry if you haven't read the previous books yet, this story is a complete standalone. But if you haven't read them yet, I feel pretty sure by the time you finished Tarnished Soul, you're going to want to go back to the beginning and devour the other stories next!

I'm sad to see that Beth has indicated Tarnished Soul will be the last book. If it is, this journey has ended in a really good spot. I really do hope and pray that she continues with more books in the Nine Minutes world, I have so many more characters I want to learn about!

Jonas Brooks was an ex-con, a ruthless biker with a short fuse that made those around him fearful of his presence. He made no apology for the life he lived or the lives he took. He wore his trophy tattoos with arrogance, a heeded warning. He revved his Harley pipes with pride and showcased his notorious bike gang with equal gusto.
What he never expected was to meet a young woman, an angel as pale as death, with oversized glasses to help him.
Lucy Renquest was an outcast. Bullied and tormented all her life by those that misunderstood her. But Lucy was smart, in more ways than just her IQ. When she met the brute of a man, she saw something else in him.
Six years pass before their paths cross again. Jonas being the man that he was, deceived her into accompanying him to his family cabin in the Everglades. There we meet the real Jonas and the real Lucy. What transpired was beautiful, passionate and gut-wrenching.
Disappointed with Jonas, she goes back home to her mundane life. But not all was as it seemed, and danger lurked closer than she knew. Will Jonas step up and be the man that can protect his angel? Or will the truth destroy any chance of them ever being together?
Ms Flynn has written a superb story. I fell helplessly in love with Jonas Brooks. With his complicated character, I found myself making excuses for his troublesome ways.
But Lucy for me was the winner with her calculated, smart ways. She outplayed them all, especially Jonas. She understood the man better than he understood himself. I had empathy for her and for her nerdish ways, her shyness, and loved her inquisitive mannerism. How she always managed to draw the truth from Jonas. But there were moments where I laughed at her underhanded and premeditated manipulation. Jonas never stood a chance when she played the game to win and outsmarted him. There are subtle hints that Ms Flynn drops throughout this story. Look out for them, they help conclude the story.
Once again Beth Flynn has given us a story, and characters that will forever stay in your heart. This one is on my highly recommended list.

I'm completely in love with this story, Beth Flynn always takes her readers on a magical journey that spans throughout the decades. Her stories are full of nostalgia, memories and attention to details. Beth has a gift for effortlessly crossing over her characters and time lines to enrich the storylines.

Jonas Brooks is a very bad man, who's done terrible things, he makes no apology for it. He's terrifying and ruthless to those who cross him and he takes great satisfaction in delivering his form of justice.
I really loved Jonas, the big brash biker stole my heart. He maybe a hardened criminal with a tarnished soul but he was far from irredeemable.

Lucy is such a sweetheart, she's kind, caring and a bit of a brainiac, I loved her straight away. She never had the easiest time growing up, an easy target for bullies. Her first meeting with Jonas melted my heart, it's no wonder he never forgot his little angel.

It was so easy to fall in love with Jonas and Lucy, their journey completely captivated me. Complete opposites In every way they shouldn't work, but they do. I loved the time they spent at the cabin, it was a journey of discovery for them both. They had this intense beautiful connection Jonas was all hard edges but Lucy was his soft centre.

Tarnished Soul was such a pleasure to read that time just slipped away from me. It's a fantastic addition to the Nine Minutes Spin-Off series and I highly recommend this book and series to anyone.

I'm not sure what is next from Beth Flynn and whether or not it's the end for this series?
Whatever she does you can bet she'll put her heart and soul into it.
I'm here, however long it takes for more Beth Magic. 💗

If you want a story that is a little different and a whole lot of outstanding this book is for you!! Not your typical romance that’s for sure.
Jonas Brooks is a bad man and he has no intentions of changing. When he finds his Angel after 6 years he’s going after what he wants.

The only reason you’ve gotten out of bed for the past six years was because you knew she was out there somewhere.

Lucy Renquest has been ostracized her whole life. Her IQ is off the charts and she’s still a kind and sweet good girl.

“Forced imprisonment, the new dating trend,” she mumbled under her breath.

They are opposite in every way. Ms. Flynn holds no punches about some of the things Jonas does so beware. Favorites from previous books make appearances. Some brief and some longer. Your gonna love this Tarnished Knight!!

“You’ve already given me exactly what I want, Christy. You gave me Jonas Brooks.”

5* is never enough for one of Beth’s book but this one took me right back to Nine Minuets . Jonas and Lucy were just so captivating I couldn’t read this quick enough then was disappointed when I finished it
I loved the ups and downs the couple goes thought the shock at the end you just don’t see coming it hints at something but it’s not what you think or could imagine ( well I didn’t )
A great book I loved from start to finish, and I think Jonas is up there with Grizz competing for my feelings
Well done Beth you truly nailed this one .Thanks for a fantastic book

T Soul by B. Flynn is a Nine Minutes Spin-Off, book four and can easily be read as a stand-alone.
The storyline is set in the 197ties and the author let me meet my absolute fav character of hers. Grizz and Kit - just saying.
This is Jonas and Lucy's story. They're so opposite from each other, they could be from different planets, the rough lawless man, all tatted up. And the genie geeky, kind and good woman who shows kindness even in the eye of danger.
There has to be darkness to see the stars they say. When he's darkness, she's not the stars - no, Lucy's his sun; keeps him anchored in the light.
This book had me in knots right from the start. I really, really wanted to clutch my pearls and be whatis thatwhatI'mreading - but I just couldn't. I was too intrigued by this story, by Jonas and Lucy's characters, by the excellent writing, by the unique and outstanding storyline.
I recommend the book and the series.
