MEN used to meet their mates for a beer at the RSL.
Now they are just as likely to be sampling a latte at an upmarket cafe, such as this band of retirees, who meet once a week at Caringbah for a coffee and a chat.
The group includes retired MP for Cronulla Malcolm Kerr, a solicitor, accountant, oyster grower and a new resident of Sutherland Shire.
‘‘The rules are: there are no rules,’’ said Peter Lewis, a former shire councillor and president.
‘‘One week we talked about religion and no one killed anyone.
‘‘Another time we reminisced about school days.’’
Mr Lewis said the group of 10 to 12 men met every Wednesday from 10am to 11am at The Hospitality Establishment, 47 President Avenue, Caringbah.
