Ankara: Two shells fired from Syria hit a village in Turkish southern Hatay province on Monday, with no casualties reported so far, private Dogan news agency reported.
Two anti-aircraft shells fired from Syrian territory hit the village in Reyhanli town in Hatay, according to the report.
It remains unknown if the shells were fired by the Syrian army or the opposition forces.
Relations between Turkey and Syria have been strained after a deadly shelling by Syria hit a Turkish border town earlier this month.
The Turkish Armed Forces` Chief of General Staff Necdet Ozel told reporters during a recent visit to the border town of Akcakale that Turkey warned of stronger retaliation if Syria continued shelling on the Turkish soil.
