Review - Samsung Z The First Tizen OS 2014

Samsung Z The First Tizen OS 2014
After making everyone wait for a very long time, Samsung has finally announced its first Tizen OS powered phone, the Samsung Z. It has a 4.8 inch 720p screen, a snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and an 8MP camera.

Samsung Z, the first ever Tizen powered phone has many great features but none of them excel those of the Galaxy S5, though most features are the same. The design is pretty different than that of the Galaxy phones. The corners are sharper and the phone has almost no curves. Though, the physical home button and capacitive buttons are still there. The back of Samsung Z is textured and there are apparent vertical stitches that run from the top to the bottom on the sides of the back.

The Screen of Samsung Z is a 4.8inch Super AMOLED one. It has a resolution of 720p (1280x720), rather than the Full HD 1080p, the one found on Galaxy S5 and even on the one-year old S4. But because the Tizen is still very young OS, it would definitely perform better on 720p rather than on more power consummating 1080p.

Review Samsung Z The First Tizen OS 2014
On the hardware side, the Samsung Z is powered by a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. This processor will make sure that the Tizen-powered phone runs smoothly. Whereas on the software side, it runs the Tizen OS v2.2.1. It is the very first phone to use this OS. I don’t know much about it yet, but Samsung said that it has a new easy-to-use and customizable User Interface. It is said that the Samsung Z will have superior multitasking, great performance and high quality web browsing. I am very eager to use the Tizen OS, but for that I have to wait for the Samsung Z to release.

The Samsung has an 8MP camera on its back, accompanied by a LED flash and a heart rate sensor. The heart rate sensor is a very rare feature to find on a phone, it has only been used in the Galaxy S5 before, so it is quite a feature to find on an OS debuting phone. It also has finger-print sensor built into the home button. Other features include a 2.1MP front camera, LTE connectivity, NFC, Infrared blaster and 16GB of built-in memory which can be expanded by a microSD card.

We can’t be sure about the performance and success of the new OS. But we will find out soon as the Tizen powered Samsung Z will be released in the 3rd quarter of this year, first in Russia and then in the rest of the world. This phone is highly anticipated by the people, for that they might now have something new to use instead of Android or iOS.
