Travel Talks | D-Day

Nearly 80 years after the Allies landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, D-Day is still considered one of the most significant amphibious military assaults in history. Join Paul Wanke, senior instructor in the School of History, Philosophy and Religion, as he explores this critical turning point in World War II during the upcoming installment of Travel Talks hosted by OSUAA’s Group Travel Program.

Wanke will discuss D-Day’s role in liberating Western Europe from Nazi Germany’s control and how it turned the tide of the war. A published author and noted military historian, Wanke has taught history at Oregon State for over 20 years and played a critical part in developing the university’s military history minor.
