Further information about the WhyGuru Course:
- Will be taught in English
- Assumes no prior knowledge of Sikhi or Gurbani
- 14 sessions which will cover the basics of all areas of Sikhi
- There will be group discussions and opportunities to share your thoughts
- Exploring the why… why Guru? Why Sikhi?
- The course was first delivered 12 years ago and has been taught many times across the UK since then
- The feedback has been immensely positive and we have found that this course fulfils a much required need across Sikhs of all walks of life, particularly young professionals and graduates/students.
Course objectives:
- Explore the lives, writings and social revolution led by the Guru
- Understand Guru’s mystical teachings for achieving oneness with the Divine and experiencing spiritual bliss
- Introduce Sri Guru Granth Sahib - the structure, common prayers, writers and raag/taal musical tradition
- To get a grasp of the Khalsa collective and Sikh history from 1700 onwards
- Explore, through discussion, the relevance of the Guru to us and the world today

7:30pm - 8:30pm every Friday starting from Friday 2nd February
